I have the s90d and the s95d at Home..i have send the s95d Back..
The s90d Looks sharper, clearer, better blacks etc..
Should just get the s95c then, the s95c is better then s90d, they really did the 90 series dirty this year by not really improving it at all

This was a long stream thanks for tuning in live if you did if not no worry I don't expect anyone to watch it all and I will have a condensed full comparison between S90D vs G4 in the near future. It was a fun stream though despite all the troubleshooting events lol.
Thought the comparison was very even. Both TVs look fantastic. I’d lean s90 as it is easily $1k less than the G4 and keeps up nicely. The S90 is shaping up to once again to be the value pic for all around TV again this year.

Colors, saturation, and definition on the G4 look incredible, and noticeably better, crisper.
I thought the G3 looked soft when it came to definition, maybe I'm wrong.

All Quantum cares about is juicing the colors to comical levels of saturation. The LG G4 is overall superior for those of us who aren't delusional :)
These look pretty much identical on your video when it comes to perfect high-res video sources. I bet when doing any up-convert or processing the G4 will crush the S90D. As long as you're running high-res video you will love your S90D. The real area where the G4 wins is with the de-judder/smoothing AI setting where panning shots get smooth motion then still shots get normal film-like frames. That is something I soooo want, but recently bought a LG C3 six months ago and I'm really loving it regardless. I'm not going to fork over the massive money for a super-cool AI de-judder feature. I think if you own an OLED made in the last 3-4 years you're getting a premium picture and it's not worth buying another set yet. I figure that AI de-judder will be on mid-range LG OLEDs in 3-4 years when I would think about another upgrade.

After watching all the TH-camrs review these TVs, I’m so unsure of what TV i want now lol .. don’t get me wrong they are all excellent reviewers, shout out to Tech at KG for a brilliant comparison here… I’m just torn between these 3 choices: A95L, S90D, G4. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! 😀
Just depends on the preference you have, and when you’re buying if you decide to buy soon you really should include 2023 models into the mix if price to performance ratio matters at all.

Have you noticed any differences in terms of the color brightness/gamut differences with the QD-OLED vs. WOLED technology? Is QD-OLED a bit better with color? @@asafblasbergvideographer with normal colors no the G4 has nice rich color its not until very select scenes with very bright vibrant colors where you see QD-OLED pull ahead.

LG G4 AL PICTURE PRO uses dynamic metadata just like what you have in Dolby vision to analysis scene by scene as well as pixel level control of colours, so it is only effective when you have a dynamic scene and not a pause scene.

I’m a big LG fan but the Samsung clearly looks like it has more dynamic range and bit depth with color. FYI, more dynamic range is less contrast. More information visible without clipping on either side. Clearly this is inherent in the tech. Qd has more color depth. Either tv is fantastic. But I’d always choose the tv that works more seamlessly with gaming and presenting DV. So LG is still probably the choice for me. Vivid looks like blown out crap hahah…

qd oled doesn't have any more bit depth than woled. hope you even know what bit depth really is. qd oled is a 10 bit panel like woled.
@@Ren32 I do. I instantly thought “all newer tvs are 10bits….” But qd oled can display more of the color gamut because of not needing the white sub pixel if I recall…. Anyway… I shouldn’t have used bit depth, but qd will display the bits better haha.. it’s clearly the better technology. Just wish LG was the one with it as they’re the experts in getting the most from OLED tech as they have 2-3x more experience than Samsung.
Edit: also realize that qd colors are much better in color brightness, not sure if this really matter with calibrated content but I’d imagine it’ll look “better” in a lot of content but seeing it in person and calibrated side b side is the way to go.
S90D is $1k less expensive and really the same PQ. I’d pocket than extra $1k and get a great soundbar. Decision made!
@@trewright1482then pocket it by all means, and when Samsung releases a firmware update that makes the TV look worse mid year, just like what happened last year, remember you still pocketed it. Then maybe think about fanboys. Samsung is almost certainly not betting on its product to last for doing such a thing and it's shitty AF anyhow. People forget so easily, but always remember to talk about fanboys. LG is a far more reliable company, what you see is mostly what you get. That's not Samsung.
A pixel is a pixel, so what makes for that increase in detail? Better accuracy out of the box? Higher contrast ratio? Or some background processing altering the image in a way that diverts from directors intent?
Yes. It's just pixels and lights. Nothing is actually moving. It's an illusion. How that all happens is much more complex than pixels and lights though. It's controlling the timing of everything and the power. And then also the signal and processing. Together many moving parts will end up resulting in perceivable differences, even though both started with the same signal.

