I guess you’ve already been told she started playing as a child and got together with these brothers at 11. She’s still got “teen” behind the numbers in her age and her level of ability, performance and execution is THIS?!! I’m struggling here dude! Haruka is curb stomping pro guitarists who’ve been playing their whole lives!🤯💪🏻🤘🏻
Absolutely incredible band and they're still so young, but doing this for some years now.. Guitarist Hal-Ca is still just 19, bassist Miyu just turned 20 and his brother Mio on drums is 2 years older. Hal-Ca is already simply out of this world and you haven't even seen Miyu playing his usual 7 string bass yet 🙂 Watch their recent videos "Curch" or "Then&now" next, or the must see "Dawn". Thanks.
Thanks for your reaction! Hal-ca and Miyu are one of my favorite guitarists and bassists, please check out《dawn》live or《church》studio live next time,You'll see how miyu plays his 7 strings bass🤘🏻👍🏻
Today music scene is about marketing not the music it self, sucky music can be still popular with massive marketing money, while good music sometimes just buried in indie music scene, Asterism is the example of the later, even they already traveling to US, Thailand, China, South Korea, but only at indie music scene level. The good news is, they are now moving from Fukuoka to Tokyo, central of Japan music industry, so we can expecting more exposure on them Musician age also playing important part in Japan culture, high school education is mandatory also In japan if your age less than 20, you can not do performance pass 22:00 o'clock, another good news is, they all graduated now
... and this is just standard Asterism! One thing you obviously can't see here is their stage charisma - Hal-ca (Haruka/guitar) is a natural-born guitar-heroin on stage (and Miyu/bass is her perfect partner in crime!), so I recommand a "live with audience" performance next. I consider them the best hard/metal/prog instrumental band nowadays, and they're so young it's frightening!
ASTERISM at long last 🥰 Among all the incredible bands coming out of Japan ASTERISM seriously stands out for the sheer feeling HAL-CA (and THE brothers) manage to put into their songs. DAWN, GUNFIRE, CHURCH, FACED/BURNED, YUNAGI, hell, everything is ridiculously awesome. If they don't start a stellar career in the next two to five years something in the music industry is even more wrong than you'd think :P
Miyu, the bass guitarist, typically plays an ESP seven-string bass that I believe was custom made for him. The other two basses I've seen him use are a four-string with a whammy bar and the five-string he's playing here. He turned 20 earlier this year but has been playing most of his life. Mio, the drummer, is his older brother. Unfortunately, Mio has covid as of this writing, so they had to cancel a show or two and have the other two musicians go into quarantine. HAL-CA, the guitarist's stage name, is currently 19 and has been playing since she was 10. It's amazing how full they sound for an instrumental trio that doesn't seem to use backing tracks. They kind of remind me of old school Rush before they got so synth heavy. I always think that if G3 were still a thing, Vai and Satriani could take Asterism with them in that third slot. In 2019, they played a few shows in a small American tour was, mainly in Texas, and they'd always cover Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Scuttle Buttin'" with a lot of awesome embellishments. Great band, all three are stellar musicians who can play with anyone and outplay most. Thanks for reacting to them. "Church" is a good one from this same studio session; their cover of Van Halen's "Jump" from right around when EVH died is awesome as well.
This band is incredible, they are an instrumental rock/metal band from Japan, they are amazing. Both the bassist and guitarist shred on their instuments. They remind me of Rush but more metal and more shreddy. Also that bassist is incredible, wait until you see his with his 7 string bass lol
Hal-Ca is the greatest guitarist at 19 years old. However, she became her at the age of 16, performing a brilliant solo part in "Dawn". She is insanely talented and gifted from Above.
That is not correct. Haruka was 18, Miyu (bassist) 19 and his brother Mio (drummer) 21. They were first introduced to each other at a talent competition when Haruka was 11 (she only started playing guitar when she received one for her 10th birthday). They realised they liked the same music and decided to form a band together, performing under the name HAL-CA. They entered the same contest the next year, winning a couple of categories. Their final performance (2015/11/01, Haruka was still just 12yo) is here th-cam.com/video/BMMZB4U_mEk/w-d-xo.html
Aren't ya glad your gaze was turned east? It's hard to keep up with the amazing talent/music/charismatic musicians coming out of Japan. A new Golden Age of Music for us! Just like Band-Maid, with Asterism the next song to react to is... ANYTHING! Another couple bands for ya: Sokoninaru - "Tenohira De Odoru" - mv. Glim Spanky - "Circle of Time" - live. And there's plenty more! Thanks GMG! 🕊
Don't know how I missed your reaction to Asterism until now, I usually jump on reactions to Asterism the day they come out! HAL-CA (a deliberate play on the japanese (mis-)pronounciation of the english letters so is actually pronounced HARU-KA) is in my opinion the best guitarist of her generation. She not only has the speed and technical ability of the likes of Lisa-X, but has the stage presence and feel of a true great. It is no wonder people mention the likes of Vai, SRV, EVH and Hendrix when they react to her. Miyu is a true monster on the bass, especially his custom ESP 7-string. I'm sure this will p**s off Band-Maid fans (of which I'm one MISA!MISA!MISA!) but I think he makes MISA look pedestrian at times. Last, but by no means least, Mio, the drummer is also fantastic. In any other band he would be the stand-out talent. Not quite up there at Akane levels of madness, but pretty close. If you do Dawn (which I highly recommend), make sure to use the 2019/04/20 version (when Haruka was 16). Not the best quality audio but imho definately the best version on TH-cam, especially if you want to marvel at Haruka's playing. th-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/w-d-xo.html Also their version of SRV's Scuttle Buttin is awsome. It actually brought another reactor, Ray Mear, to tears (of joy 🙂). th-cam.com/video/BtB_VrYLRaM/w-d-xo.html
great react man, you need a check out a band called D_drive too, they are a instrumental band with 2 girls and 2 guys, one girl is Yuki and she is a beast guitarrist🎸
I my Opinion , HaL-Ca is the fastest female shredder in Japan . Bucket Head was so impressed with them that he played a couple of songs on their Album .
If I can find it! Big issue will be playing it from CD since everything has gone digital these days. LOL I think my car does still have a CD player though.
Asterism are awesome. they are not alone as instrumentalists in Japan. Another great band are D_Drive. Worth checking them out too th-cam.com/video/EMcZN9koNl4/w-d-xo.html
Yeah no more mainstream crap from america for me its all trash, I love all of my Asian bands singers and music. Unfortunately, for being very picky I don't like to much of the European crap either, nor any of the South American stuff either Japan has it all true talent and amazing bands and singers
I've put off most of the mainstream stuff myself. Only time I listen to it is when forced to when either my partner is driving and chooses the music, or the truck we are in doesn't have Bluetooth! LOL
First time hearing this amazing trio! I'm impressed! Let me know your thoughts. Don't forget to Like and Subscribe!
They are something else…listen to Church by them. You will know what I mean by “something else”…
I guess you’ve already been told she started playing as a child and got together with these brothers at 11. Definitely have them on my list! Stay tuned!
On their new song Metal Hal Ca started singing it sounds very good
Sweet!
The future of rock and roll is safe in the hands of the Japanese.
It's definitely not here in the States, that's for sure!
@@GlassMoonGaming uk too.
Thanks for your reaction! Hal-ca and Miyu are one of my favorite guitarists and bassists, please check out《dawn》live or《church》studio live next time,You'll see how miyu plays his 7 strings bass🤘🏻👍🏻
Have both on my list. I can't wait to see that!
ASTERISM/Band Maid My top two.
They both rock!
Just when you thought you hit the bottom of the rabbit 🐇 hole!!!!!🤟🔥🤟🔥🤟🔥🤟🔥THANKS 🤟🤟🤟🐺🦧🍌🙏
It's a rabbit BLACK hole it seems!
Lol. ASTERISM is known within a small group of people that just love these virtouses 💥🔥
They deserve to be known by many many more. They are just masterful!

