I like it when there are additional wizard type options added, like lich and beastmaster. I think vampire is a welcome addition. Could also be interesting for people that have modern/WWII/reaisance vampire models to make vampires with chronomancer leanings (or a chronomancer wizard they turn into a vampire).
I think it's great they offering some new options - I'm really interested to see what players do with Vampire spell selections and how having no Apprentice affects their playstyle.
You are the man!!!! Looks GREAT now the wife and I just need to work less to play LOL!!!! I assembled 65 figures this weekend. Now I have 80 scarecrows and 60 vine zombies for my table. I have to get off my butt and post a video one of these days. Great job of staying on top of all things frost grave and I LOVE the lego tables you make!!!!!
Thanks man! That's a lot of figure building! There seems to be a lot of news lately. I've got a Frostgrave battle recorded for a really interesting scenario - I just need to edit in the intro/outro. It'll probably post next week - the 60+ minute videos seem to take TH-cam a while to process. 😂
Ghost Archipelago could desperately use a similar treatment for high level Heritors and Wardens. It's almost impossible to get the full set of map stones for a campaign win before you either die (most likely) or max out every stat and power - neither of which is generally much fun anyway.
I see this as only for experienced players. This is the expansion for those who have been playing for years and are looking for new "blood" in enliven their campaigns.
I think that's a pretty fair assessment, though I do think there's some stuff in here for new players - mainly the new soldiers. There's definitely a lot of optional stuff in it that would likely bog down players that aren't really familiar with the rules. It's got to be tough for a game designer to decide if they'll target a specific section of their gaming base or be more general. At least there's enough different supplements out there that there's things for everyone.
I tend to go with: Ranger (125gc), Man-at-Arms (75gc), Infantryman x2 (100gc), Thug x2, Thief x2. I like the versatility this gives to the look of a team. However a good lineup for power gaming is: Infantryman x6 (300gc), Thug x2. This gives you a ton of Offensive strength, and if a couple soldiers die, they aren't too expensive to replace.

My local game store is *finally* getting this damn thing in next week. Only been nagging them about it since the start of the year, and the owner kept telling me it was unavailable through distribution. Bloody ridiculous, Alliance and ACD have both had it in stock on and off since day of release. He can't get the minis worth a damn either. I swear I'm going to stop buying local and just go back to the internet. The store shows zero interest in getting my business, and I'm sure not gaming there any more.
That’s frustrating when you want to support local shops and they don’t seem to want to support their shoppers. When I tried to by the Red King supplement, my local shop (15 miles away) said they couldn’t get it and referred my to a bookstore. 🤷♂️ I’ve sadly gone to Amazon for most of my hobby gaming over the recent years because I can’t find the stuff I’m looking for locally.
I'm thinking a giant blooded warhound is kinda awesome sounding. A dire hound if you will.

That’s because the real treasure isn’t finding the full set of map stones, it’s the friendships made along the way.

That's a good point - it could be a great way to add enemy spellcasters for solo games.
