- How to paint skin miniature. How to paint brown skin miniatures with Harder&Steenbeck KYIV Infinity Dark airbrush and Redgrass Games Wet Palette. This is display level painting of brown sweaty skin. This video discusses ways to airbrush and two ways on how to maximize your airbrush. We also did glazing and glayering with the thinner medium at the end of the video.

@@SvenEnterlein James Wappel gets to a point where most would consider it done around 30 minutes of painting and continues to paint it for 3 hours to a competition level but when I do paint it takes me 3-5 hours to get to James' 30 minute mark. The dude is a wizard. One day Ill get to that level.

Im very jealous of the control you have with your airbrush. I've got the cult of paint infinity, a supposedly decent brush but I'm constantly fighting really quick tip dry. I get about 3 trigger presses before the tip is crusted up and sometimes I feel the paint is crusting in the nozzle yet I never seem to manage to scrape anything out.
I use flow improver, I thin the paint, tried psi from 15 to 30 but all I ever seem to get is a crusty tip (lol) or paint so thin it just spiderwebs as soon as it hits the model.
Man I suck so hard at airbrushing 🤣

What needle size are you using?
@@elliespohr its a 0.4mm needle with a dual taper tip. I also have a cheaper airbrush with a 0.3mm needle that I get the same issues with.
I feel its likely to be my paint mix ratios or potentially moisture related as this problem crept up on me over time, never had these sort of issues when I first started airbrushing. I emptied a load of water out of my compressor tank a while ago despite my moisture trap being dry but its never been the same.
Sadly I dont know enough about the science behind airbrushing and painting to have an informed opinion

Bro, why thinner medium not glaze medium, what's the difference? I'm guessing for faster drying time?
One, I ran out of glaze medium. Two, glaze medium tends to be shiny. Also glaze medium is too transparent for me. Cheers! 😊
Water can sometimes break down paints, so using mediums is the better method.
Yes. Water is perfect for watercolors... acrylics love mediums more in my opinion. 😊
