Hello I hope you are well...I love frostgrave I have 12 warbands, I'll say up front the way I play has been tweaked with certain rules regarding recruitment allowing warbands to be bigger than the main rules ( a wizard can summon a zombie but if he has the spell he can summon a lesser demon or a construct if he has all three then he can summon/control all three but it must be done in game and by the WIZARD himself not the apprentice so if he fluffs the spell then he's done his action and must use another action to try again just the same any other spell), I prefer the rule of you buying things as you see fit ( I remember only too well rolling for items on the trade chart in necromunda and endlessly coming up with stuff I didn't want or couldn't afford) and yeah I get the idea of a rare items being harder to find but "ways and means" lets say ( Frostgrave traders are smooth operators), the thing I've found is certain spells are useful and a lot are crap lets face it, so you end up with wizards more or less the same whatever their class, which is where it falls down, for example you have a chronomancer he has his starting compliment of spells over time you add other spells but most WONT be from the chronomancer spell list so his title is chronomancer but he really only knows a couple of those spells so he ISN'T a chronomancer, now to me there should be chronomancer ONLY spells or whatever class only spells that you only can get at higher levels and you CAN'T train in them to make them easier, for example..."fake death" a necromancer can cast this spell when in combat for a free action, to his opponents he looks like he has dropped down dead and so can no longer be attacked but he is in fact ok, its a 10 to cast and you must be lvl 10 or more to use it, that way wizards stay more in their own classes and it is more important at the beginning to choose your class wisely...cheers now

@@DriveThruReview what did you think of Dragon Rampant? Sorry to pepper so many questions. I just discovered the osprey games this month and I’m excited to learn about skirmish war gaming, but I selfishly also want one of my oldest board gamer YT buddies to do the same hahaha.
@@MarkTizzy No worries. I didn't really care for Dragon Rampant THAT much. It was just OK. If you want something along those lines, I definitely recommend Warlords of Erehwon. I did a review for it. Also, I did a Top 10 Skirmish Games video a bit ago too: th-cam.com/video/PofZeD1kHsE/w-d-xo.html
