Jeffrey Kershner there’s a new artist for 2nd edition, but still just as good.The changes to the Spells and having soldiers separated into Standard and Specialized should make Warband creation feel fresh and add some new decisions to be made.
Here’s the rules for the “mysterious” Ring of Transference from author Joseph McCullough on the Frostgrave Facebook page: Ring of Transference - This ring may only be worn by a spellcaster. Once per game, the wearer of the ring can spend an action to transfer up to 5 points of their own Health to another member of their warband that is in line of sight, on a 1-for-1 basis. So, if the wearer spend 3 Health, they may transfer 3 Health to another warband member. This may not take the other warband member above their starting Health.
davekachel That's a great question. Sometime 2nd editions of games assume players already know the game and end up leaving things out and alienating new players. But that's not the case here. The two editions have almost the same table of contents, except 2nd has a few added things in that needed to be changed or elaborated on to make the rules more clear than the 1st edition. So learning the game should have the same ease or difficulty level regardless of edition, but since the rules are more clear and streamlined, 2nd edition should be a bit easier (plus you won't have to search forums and additional supplements for answers to rules questions). Since so many aspects of the game have been balanced and refined, I feel it's a superior product and you might as well jump to 2nd rather than 1st at this point.

It’s the only non-Frostgrave content on our channel and apparently we didn’t like it as well as the rest of the community! 🙃 Cool concept for a game, but didn’t quite play how I would have liked. I used my LEGO terrain when I played, but didn’t have enough car pieces to make them scaled right with the templates.

would you recommend to switch to second edition before ever playing a first edition game?

You should try gaslands ...you can totally use legos for the cars
