Has your dog made any improvement?
This dog reminds me so, so, so much of my lanky 5-yr-old Malty. Got her at 3 months and she tried to hide under the 4-inch cupboard edge, looking like a water spider, as soon as I got her home. Spent months on confidence-building exercises. Vets always thought she was an angel, but she was just virtually terrified into paralysis. Still not a great dog by any means and barks way too much, but is a sweetheart I would never want to hurt, and she gives sweet kisses. I guess somebody has to love her and take care of her, and that job is mine.

She went to Shannon and showed that she could be trusted by rolling on her back, because Shannon is calm and so the dog can feel our emotions. She knew Shannon could be trusted. My collie is the exact same. Great job guys! Your content is always excellent
She reminds me so much of my dog who passed away a few months ago. He lived 11 years with us. He was a Great Pyrenees and the bigger one of his litter, who was the only one left. The owner of the litter was going to keep it since nobody wanted him. He was very shy and fearful and would pee when meeting strangers, and he was as shy with new things as when he was a baby in his older years. He ended up being a very intelligent, calm and kind dog who loved love and affection, and remained loyal until his last breath 😭. Hope people give a chance to the shy and fearful ones, because they can be as wonderful!
Lun Channel, I ended up picking a shy dog from the litter, she needed someone who has worked with dogs I’ve trained many dogs, at first I thought bad move, however she is so coming out of her shell, someone else may have rehomed her. She is only eleven months but showing such growth mentality, now if people could just know the way to act around her that would be great.
@@carolemuenzer5490 they can become the most loyal and loving dogs if people just get to understand them and respect their boundaries, but also as an owner, take the time and patience to give the dog confidence training and introduce new things, people and experiences slowly. My family never had a more calm and well behaved dog before him and he’ll be forever missed and remembered 😭.
My dog has the same condition as your dog and, he loves me soooo much! He is a mini schnauzer, the most shy dog in the litter and is the last one left and picked by me… 😅he is turning 2 years old this month, I really want to help him to be more brave ❤

Mine is just fine with me, and will go up to and sniff other people if they ignore him, but as soon as they actually look at him, he gets scared. He would absolutely never crawl into a stranger's lap. It took us 9 months with our trainer before he would let her pet him. Thankfully we finally found a vet that can work with him.

It's always a good idea to let the animal come to you if you're meeting them for the first time. To ask the owner if you might pet them too. My dog has sensitive areas on his body due to operations, others don't like to get their ears touched. It's a lot safer to ask 💚

This is just like our aussie! She's almost 2, and we've learned so much about her. She can be around hundreds of people and be focused on us and confident, but definitely is unsure when someone tries to say hello. We have people ignore her and similar to this pup, she will eventually choose to go up :)

Hi! This was a great video! I have a 6 month old sheltie that we have had for a month and he has missed the golden window of socialization so he is very nervous around strangers, cars and any loud noise. He is very confident in our small (VERY SMALL) back yard as well as our house but he gets very anxious walking outside. He seems to be not interested in walking on concrete so we walk with him in large patches of grass. Would you have any tips on getting him to be more confident while walking and getting him to get used to walking on the sidewalk? Currently he just sits down when we try to get him to walk where we want and we have to kind of follow him around when we're on "walks"
This pup is too cute. I have a very timid puppy that is coming out of her shell, but people have put their dogs in her face, I had told them no, but some people don’t get it, they thought my dog has aggressive because she was scared and snapped. Now a lot of my work with her is set back. Well there’s no cure for stupid is there?
My 4 year old Border Collie is getting mych better but we still have issues in some new environments. She's especially scared of loud noises and will bolt for the house when we're playing outside and a loud noise happens ( close gunshot, thunder, fireworks). If inside and noise like thunder is loud she tries to squeeze under cabinets, desks etc. Although sometimes she's fine just going to her kennel.

My dog puts her head down like that when you ask her to do something she doesn’t want to do. Other wise she belly’s up
