    Once you have developed control, tell your partner to attack you faster and faster, while you work on remaining relaxed.

    Who in the right mind would say this wouldn't work in a street fight . It's so awkward that if someone used this on me with the speed my mind at this time couldn't even comprehend what just happened. Falling in love with this art !

    I liked the conversation between the Japanese guy, ya know it had me thinking how martial artists do have power to change the world it's just a good conversation that's an age old thing, anyway the government should reflect the people especially the Sifus, the priests and nuns and the people more so....Yang....math

    The only way to find out about wing chun is to test it not with wing chun but, have thai boxing, boxing bjj, show how wing chun deals with a guy coming at you with that, and the untrained syco, i know from doing wing chun that most wing chun people complained if only bit of pain, they would of all lost in street fight, condistioning was poor, and a lot of talk doing if finding out,

    You know he is a very good teacher but nothing what he does is close range and wing chun is a short strike stinking art

    • @JEM-fo6rs
      @JEM-fo6rs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      K P i agree he is a good teacher,but I have to disagree with you on the short and sinking comment. It depends on your knowledge of the art. All lineages of WC are not the same. Doesn’t mean it’s not WC. So schools apply techniques differently. I’m looking at how practical and efficient he is. He’s fluid in his movements and transitions in and out,..mid range, Short range or close. Although this is just a demo, you can’t sleep on his approach.

    • @obsidianx01
      @obsidianx01 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JEM-fo6rs I have been watching him. For over a year and I have been wing chun myself for 15yrs.... and the common denominator is it all came from one source.... and originally according to the 3 arts (yes 3, good history lesson) shoalin short strike, emei and white crane it was never intended to be used this way and explains why wing chun almost all cases becomes overwhelmed by other arts.

    • @JEM-fo6rs
      @JEM-fo6rs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      K P sorry again I don’t agree with you. That’s depending on your knowledge and historical information regarding the art. Different lineages have different historical information. I’ve been training on and off just as long as you my friend. And there are various view points on the original approach of WC. Did you mention 3 arts to create WC? Well Where I study it’s 5. See does it really matter? Long as it’s effective, practical and efficient and you’re using the principal that were taught,..I say rock on! With the current claimant of WC challenge matches videos it’s not looking good for the art I love.

    • @sasoriko
      @sasoriko 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      KP Shouldn't this be about what works? If it is effective use it and if it doesn't work keep training. Are you saying it's incorrect because it is being used differently from how you were taught or are you saying it's ineffective? If the latter why is it ineffective? Is there a link to a video where someone is doing it more effectively for comparison that you will share?

    • @obsidianx01
      @obsidianx01 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sasoriko @1000delight is the channel. He is a researcher on wing chun. But man sau wu sau is the biggest enemy, lead hand and rear hand needs to be closer to the body. I would say experiment with that concept when practicing and sparring, it's like a whole new world.

    As long as your enemy cooperates, wing chun works. Not otherwise.

    • @aziremperorofthesands6369
      @aziremperorofthesands6369 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can say that about all the other fighting methods.
      as long as your opponent gives an opening it works otherwise it doesnt.

      Azir emperor of the sands, eh? Mma is tested with opponents who don’t cooperate at all, except in avoiding certain banned rules

    • @aziremperorofthesands6369
      @aziremperorofthesands6369 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmperorsNewWardrobe first off all, this is a demo from the teacher to the student. you cant resist a technique you have never seen before as a student. when you practice in mma you do the same thing, first the instructor shows the technique and then you practice it with other students.
      also, i never said cooperate. in every fight people make mistakes and the opponent reacts to those mistakes. that is how fights are won in mma considering most people train hard as hell. and since there are weight devisions 2 fighters are not that far appart in strength and skill, its all about what they do in the moment and how they react to eacht others moves.
      I do not believe wing chun can be effective in mma at all as it is now. but to suggest that it is useless is a very ignorant and foolish thing to say.

      Cristian Vintila and my point is some wing chun schools act as if they’re a viable method of self defense. I respect wing chun and the people that use it, of course. But there are a lot of liars out there that probably get people hurt

    • @ashtonpadilla5269
      @ashtonpadilla5269 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nebula2294 at one point sifu says "think in terms of circles" ... This kata is not supposed to be strictly applied, it's meant to be practiced so that when you are being attacked you understand what movements counter other certain movements. If someone is striking your chest counter by stepping out and pushing their hands away from you and into them while constantly moving and keeping your hands free of a lock. This is a basic principle in close quarters defense. BJJ, muay Thai, systema, straight up boxing too. It's not that this kata should be applied in combat, it's the principal of the kata. At the end of the day if you maintain the principal of preventing your attacker from striking as they please and force them to reassess their movements you will eventually find the opportunity to strike and then lead with your momentum. That's all this is.
