Maisto vs. Autoart 1/18 Diecast Comparison [Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera]

  • 1/18 Maistos usually retail for $45. In a select few countries, you can even find them for as small a price as $15 (costco, sam's club etc.)
1/18 AUTOarts usually retail between $180 to $380 depending on the car. Some, however, can be found around the $100 mark, like this 1st Gen Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.
In this comparison, I will show you the exact same car in the exact same scale, just different colors and manufacturers, to see how well budget cars like Maistos can really do when paired next to high-end pre-composite AUTOart models.

If it's a car you really love, go for an Autoart. For general collecting I tend to stick to Maisto and Bburago, they're decent enough for the price.
P.S. Whats your opinion on ACME models? They do a lot of classic American muscle cars; I just bought a Hemi 'Cuda from them and the detail on it is fantastic but I don't see them featured on many channels.

    • @ImperialDiecast
      @ImperialDiecast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Agree with your view 100%. As for ACME, i think they stopped making models a while ago? they're kinda hard to get over here in Europe, stock is mostly only readily available in the US, so I havent gotten one yet, but they're definitely right up there with GMP in terms of detail level, basically a step better than ERTL and Autoworld.

@@ImperialDiecast Ah, I see. I'm in the US so that makes sense. I hope you get a chance to review one someday, they have very detailed engines and chassis.

Yeah. They virtually look the same, massive price difference. But I’d it’s a car that you adore, obviously you will notice the wrong details.

Great comparison! AUTOart is of course very detailed! But for a fraction of the price, the Maisto looks plenty good in my opinion (unless you get the AA on sale which almost never happens lol)

      It wasn't a great comparison.
We weren't told what happens to the buyer.
What's the life of the owner?
Does the owner move on within 1 year?
Does the owner cheat on these models?
Do they quickly end up in storage forever?
Do the owner's friends judge him based on these 2 cars?
Do these 2 cars lead to 10 more lambos?

I been going back and forth before I started my collection. You defiantly can get a large variety of cars with Maisto am learning with a fraction of the price. If you want that certain look thou you gonna spend the money. Me myself I starting with Auto World and ACME because of they large selection of muscle cars which I love and I want the realistic look not like Auto Art but it has quality but u spending anywhere from 90 to 140. Gonna take me time but my collection going to b looking a certain way. Not dissing Maisto 1 18 scale its just what I decided for my collection. Thanks for sharing.👍 By the way my first Auto World car is arriving soon...lol.

Just remember that for the price of just 1 Auto Art you can buy about 15 Maisto cars, let that sink in. For only $15, what else do you expect? Maisto can’t be beat for its price. Also, at a far distance, can you really tell a difference between the two? Probably not.

But Im impressed that a 40euro modelcar get that close to a 150euro one.