AI Picture Pro will LEARN and then apply settings. So you won’t see changes immediately. It learnes from the type of content it plays

Full screen brightness looks waaay better on the G4. But some scenes look the same and occasionally better on the S90D!
The G4 looks incredible. I would absolutely love to put it next to my QN95C. Looking forward to seeing if the S95D is better? And is sdr still brighter on lcd bud?
Thats a dealbreaker, SDR mode is still brighter on the S90D by quite a lot

@@trewright1482 yes! go and buy s90d, most games are mastered in HDR, and Moreso, you can use ALLM with expert bright/day picture mode with a little increase in input lag, meanwhile, S90D is very inaccurate in SDR game mode with DE of 8.76. so choose your poison

Can hardly tell the difference tbh. In some scenes LG looks slightly better & in others the Samsung does. If you brought either you’d be satisfied.
They are both in filmmaker mode so any $1,000 Sony in standard more with warm2 will look like a tv from another galaxy colorwise and brightness wise. I don’t agree with Quantum TV on everything but calibrated modes are about as nice looking as a gray canvas.
Still can't wait to see how the 97" G4 holds up. Can the sheer size and processor improvements make up for the no MLA?

Can't decide between the Samsung S95C or the Hisense U8N. ABL, Black Crush and Burn In is an issue with OLEDs. I can get the 55 inch Samsung S95C for $1499 dollars or the 55 inch Hisense U8N on April 20 for $1049 or the 65 inch for $1450.

83” 2599 Samsung S90C would be your best bet if the g4 83” is out of your price range because almost all 83” woled aside from the G4 look very similar so just get the best deal

Looking to replace my Sony A80J 55" for either a G4 or s90d in 77"
My 65 A80J failed after 2years and 1month 💀. Also looking for a replacement (probably s90c or 90d depending on improvements. I think the g4 isn't worth it because it's the same price as a S90C + soundbar set.
Go G4 it’s better from what I see plus you get the 5 year warranty included

So lame there is no 42 G4, I had a 48CX and it was a bit big but i lived with it until 42 models came out. Now if I want the best OLED experience I'd have to step up to 55 :( The G4 is impressive but I'd lean towards the S90D as its 1k less today with sales going on with all brands.
interesting, at times the G4 looks brighter and better, but at others, the S90D appears to have better specular highlights and color brightness.
One thing I think for sure however, the G4 has better processing and fine detail.

while i do like comparisons but showing two different technologies (brightness, color etc) in one single shot doesnt work. they need to be filmed spererately. when doing this kind of video talking is essential as only you can tell what you actually see.

G4 definitely consistently brighter but did clip and loose detail at times. Would a fairer comparison not be against the s95d?
it never really clipped anything it wasn't supposed to if anything looked really blown out my camera clipped most likely and if it does clip on the TV keep in mind in HDR its intentional by LG the way they do their tone mapping but this can be adjusted with professional tone mapping toggle settings if you desire.

Im sorry but once you go qdoled you cant go back to woled. Im not sure if its placebo, but the samsung looks better to me, g4 looks washed out a bit. And knowing how much more burn in resistant qdoled is over woled is a huge deciding factor for me. On rtings website you can compare two tvs at once. Compare the longevity of both tvs and youll see burn in is really not a issue for qdoled. As they crank up the brightness for woled, burn in is becoming more of a risk. Compare the g3 vs c2 and older models. I bet the g4 will burn in harder then the g3 in rtings tests. I'll give lg this. 24/30hz content is trash on samsung so really the lg is the better overall tv sadly. I guess my point is if you are buying a tv for gaming, samsung is best, mainly watching TV, lg all day.

its the camera white balance mostly, making it look worse. G4 has a small green push like Samsung has a magenta push but nothing I would call very noticeable in person.

G4 in film maker mode is very accurate with DE of 0.4 in HDR and 0.6 in SDR

3D televisions were killed off mainly because people didn't find them very exciting and comfortable to watch at home. They needed special glasses, and the 3D effect often gave headaches. Also, not many movies and shows were made in 3D. It's unlikely they will come back in the same way

I didn’t block settings I actually showed going through the settings many times, only time I put the screen up was when I was switching content.
The S90D looks more accurate and the image looks 3D…the G4 is flat
