@blackkey1976 they wouldn't need a fully fleshed out script for each, just a general story arc story boarded out. That way they don't kill off characters that are needed. Well put. The more we support and tolerate Disney's trashing on beloved stories such as Star Wars, the more we let them get away with it. I would not be shocked if Disney baited D&D from GOT so they could just weaken HBO, another media company which they may want to gobble up in the future. Once they do, they may give GOT the Star Wars treatment - if they secured the rights - with all the spin-offs whatever.
In order for a boycott like this to work we would have to boycott ALL of Disney. I am not sure I even know every company they own. Besides Disney doesn't give 1 billionth of a gram of care. All I know is I try to avoid everything that soulless diversified turd squeezes out. My wife loves all the new Marvel crap that been coming out. I cannot watch it because I know it is Disney and they crap on everything they own (I hear Cinderella really gets into it.) Either way the damage is done, the Star Wars franchise is ruined. I will not say what it is because the internet would find a way to crush IT as well. Peace and Love.

@@dutchbosoxfan8919 Except that it being a bad movie is actually not a matter of opinion. There are actually objective elements of good storytelling and TLJ habitually violates them. Now here comes your impasse: if you really believe that all storytelling is subjective, then there are no objective points you can offer in defense of TLJ and you just quietly go away. If, however, you attempt to carry the point beyond this stage, you must do so by offering objective storytelling elements to support your argument thus demonstrating that it is not, in fact, a matter of opinion and opening TLJ to OBJECTIVE criticism. The standard by which I and so many others make the claim that TLJ was a bad movie.

Funny enough not all SJW actually think this trilogy is doing well by its characters. I lurk in a website that is definitely leans SJW and a few of them feel Rey was shafted hard in TLJ. She forgets what happened maybe a week before to ship herself off to save a guy who tortured her before. Finn was made into a joke. Also Rose deserves a better part because she is an actress of color. I actually agree with some of their points. Though Tico can go to hell. Nothing against the actress and I loath Ren more but her character was pointless and if they cut her out of IX what would we lose? The new definition of insanity: giving JJ Abrams the keys to the Star Wars universe over and over, expecting different results. The only thing worse than a JJ Abrams Star Wars film is a Rian Johnson Star Wars film.
They bought Star Wars to destroy something that Hollywood had ever dare dreamed of doing, making an original film that was and is generationally beloved.
Original? Not really. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the hell out of Star Wars movies, but most of what George Lucas did in Star Wars movies was take influences from all over the place, Flash Gordon serials, Rudyard Kipling (the forest scenes in Return of the Jedi obviously took inspiration from "The Man Who Would Be King" , Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter stories, Western movies, Akira Kurosawa movies, French Science Fiction and Fantasy comics (Metal Hurlant, Valerian), Frank Herbert's Dune, Wushu and Kung Fu movie archetypes, old faery tales with Princesses and Sorcerers, World War 2 movies, Marvel's Dr. Doom character, David Lean's Arabian Lawrence and a bunch of other influences thrown into the mix, to create his own movie universe. Again, I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but Star Wars movies are basically the style of 1930's-1940's serials with their cliffhanger scenes, transformed into big budget, 2 hour movies. Not entirely original, but aside from something like Planet of the Apes, not many people had done anything like this on a large scale.
Nah! Batwoman takes the cake for that ... remember the quote : "It's going to be perfect when it fits a woman." and then takes all of Batman's gears/gadgets and legacy to claim it all for herself.

The Prequels were mostly green screen? Ha! In essence, the Original Trilogy was also mostly blue screen. The thing is, each Prequel movie has more practical effects than the entire OT combined. Lucas shot many scenes on location as well, not just in a studio. JJ clearly didn't do his research right. Blue/green screens don't strictly mean 100% digital. Lucas used those in both the OT & PT to superimpose PRACTICAL miniature sets/models, then put live action actors on top. In contrast, modern movie makers almost exclusively use green screen to superimpose DIGITALLY MADE environments.
I would instantly forgive star wars if at the end of everything Revan stepped out of the shadows and back handed Rey across the room, ran kylo through the gut with a lightsaber. Called him a pathetic sith before force pushing him into a wall and turning around to use his own lightsaber abilities to dual Rey for the half second it would take for him to beat her down, remove her arms, kick her in the face and finally finish her off with electrocution. All while force ghost palpatine laughed at they for thinking they were edgy and cool. Neither one of them have truly suffered. Truly earned their suffering for their past.

