I came here from Jazza's, I'm glad I did. It's a pleasure to know you, I'll be checking out the channel and merch. Hope you're doing well wherever you are!
Your merch makes me really happy. I messaged you on IG a few months ago asking about pins and patches, and sir, have delivered. Looking forward to slapping some miniac stickers on my toolbox too!
hey bro im from Philippines and i enjoy your little competition with my friend jazza and i like your craft and you definitely win this one cuz your an expert 💪💪😊
Watched Jazza's video first. " If I masked each part of this model and painted each bit in normal tones like skin tones leather and metals, I'd maybe get through base coating each part". Each part of Jazza's project flashed through my head as you said that lol.
I think jazza actually had the upper hand in this challenge. He didnt come in with the experience of a master and so he didnt have any set rules or ways of doing things. This allowed jazza to do whatever he liked and whatever he thought looked cool (which makes his piece look cool) however if they had, lets say 2 weeks, to do the same thing, I think jazzas lack of experience would show since he doesnt have the experience to use the techniques a master would use. I think these things take time to do properly and thats what is said at the end of this video. He said that he has a way of doing things that he couldnt do due to the time. I bet that threw him off his game
@@professionalrookie8771 wow thanks! Its kind of how getting a new graduate in a team at work allows a new/fresh mind to look at things. As a person who just joined the workforce, I have given suggestions to things that the team had never thought of since they have a perceived way of doing things. Ive been watching jazza for a while and he doesnt really have a way of doing things. its almost like controlled chaos lol so hes able to be more creative and groundbreaking than others anyway, glad that my insight could be of use!
They way Scott carefully organized and thoughtfully planned out how he was going to paint the miniature was definitely a contrast to Jazz's usual content but I'm here for it
You should've had a poll on your channel too! I mean one pole in jazza's channel isn't enough since obviously jazza will win in his channel, if we had another poll we can average the results
It’s sad that a lot of the subscribers are going to vote for Jazza because they’re biased, it would be the same for Miniac though. People should vote with their honest opinion and not with their bias.
@@bearlyplaying unfortunately, most people dont realize that there is a bias that is having an influence on their decisions. So they may think that they are offering their true honesty, but fail to realize that they might not have the whole story.
Watching this video made me realize a 'Chopped' style mini-painting show or video series would be amazingly fun. The basket could be full of random minis/parts and paints and the competitors kitbash and paint a new unique mini from the ingredients... You should totally steal that.
You're intro for Jazza was much more generous than his for you. 😁 The ghost barbarian looks good, but not what I was expecting. Definitely cool technique though.
I literally just found that Jazza bloke the other day when my girlfriend and I were watching a video about markers, how hes in my Miniac videos!? Great colab guys!!!
Gotta be honest, im a jazza girl... Following him for like 4 years, or even more... But you're cool!! I loved the magenta- turquoise skin color... But i didnt get the green fire and lightning idea, it looked weird... Looked cool on the eyes tho! Good job!
I remember Jazza talking about how he had to sell his Warhammer 40k miniature collection to pay the bills when he was a young adult... sounds like he's getting back to that time in his life.
Love how jazza has gone deeper and deeper as he falls back into his old WH hobby...Feels like the community is expanding and you Scott are definitely a part of these new times! Tnx!
Love it when 2 of my favorite channels collab. Great video, very entertaining. Both minis turned out great (considering the limitations) if I had to choose a winner I'd pick Scott because he had a more realistic idea of what could be accomplished in 3 hours and planned his painting accordingly.
I think both have their pros and cons. I like your use of stencils and masking techniques and also liked the gradient idea too. You boys certainly gave yourselves a challenge!
