  • ASTERISM - Dawn (Live In Studio) Blind Reaction What up Sycho Nation and welcome back to the Asylum, today I take another look (Upon popular demand) at Asterism Dawn. You all told me this was the song to take a look at next so here we are and damn was I not disappointed.
Dawn starts off nice and slow and seriously cranks up the intensity with some killer timing changes and soul lifting solos by each member.
This song blows church right out of the water as we truly see what these young musicians are capable of.
Asterism is a band with no singer and purely instrumental music that speaks worlds for itself. With heart wrenching solos and heavy metal licks this band has it all and is def going places.
So sit back relax and come find your new favorite band in ASTERISM - Dawn (Live In Studio) Blind Reaction #sychonation #reaction #asterism

This band is another Cream (1966-68) with even more talent, no drugs, no ego issues and genuinely love playing with one another. " Really?" YES! I tell everyone that Haruna a/k/a Hal-Ca has the same Hendrix vibe about her ( I was lucky enough to see Jimi Live twice before he joined the 27 Club, so I give that comment to less than 3 musicians I have experienced in my lifetime and she is one of them). Miyu is a beast on that custom made 7 string ESP. He has been on a 7 string when he was a young teen still doing homework in high school. Mio/drums is Miyu's older brother and he keeps these two monsters on beat and in line, which is a monumental task. Nice to have a reactor show him some love. If you want to see each of them shine do SRV Scuttle Buttin cover that was done LIVE in Texas. It is stunning for high schoolers to demonstrate the talent level. BTW great reaction.

This might very well be the very best, of the very best, of the very best instrumental bands. _Dawn_ is such an amazing song, but even though Asterism has some great live-in-studio videos on their channel, I would generally recommend watching them perform in front of a live audience. That's when Haruka really comes to life. She might be doing some faces while playing in the studio, but on stage, you can really tell that she truly loves what she's doing. This is my preferred performance of this particular song. Use this video if you want to share _Dawn_ with your friends:

If you want a fun way of evaluating Haruka's guitar skills, take a look at Stevie Ray Vaughan (often considered one of the best electric guitarists in the world) playing his song _Scuttle Buttin'._ Then follow that with Asterism's cover of the song, and see which one you prefer. Just look her fingers flying, and enjoy the insane guitar solo she's added to the end. Talk about improving on perfection:

Maybe make a double feature of it 🙂

The live version from from 4/19 is CRAZY good. You get to see ALL 3 of them playing at the same time, not just one at a time.

I dare to say you already found the best instrumental band, in my opinion.
And that Haruka is a talent that only comes around every 100 years.
They've done a few colabs with singers, Haruka sings on a few songs recently herself. I, personally, like them best like this.

Haruka makes lots of faces. She totally gets into it.

There is a 2 version of this song as you seen now live in studio with 360 degree view and another one is live in club where you can see her play just like in front of you. Another best songs from Asterism, Church and Gunfire, both play live in studio with normal view.

Haruka is 15, maybe 16 here. The live, live version (from Club Utero in Japan) is the best. This is from their first album, Ignition. Church, which you listened to earlier, is from their second album, Guernica+a. Ignition is pretty much heavy rock/metal. Guernica+a is much more prog but still pretty metal. Animetic, their third album, is a set of anime theme covers and has some good songs on it but is a little bit more of an attempt to be commercial. They have a bunch of music videos from Animetic but the best Asterism is live or live in studio. Also tons of covers and practice videos. They are pretty social media savvy so lots of stuff on Facebook, TH-cam and Instagram. Haruka can play any style, from prog metal to jazz, and she also plays bass, drums and keyboards. They have been a band for about 9 years now, having formed when they were 11, 11 and thirteen when they were at the Yamaha Foundation Music School in Fukuoka.

They publish a EP with Vocals end of Mar23. Last year they signed with the Babymetal magement. Instrumental Band: Polyphia. Try also Dirty Loops or Aviations (Band) for crazy complex composition, but also ear pleasant play.

Thank you for spreading the word about Asterism. They are something unique and very special. As for adding vocals... I am skeptical. I listen to what they play, and it feels complete already. I have a hard time imagining any way that a vocalist could contribute something good to what they do.

So, it is beginning to DAWN on you go good this trio are (bad pun intended 😁 ). I see you have checked out BAND-MAID before, but considering your comments here re. angry looking drummers, if you want to see a band _really_ having fun and what is arguably _happiest_ drummer in the world, you should check out BAND-MAID's live version of "FREEDOM"; it has a longer drum solo in it and then a killer transition into the guitar solo: th-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/w-d-xo.html