@@corruptangel6793You are right. I was primarily comparing Jaina to Ray being they would be the faces of their story lines, but the Legacy Story had many more strong females. For all of its flaws, the prequel trilogy had a coherent beginning, middle, and end, i.e. it started with a Plan! Episode III was great. Episode II built the world for the Clone Wars series, also great.
Personally I think the story was fine. The acting and writing needed some work. It still largely told a story that added to the universe. So far I have no idea what the ST actually added. The planets are bland. The bad guys are a rehash that don’t even look all that cool visually. I might be the only person who thinks so but to this day I think Kylo’s saber is stupid. The new aliens hardly contribute so they don’t really had anything. Also the color palette for them doesn’t stand out so they fade in the background in a way that the PT aliens especially didn’t. So far non of the new characters aren’t making me want to know more about them except for how they contribute to ruining the OT heroes lives. About the only new character I still like is BB8 and that is because it is cute.

THE BOYCOTT AWAKENS!
Time to subvert Disney's expectations at the box office AGAIN.
With ya all the the way 😀
In order for a boycott like this to work we would have to boycott ALL of Disney. I knew it was going to happen as soon as I saw Lucas sold it to them for that ridiculous sum of money ($4 billion + or some insane thing.) At least I still have 1 childhood dream left. I will not say what it is because the internet would find a way to crush IT as well. Peace and Love.

At least it was his world though. Lucas made the original Star Wars so he had every right to make the prequels how he wanted.

D Roe agreed. He wasn’t going to do anything with Star Wars - probably because of the hate and not needing the money. If someone offered 4 billion for something you don’t use anymore you’d take it. There’s a lot of revisionist history now regarding the prequels, they were hated and canned as much as the new trilogy is. But everyone is now saying they were ok and George Lucas was ok and the new ones aren’t his vision and all this nonsense. They can’t admit to themselves that they are doing the same thing to the new movies as they did to the prequels. Too many know it all whingers. You have your opinion, I have mine.

@Maintenance Renegade
I believe there are people like that out there, but they are not getting recognition for that. You know, negativity sells, so you hear more about incompetent people instead of competent ones. A good story is not really a story these days. If you hear about something good you do not run to every corner of Earth in order to spread the info, but if you feel outraged about something people will be vocal about it. That's just how the world works. You see an article titled: "A cure for cancer has been finally discovered!" Reading that headline will be enough for you if you're not related to the illness, so it will not get as many clicks as an article titled: "People are getting mad! A petition to remake Game of Thrones has almost reached 1600000 signatures!" would have.
@Maintenance Renegade There are so many good writers out there.who can't get a look-in.

Titan360 I think we are suppose to be motivated for Ren’s fate. Since I want him to die in the first five minutes unredeemed I doubt it is going to happen. A preachy character that cared more about animals than slave children. Nothing against the actress and she didn’t deserve the hate but the character is worthless. Sigh couldn’t even get that small amount from TROS.
Why are you talking about SJWs? It’s just a movie. I really don’t get it. Let’s say the last two were the worst movies of all time, so what? I paid $12 to go see a movie with family and have a good time. The movies sucked but I had a great time going out with family to see a Star Wars movie. Talk about how bad it was or what they could’ve done differently. This whole thread is stupid. Also, to say there is NO REASON to believe this movie will be better is literally the most pessimistic Hatorade I’ve ever seen. You’re right, there’s not a single thing on this Earth that could make Episode 9 a good movie. Not a single solitary person can change the franchise around........ Why the fuck are you even watching Star Wars videos if that’s the case?