Honestly, I feel like Scott takes the win. Both were very creative with the lighting but Scott's experience with an airbrush and miniature painting in general gave him a huge advantage. He chose a very creative scheme that was easy to do with an airbrush and really showed lots of contrasts in his piece. He knew how to cut corners well without losing quality. He also used stencils which I haven't even thought of. Jazza on the other hand for your lack of experience you did pretty well. You did a goodie. I really like the idea of fire lighting the piece at night. maybe with more time and experience you could try something like that again? Also I find when there is lots of skin tones and clothes, its a lot easier to do the clothes first because of the complex skin tones. Overall the was really fun to watch and you guys are some of my favorite youtubers and its crazy that y'all are doing collabs.
I'm a Jazza fan. I like the way his way of winging it in almost every video. Chaotic but really fun. Now seeing this video with all the planning and all, I'm kinda into it and I want to see how Scott does without a time limit. New subscriber here 🤘🤘❤️🙂
This is so sweet! just came from Jazza's channel and not going to lie... I am very surprised that Jazza stood up. like.. I didn't actually have that much faith in him haha
Pretty dang good colab and both minis turned out well. I actually liked Jazza's better before the lighting effect but now both are on a similar level and I cant really say who did better. Also Jazza did his primer before starting the time and gamed the system timing quite a bit too. LOL
best Ghostly apparition with cool under-lighting effects and well a big blood spot, nice job, and the commentary from the Camera person, outstanding, you win, lol
Your videos are hitting a new high recently! Comedy is getting better, and content is great. I think this challenge is not your strongest showing results wise, but I understand why. I really love the channel though. Thanks for all the effort you are clearly putting in
I'm coming from jazza's channel and so glad that I watched this video. It was so fun and inspiring. I LOVE your mini that you made. It was unique and something I wouldn't have thought of.😊
My fav mini painter + Jazza who is a super nice gun, I actually watch his brother Shad, did so for a long time before I ever knew about him. Still want that Warcraft III shirt though Scott...
Jazza's turned out really good, especially for an airbrush noob. But I think you edged him with skill and idea. I voted Scott in both polls. Good job to both of you!
Nice! I love challenge collabs like this. It was a lot of fun to watch what you both did with the same thing. We do something similar in a much smaller scale (literally and figuratively) with our diecast build videos. Very fun! Thanks for all the great tutorials on airbrushing. As a novice to the craft, they're invaluable to me.
I really loved what you did with this miniature. The lighting you were able to accomplish with the airbrush was done really well and locked really smooth! The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that it didn't feel like you "painted" the miniature (as you mentioned yourself in the video). That being said, I'll have to give this one to Jazza. I'm really glad you guys collaborated because now I've found a really cool miniature painting channel to watch! I'm going to go watch more of your videos now :)
Id love to know what secret Japanese additive to minimize problem. Also what model airbrush are you using? Saw jazzas using iwata eclipse. Didn't see either of you take the tip guard to get closer details
I really enjoyed the colours you used on your model, but had to vote Jazza simply because of all the effort he went to - all that masking, many changes of colors and making it more realistic rather than fantasy.
The sprit effects can be done with holding a popsicle wooden stick against the tip of the air brush. Back in the day we used wooden cloth hangers. The ones that pinched the clothes to the rope to hang dry lol
Well, In all fairness Jazza has more subscribers so he will win by sheer numbers. I've been subscribed to you the longest (i just now subscribed to jazza), in terms of originality, overall effect and accomplishment, you win scott. Trick for getting elasticated gloves on (if they're anything like first aider gloves): scrunch them both up in your hand and then rub one hand on top of the other (with the scrunched up gloves between - duh) like you're trying to make a ball out of playdough - do this fairly hard and for about 5-10 seconds. It makes them a little less willing to cling to your skin. This was super useful when we needed gloves on in a hurry.

You've taught me a lot about painting so I'll share my own tip: For blood effects, an alternative to using the air to splash it off of a brush, you can put the blood paint in the cup and spray it across the edge of something like a tongue depressor. The paint will build up on the edge, and be sprayed off. You can get airbrush tips specifically for spraying a spatter which replicate this with by having a protrusion that partially covers the area in front of the tip. I feel like this has more control than using a brush actually as you can control the paint flow.
