    Thanks, Andy. It's great that you're taking us through this process in such a basic step-by-step way - just what is needed for novices. Lots of dirt behind that wheel arch liner - no wonder the corrosion has been getting a grip on my wheel arches! Will be getting that sorted out soon.

      Nice work Chris. I am glad my videos are helping so many. I try to make them easy to follow as there are normally videos out there, just not aimed at those of us who are novices. Rather than "train the trainer", its more like "novice the novices!" lol

    Great video was very help, except I had a heck of a time trying to line the bottom bolt. Was not confident that I was going to cross thread. After trying several times l decided to mount the bottom bolt first, than pulled up on the top part of the shock while starting the top bolt. Worked like a charm.

    Great vid. I'm not convinced replacing the bolts given that they are torqued correctly when re-fitted. Is there any data to support this?

    Great Job and very usefull, thanks Andy. I have the same Monroe model in real position, and in the front the model E4950. But the true transformation came with the change of the Stabilizers bars!! The next step 😉👍

    Another great video Andy, did this on my black roadster last year but didn’t replace the bolts so thanks again, will get them done ASAP! My old shocks were in the same condition as yours and both the springs had snapped.

      Thanks Gary. Yes it was seriously grubby. I am going to replace all of those control arms as they have some surface corrosion. I want it looking like brand new underneath!

    • @TT3.2
      @TT3.2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andycharger I'd like mine looking new underneath too. As I use my car daily it's a bit difficult to find time for jobs like these. I suspect it will be easier to buy all the parts and have them powder coated and then swap it all over one weekend, then get the old parts that I've taken off powder coated and sell them on....might be a plan 😉

    Hi Andy
    Very good video. Unfortunately VAG have made top bolts obsolete but bottom bolts only available in bags of 7 from VAG. Fortunately managed to get 2 from Western VW in Newbridge (had 5 in stock) and top ones from eBay shop in Latvia (hoping they arrive 🤞). They may become a problem VW stop support once 10 yrs out of production.

    Amazing Andy, been waiting for these videos. Finding it EXTREMELY difficult to track down correct parts and part numbers for the V6, and even harder to find someone in the US who has the knowledge of this specific TT, let alone on TH-cam. Seems to be a much rarer model. Gonna be fitting the scorpion res catback next week, one of the few V6 add on’s I could find here in the States.

    • @andycharger

      If you have uprated your springs it would be wise to do the same with the Shocks. These tend to be for “standard” ride so probably not. Have a check on the Monroe site.