"The guitar is the lyrics" pretty much sums it up. Hal-Ca, for all her pyrotechnics, plays lyrically and it's a beautiful thing.
It was definitely incredible!
... and this is just standard Asterism! I loved them! I'll definitely check out something live, no worries there!

They definitely deserve a long and lucrative career!

Thank you for reacting Asterism. They are not well known in Japan even though their musicianship is world-class IMO.
Please react more of them. 😊
I'm definitely going to react to more. They deserve to be recognized!

7 String? Jeez! Definitely going to check out more from them!
Hal-Ca is the greatest guitarist at 19 years old. However, she became her at the age of 16, performing a brilliant solo part in "Dawn". She is insanely talented and gifted from Above.
I definitely 2nd your opinion!
They are all under the age of 19 here. They started out as a group when Ha Cal was 15 the bassist 16 and his brother the drummer was 18.
So impressed by their skills and talent!
That is not correct. Haruka was 18, Miyu (bassist) 19 and his brother Mio (drummer) 21.

Thanks! I definitely added both those to my list! Ryan has stopped by here before! His channel is great!
another masterpiece by Masterism!!! \m/

I see what you did there! Church is on the list! Stay tuned!

Oh wow, Nice!
Their CD "Guernica+a" is awesome. Try to buy it. The band needs selling CD:s
If I can find it! Big issue will be playing it from CD since everything has gone digital these days. LOL I think my car does still have a CD player though.
These guys are fantastic. You should also check out Quadratum (Unlucky Morpheus side project).
I did their Eruption/Dance of Eternity covers on here. They are on my channel! Check them out!
Asterism are awesome.
