I’m playing it safe due to planning on doing this for life until I’m probably 70 or so and no longer care. I only take 3.3 mg of oral Finasteride and 9 mg of oral Minoxidil per week. I use a derma roller and 5mg Minoxidil foam on my days off of oral on the bald spots. Zero side effects and amazing results! Start small and stick to it for at least a year!!! There is zero need for taking a dose daily! It’s over kill and you can still achieve 90% of the same results with less than half the dose but with consistent routine while NOT affecting your health.

Why not just make synthetic sulfurtransferase enzyme (or something like it) and administer it with the Rogaine? Or add it to the Rogaine immediately before use to activate it, much like mixing hair dye with developer to activate the dye before using it?

Is minoxidil available commercially in the dosage used for hair loss? As a pharmacist, I kind of panicked getting my 1st prescription of it from a dermatologist… it was at blood pressure reducing dose. When we prescribe minoxidil for severe hypertension, it needs to be associated to a beta blocker to make sure there’s no rebound tachycardia and to a diuretic become water retention

Hi Doc. I have been taking 2.5mg to 5mg of oral minoxidil and 0.5mg of dutasteride for over a year and half. I stared off taking with 2.5MG of minoxidil then increased to 5MG a year ago and have not seen any thickness or growth. I did see a dermatologist and she thought it was a hormone issues which came back negative (even though my testosterone free and total was low normal).
I recently increased my minoxidil dose to 10MG and starting to see small hairs sprouts. I did have a HT 10 months ago but my scalp is still looking like the ugly duckling phase (3 month phase). I am not sure if it’s the minoxidil or if I am just a slow grower.

If you feel that the medication you are using is not working on you then try to be off for some days ,say 30 days and then see the effect weather the condition of your hair density is degrading or not .If the condition is stable without medication for about a month or two month then leave the medication because there is no use of continuing it.
Doctors say that the patients who have aggressive hair loss ,in them, the Finestride has to fight the tough battle 💪. But It does not mean that it is not working . It is still working.
Hair follicles in which in which the hair thinning is occurring , in them if the hair shaft diameter becomes less than 50% then no medication can thicken those type of hairs so it ultimately means that hair loss medication can only work on hair whose shaft diameter is more than 50%

Topical minoxidil contains high levels of ethanol which is toxic. So if you’re ingesting topical, this can be a life threatening emergency with refractory shock due to its potent vasodilatory effect.
