    What a neat little charger packed full of features, i like how you can use it as a power supply and the the way it discharges lipos quickly, thanks for sharing John 👍

    This charger is awesome! Love the reg discharge which is useful for old school batteries and and man does it discharge fast that way. I like how fast it does a normal discharge as well. My Imax tops out at 1a I believe though my isdt may be a bit more but both take forever to drop a fully charged battery to storage voltage. Awesome job as always John!

      this charger does not discharge at 30 watts. -1,3Ax16.09v=20watts. If you let the discharge process for 1.5 minute the charger will show 20 Watts only. Hobbymate H6 and Hota H? pro does not do their published specs.

    Any idea if you can regen discharge a lipo into a car battery? I keep an extra battery in the back of my truck to use to power this charger. It would be awesome if I could discharge an unused lipo into the car battery!! Thanks in advance.

      I believe this should be possible but I have not tested it. At 9:55 you will see the "Pb" option, Pb=Lead Acid ie automotive, cells. So this charger has the capability to work with this type of cell.

      Brent Roberts no problem! this is really an excellent idea, and I see no reason why it wouldn’t work :)

    hi what is the lowest voltage setting for discharge mode for lion and lipo battery ?

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The lowest setting for LiPo in discharge mode is: 3.20
      The lowest setting for Lion in discharge mode is: 3.10
      Just checked both for you. 👌

      @@JohnCuppi Thanks for that but that is not enough for testing capacity of the battery the proper is 3.00v end voltage for lipo and 2.80v for li ion , only the icharger x8 have that range i checked also isdt Q8 chargers but limit is 3.10v. for li po and 3.00 fo li ion now i have to buy icharger x8 also it have biggest power of internal discharge -50W

    What type of balance plug will work with this

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For lipo, up to 6s

    • @sparkola
      @sparkola 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Cuppi yes but there are many types of 6s balance plugs like XT or XH. I can’t seem to plug in my zippy battery 4s balance plug and it is an JST-XT

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      sparkola I really don’t know which kind most of my batteries are, sorry. It must be JST-XH then since I don’t seem to have any trouble plugging any of the batteries I have into the balance port.

      Yeah but I kind of like the form factor, it’s a nice size if you don’t need dual. Maybe they will make a dual ch version!

      @@JohnCuppi What do you think about the one made by HOTA? Are they the same company?
      It's the "HOTA H6 Pro DUO". Theirs is priced at $89
      It looks IDENTICAL. Thanks for the great review

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HEADBANGRR Yeah it is the same stuff. I can't confirm it, but my BG representative told me that HOTA and HobbyMate just rebrand items, they sell it here, this is the one you're looking at: bit.ly/2vPsYNe ? I'll see if I can find any coupon codes but it's definitely cheaper already. The software interface feels like iSDT made this actually. The specs and build look indentical. They also sell the HOTA Duo as well, and many of the items hobbymate sells. I think it's all the same stuff.

      @@JohnCuppi Yep I was on Banggood earlier communicating w/ their live chat & asking several questions about both brands. At the end the woman on the other end said I would get the remainder of answers via my email. Amazon has the 1 you reviewed for $110. Bang has the Hota for $90 plus shipping. 2 different brands but theyre the same. I think Hota is deceiving some w/ the "Duo" name because it does NOT have 2 channels.

    • @JohnCuppi
      @JohnCuppi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HEADBANGRR I think so too, they should not be calling it “Duo” in the title of the charger doesn’t have two channels.