"And it's about the sins of the father, and it's the the wisdom and the accomplishments of those who did great things, but it's also those who committed atrocities, the idea that this group is up against this unspeakable evil and are they prepared? What have they learned from before? It's less about the grandeur. It's less about restoring an old age. It's more about preserving a sense of freedom..."
Motherfucker, you just described the OT! We always said the Sequals were a bad ripoff of the OT but damn!
The sad part is they throw out the EU for this shitty story. The story they had in the books already where better. Could you Imagine if they did the rise, and fall of Darth Caedus as a movie trilogy. Jaina Solo was the hero at the end of that story line. So they could have still had their strong female hero, but she would be a badass hero rather then a mary sue just tossed in to be there.
@@DarthSoto78 there's no way they could do any justice to the Legacy of the Force storyline in 3 movies. That's 9 books. It would take a 6 movie saga minimum. And even then the movies should have to be nearly 3 hours each.
That said, I agree with the rest of your comment. It also would have made a great parallel saga to George's own. Especially since Jacen's fall was such a great parallel to Anakin's and so many events mirrored the events in the OT and PT.
@@corruptangel6793 I would take 6 very good movies over 3 shitty movies any day. Look at the MCU for MOST part no one has complained about there being three movies every year. Though the last three MCU movies where hit, and miss.
@@DarthSoto78 agreed. Plus, I just remembered, there a lot more strong and independent female characters in the Legacy of the Force storyline than there are in the sequals:
Jaina, Leia, Mara Jade, Master Saba, Master Cilgal, Tahari Vaila, (all of whom are Jedi Knights or Masters on the High Council) Lumiya, Aleema Rar, (The villains) Admiral Niathal, Admiral Daala, Tenal Ka and the leader of Corellia in the first book. (Female leaders of the military or entire worlds. Hell, Tenal Ka is a Jedi Knight who's also the leader of a feminist civilization!) of All of whom are main and support characters who'r integral to the story. Not to mention 2 other female Jedi members on the High Council, one of whom gets into a vicious lightsaber battle with Lumiya and Aleema. Can't get much more female empowered than a 1v2 woman only lightsaber battle.
Meanwhile, the sequals that are pushing for strong female characters just have Rey, Leia, Rose, Vice Admiral Holdo and Phasma as their named characters. So far at least.
@@corruptangel6793You are right. I was primarily comparing Jaina to Ray being they would be the faces of their story lines, but the Legacy Story had many more strong females. Who where actually badasses. Plus the Lumiya being the big villain that leads Jacen to the DS was female. Which I think would be more interesting then Snoke was. With how cool Lightsabers are could you imagine the first time the audience (most who don't know the EU) saw Lumiya's light whip.
Point is they already had a better story they own the rights to, and throw it out for a really shitty story line.
After "the farce awakens" (pun intended), I decided not to watch any more of their films.
I'm glad to see so many people coming to the same conclusion.
Oren Elbaz _Stupid Wars: The Latest Junk_ summarizes what the series has become.
**Proof:** Toys sit on shelves not selling.
i was in line May 25, 1977. it was an excitement of a lifetime! the next two movies were fun and legendary as well. i actually got to work on "Jedi". another thrill of a lifetime! but since the franchise restarted in 98. no more more anticipation or excitement.
prequeals are really good compared to the last dogshit trilogy
gona go mourn in dark forces 2 jedi knight sbx 2.0 mod
where do I get that mod?
Ekim Aulthar try googling sbx 2.0 should be one of the first websites that comes up
Dude I got an ad on this video for The Plague Tale and it had Sean Bean reciting a poem as like... the whole ad, and somehow that made me want to buy it
For all of its flaws, the prequel trilogy had a coherent beginning, middle, and end, i.e. it started with a Plan!
Just one time, a new kind of lightsaber was awesome. That was Darth maul. Everything since that is just trying to reproduce that moment in ep1
I'm going to put his face over my dart board, lol
Me, in my punching bag, his face looks so punchable
your darth board :D
Don’t forget KK & RJ.
I watched the OT in 1977 and went to see EP 8 and I am NOT excited for this or any other film from Lucasfilm.
dont please. Lets send them a message.
yup... me too. And according to Disney, we don't count.
Apparently, the current 23 year old fan who'd rather play candy smash on their iPhone and who thinks the old SW movies are boring is a more valued audience then us folks who saw it in 1977, and countless times since and who spent hundreds to thousands of dollars each on SW products. Gotta love SJW logic.
@@Bawbster1 what the fuck is with all the hate towards young people? What the hell is wrong with you people? Baby boomers, worst generation ever: hateful, wasteful and pretty much ruined the planet.
Your generation is full of retards with no social skills and no criteria, who will believe any crap spouted by the media, like our planet is being ruined by...whomever.
But don't worry, I always found my generation is also mostly idiots who think the same crap as yours. Mist of peoole are just normies, regardless of age. In time you will see older people are always trash talking the younger.
is that a duck flying with a banner that says "nobody cares!"
yep, that's what it is. SW is dead, it was killed by RJ.
Jar Jar Abrams killed it before Ruin Johnson got his turn.
Skywalker already rose, *HE* is called *LUKE.*
