  • This is the full review of the Thrustmaster MFD Cougar Pack by The Simpit. This is a button box that is completely configurable in game. There are two displays included in the pack giving you a total of 56 programable buttons. The Cougar pack was designed after real cockpit controls and comes with pre printed cards to easily remember your button assignments. In this video we use this flight button box for racing and see how it works on the track for us.

    In all honesty though TM should have called it a MFBB, multi function button box, very useful, but not a Multi Function DISPLAY! :-)

      @EmesiS 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because it's what they're called in real aircraft. PFD and MFD....Primary Flight Display and Multi-Function Display. They weren't that popular in the flight sim community, so maybe TM can make a few bucks in the Sim Racing community.

      EmesiS if a functional aircraft has an mfd like this I’ll be worried.. you’d expect an actual MFD actually have a display to function

    How would these work for Star Citizen? they look very cool

    Thanks for covering this. I kept wondering what it was! I thought the card insert was actually a programmable screen. Kinda like a Kindle type screen.

    Thanks for an Excellent review on MFDs. Now I'm convinced to buy it for my flight simulator. Only one thing Shaun, I've got lots of hardware to connect to my PC and I'm running out of USB ports. What USB hub is best for gaming or siming?

    I was looking into these but then I figured I'll just use the elgato stream deck and just make my own macros for it.

    honestkly i dotn think this channels name is doing too well in 2020 after the word simp was a bit overused

  • @bobbyknc
    @bobbyknc 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If you still have the Thrustmaster Warthog and still flight sim on the side, you should consider adding some of those videos to the channel, especially if you do MP with others. "Simpit" can refer to flight sim rigs as well as sim racing rigs. Might give some nice variety to the channel when you don't have any racing videos in the pipeline.

    How the hell are you gonna review MFDs as a racing button box and say it doesn't resemble automotives? C'mon thats just stupid.

    what a shit product! Why not use real lcd screens? Because lcd screens are damn cheap these days.
    This product is only 80 euro's, but i'm sure that there are enough people who wouldn't mind to pay
    100 or even 120 dollars when it would have real lcd screens, and then they would sell alot more.

    Why do you keep calling them displays? they aren't a display. They are backlit buttons

    So a "Not-so good" was no automotive realism, for something designed for a flight sim?... Just let that sink in.

    I've always liked these but never bought them. Gimmicky shyte that's actually useful too--a marketer's wet dream! If the price was the same but they had a real display in them that I could map to MFDs in DCS World, I'd actually buy them!

    Hi Shaun, good to see you back.
    About your show, can you play a bit with your lights? I mean your logo and the racing wheels have some overlight, but behind your body, you can see shadows over and over. Its not bad at all but maybe something to improve.
    Keep up the good work, i love it!!
    Cheers from austria,
    Andi

    It's multiuse for me. I can use it as a macropad, and use it in flight sims. Only downside is that it uses 2 more USB slots, I'm running out of slots lol.

    Is there any company that has actual functioning displays in it?
    80 euros is a lot for a few midi buttons. You can build that shit for less than 30 euros.

    I had hoped the display was some sort of holographic picture on a transparent sheet.
