@@CDTB_PICA well it could be a good theory in my opinion since genki studios IS under Namco and they did chose a S130z for the final boss for this game hence the overpowered speed in the video, adding Zero's emblem with a pentagram referring the devil or something related. So in a way the original driver of the devil Z would be Jun kitami racing the player before making the final upgrades making the actual Devil Z we know then crashing it and starting the story of wangan midnight and us as the player realizing it and being more intrigued then we were in TXR 2 to continue this story while letting Jun kitami tune our vehicles instead of us doing it ourselves so we can finally be able to catch up and pass the Z
Oh man, I played this game so much back in high school/college on my brother’s Dreamcast. I remember trying to beat the last boss soooo many times. When I finally did it was because he just happened to get stuck on another car.
Jeez. the z weighs 750 kg and has 660 hp. It basically has an almost 1:1 power to weight ratio which is nuts. I wonder if the real life midnight club devil z had these or even better statistics.
1:35 Is it me or the speedometer starts to totally freak out when you try to challenge "???" ? I don't know if it's intentional, a bug or an emulation issue. But since that car appears out of nowhere it kinda gives some sort of paranormal aura to "???".
It is inspired by devil Z but since this game release before wangan midnight was in PS2 in 2001 . The engine of it is RB26 rather than the L28 . ( PS: the 'real' devil Z was a mid night 280zx unlike the anime one 240zx)
Wangan Midnight is a big influence on these titles, and you face the Devil Z as the final boss in TXR1, TXR2, TXRZero, and Import Tuner Challenge(XB360). He makes appearances in the Drift series and Street Supremacy (PSP) also.
May I ask you a question? I just clear the 1st half, and I am in 2nd half now, but I didn't beat all middle and zone bosses in 1st half, can I beat team in the fulture? or I have to beat them before getting in the 2nd half? Sorry for my poor English and hope you can help me, thanks a lot!
Tsz Ho As i know, you are not able to defeat all middle- and zone-bosses in one run of the game. If you really want to beat the game 100 percent, you need to run through the game at least 3 times with different class cars (A,B,C). Also you most likely need to have multiple playthroughs for all Wanderers and some secret Team members :)
Yes he is the final boss. I think I made a mistake in the video tittle here. But there actually is the original Zero with his Porsche 964 in the game as a wanderer. Sadly you have to beat the game multiple times to get to him

The best thing is that in Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero the car has around 1100 hp and is even more lightweight with 722 kg
The Devil Z in the Wangan Midnight anime was said to have over 600hp.
