- In this video, I take a deep dive into the Macro Controls Mapping section of the Channel Editor in PreSonus Studio One 5. More specifically, how to customize and edit the controls to suit your needs. Macro Controls have been around for quite some time in Studio One - but if you haven't fully explored them, then this video is for you.

@@marcushuyskensmusic hi, do you have a video on how to create a macro page that you can export and import? S1 has a tendency on resetting my shortcuts and macros and it sucks to always start from scratch
I wish we could save the macro settings with a plugins preset vs a channels preset.

Yeah - I love it.. I regularly toggle back and forth between my Mains+Sub and my iLouds+Sub... with the Macro Controls spilling across the faderport - I just hit both buttons together for seamless switching.
@@marcushuyskensmusic Can we have That video please? How to make a “Monitor Controller” inside the DAW, with Sonarworks, Subs on off, maybe ISOL8 features? (The bonus would be using the listen bus solo features and “Solo In Front” assigned to a midi knob like on a large format console)

i've been using the inverted feature for a while now and its really quick for A/B. You've triggered an idea. If i've got the same plugin slapped on each channel (say an SSL channel strip with 1 instance on each track) i can set the Bypass of each instance to button 1 so that i can do a quick bypass of all instances of the channel strip without having to bypass everything.
Actually thinking about it, I don't think this will work as only the channel with the macro control bypass will work. All the other channels with the SSL channel strip won't have the macro bypass button
Do you have a how to course on how to use macros in studio one ?
Can you target different midi on two 3rd party synths for one macro knob i.e filters to work together under one knob?
What’s the use of macros if you can’t automate it?
Can i create an automomation with that Knob created in the macro tap?
Can this be used on "Send" Channels as well for like controlling reverb Mix?
Hi, I have a quick question: When you press F11 around the two minute mark, the Channel Editor opens straight to the Macro Controls page. However when I press F11 the Channel Editor always opens to the FX insert page. Is there a setting to change this behaviour?

It doesn`t work with third Party plugins. When I save a Macro FxChain with an SSL Channel strip for exemple the Macro doesn`t load properly, the macro knob keeps inactive. But with Native presonus Plugins It works. Unfair !
I have noticed that on some plug-ins - but also that it DOES work on others.. 🤷♂️ Not sure why that is, but a lot of the time I'm just using the Bypass Button - and doing a bypass Toggle type workflow..

Just curious what happens if you save these settings as an FX chain and then use them on an instrument where Knob 1 is already used for something else (talking about example 1 - first 8 min or so). Does it overwrite or move to another knob?
I've had a little bit of experience doing this, and from what I saw - It just moves them over to an empty knob and merges previously assigned knobs with the new ones.. That being said, Im not sure what would happen if there was no room left.. But i never have that many assinged, usually 1-3 MAX.

@@marcushuyskensmusichi brother. There's an option to automate the BYPASS button to A/B but it doesn't work as expected with regards to the invert. Instead flipping the bypass between the 2 plugins, it leaves the one plugin active whilst bypassing the other one on and off. It doesn't do the invert thing. Hope it makes sense.
oh man ... spent a minute watching you reset parameters on a plugin, just so you demo using macro controls specifically with stock devices only 😅 ... damn this youtube monetization system that pushes for longer watch times ...
