This is how I define Goldberg. He was build as a old western freight train inside WCW. He would show up and in 2 minutes he was off to the next destination. Much like a train he's unable to change where his tracks are going and can only move at one speed once he builds up speed. He bowls through anyone that gets in his way, and is more of a display of raw power, rather than adaptability. He was the Gordon of the trainyard (points to anyone that gets that reference). Anyone that ignores how powerful he was would get injured or worse.
Whereas... someone like.... Samoa Joe for example, since he has a similar undefeated streak in TNA, Joe was built like a Jeep Wrangler. Not the prettiest of vehicles, but is able to adapt to any weather or road condition and make the best of it. Capable of bringing multiple passengers to their destination without too much trouble, and can be used at a multitude of speeds.
Goldberg had his time, he served a purpose, he was bigger than the rest of the yard, but because of changing track conditions, he was unable to sustain his usefulness once newer smaller... faster... models came out, but every now and then his conductor takes him out for a run and people end up getting hurt. Onlookers marvel at his presence, but his usefulness is long gone.

Kevin Nash stated that he would spent all those days dodging Goldberg as the person who screwed him over making suspenseful to finally have match with and lose to Goldberg. However I feel more likely reason was so Kevin claim undefeated streak like Goldberg and get himself over more.

Goldberg looked like a killer. The internet wasn't what it was today so I didn't get to follow the hype and things went as they did but for those rare times I watched WCW somewhere for the next year or so, Goldberg was who I remember and who I wanted to see. But even at that age, there was this specific way I saw wrestlers. To me, there were guys that I didn’t consider wrestlers. And to me, I always saw Goldberg having a side hustle that happened to be wrestling.
But even at that age, you would think that I would go crazy about the whole “invincible and undefeated” thing. But I found it corny. Goldberg felt like one of those kids on the playground that when you play superheroes with, anytime you try to pull off an offensive move on him, he yells “force field!” And you can’t do anything to him.

Goldberg still draws now, regardless of bad runs, you can still put him on a show and still get a reaction, with minimal build up. That puts him well above El Gigante, Zeus, The Angels, and even Ahmed Johnson. Goldberg gave Bret a concussion, but the sum of Bret's pre-existing injuries led to his doctor telling him his career was over. Bret, and the internet, just want to blame Goldberg. Goldberg was unsafe and was too green for the push he had, but he didn't end Bret's career. It seems like he likes to blame other people for his problems. Who knows how much longer Bret's career would have been if he had taken time off and healed. Hell, after that Goldberg match Bret wrestled NINE more times and had matches involving weapons.

Jim explained what a casual fan cared about & from the beginning of Jim talking about Zeus you could hear Brian perk up because that was the time period he was super into WWF. His prospective was someone who was deeply entrenched into wrestling & he only cared about what the hardcore fans liked at the time. Warrior was the man to them at the time. Jim's point was casually Zeus was a much bigger draw with the casuals & Hogan was as well. It was so interesting hearing both sides of that viewpoint. Because Brian was clearly disgusted by the idea of Zeus & Hogan being the real draw for that period of time.

I love South Park style animation for this channel & the advertisement for Christmas about eating reindeer shit was absolutely hilarious😆. This is one of my favorite of these videos 😆!

Claiming that Goldberg was anywhere near a 0 is just Bret holding a grudge. Goldberg made everything he did look believable. EVERYONE bought into it. You can't get people to buy in to what you're doing if you can't do it competently. If you're judging Goldberg any lower than an 8 you're judging him on the wrong metrics. Literally no one cared whether or not Goldberg could do a hurricanrana or if he could out chain wrestling Dean Malenko.

well think it all depends on what you're judging him on, I mean there's no doubt that if anyone could make Goldberg work it was Goldberg who made what he did believable and he looked like he could kill you. now that said I can't fully blame Bret hart I mean yes accidents can happen in the wrestling world but when you are injuring people like Goldberg did a lot of the time then maybe you should work on being a little safer in the ring. just saying he's a guy who looked good in that ring but wasn't the safest of workers.

Goldberg got a bad rep I think. He was thrown into the deep end of the pool with tons of people in his ear. I think if someone like Harley Race, Dory Funk Jr or Stu Hart got a hold of him in 1997 then we would be talking about him as one of the best ever because he had the tools and the talent

I do believe has he been able to connect with someone like a Brett Hart (someone who took the business seriously and wanted to see him develop) early in his career, I think he would turned into a decent wrestler

Jim Cornette: I'd be pissed as well if someone ended my career and cost me millions of dollars.

This guy saying saying they cared more about Rick rude and the Warrior and Demolition and they did Hogan and Zeus, he definitely didn't grow up where I was. We always cared about Hogan more in 89, everybody else was just a side card. I'm pretty sure that's why Hogan was always on last.

Bret is bitter about the whole thing. The truth of the matter is Bret wrestled 9 more matches after Goldberg(including a hardcore match against Terry Funk and multiple house shows vs Sid). Bret himself said multiple times that he doesn't blame Goldberg, until Goldberg returned to wrestling and Bret started blaming him.

Did Bret Hart know that WWE's ring is 20 by 20, but WCW's was a 16 by 16.

Batista shouldn’t be lumped in with Goldberg. He had a rough start but he worked hard at his craft to get better and by 2010 he was the best heel in the business and maybe the best since Mr McMahon in the Attitude Era. He’s also a brilliant actor by far better than the Rock, who’s just a movie star and plays himself.

@@unlimitedayoproduction2452 but he’s a better actor and his movies are better. From GOTG, Blade Runner, Dune, the guys a chameleon. Rock never takes any risks as an actor and his movies are very formulaic, lowest common denominator types.
