Do you put the toys up in the evening time?I have q three month old shih tzu and in the evening time he runs like crazy in my apartment and he is crazy some times.
Thank you thank you thank you! You saved my sanity. I applied the three biting videos to my 11 week old golden and she stopped biting in 2 days! She also learned sit, lay down and leave it using the same principles in 3 days! I am amazed!!! God bless you!
Whoever have a thumbs down is either brain dead or jealous. As a 25+ years animal trainer, these are great videos. Not only are they appropriate and obviously proven, the explanations are so clear and to the point for any level owner to have as a training resource. I am a breeder and am very glad to have these to point puppy families to.
She is working with a calm natured puppy. Most people are watching this because their pup is nothing like the dog she uses. The people watch have strong willed reactive puppies who throw a tantrum when corrected. This will be why there are thumbs down. I want to see her work with a strong willed dog.
@@miehai444 We started at 6 weeks, the pup will be comforted by a security item, we used a squeeky toy. Also position the crate where the pup can see you. We make sure the pup is tired from a training session, exercises, is fed, pottied and has had a drink of water. Also we put in a chew bone if we want her to be in there awhile. Don't leave the dog unsupervised for the first few days in the crate, and keep it short the first few times, stretching it out gradually. Ignore whines, but if it gets too loud or insisting then a quick correction is called for, by a 'Hssst!' sound, or a firm 'no.' Reward with treats for a cessation of the whines for the first few times, with a 'yes!' to point out the desired behavior, and gradually replace the treats with verbal praise. Patience is key. Good luck!
Our pup (Chessie) is 9 months now. We followed this method after watching this video. It took a few months and persistence but it has finally paid off. Just like raising kids, consistency is key. If you aren’t consistent you are sending mixed messages…they can’t rise to your expectations if they don’t know what that expectation is.
I cannot emphasize the benefits of early “touch” training enough!! From the moment I brought my two ten-week old pups home, I touched them everywhere. Everywhere! They’re shih tzu and very quick and intelligent, very quick learners. I wanted to make sure they would be calm and relaxed at the vet’s office and at the groomer’s. When we finally got to the first grooming session, my groomer said she hadn’t encountered such cooperative PUPPIES in a LONG time. And she sees a TON of dogs on a VERY frequent basis. She said they were actually better behaved than many adult dogs she groomed and she had zero problems in cutting their hair or bathing or anything. Even trimming their nails. The best part? My pups are comfortable with both nail clippers AND nail grinders. I also trained my pups to allow me to take things out of their mouths.
I'm on my second day here. Thats my sentiment. Funny thing is I did this before with my last pup. But I convienitely forgot all the pain of training lol.
It is fun. It’s a lot of work at first getting then used to new people, new home, new everything but once they’ve settled in they’re much easier. Just make sure they get enough exercise. A game of fetch is great. Tug of war is too but my pup Eva is very into it and she doesn’t like letting go so I don’t play anymore.
OMG this works so well. My 11wk old has been somewhat a nightmare with biting. I began this yesterday and am already seeing a significant improvement. I cannot thank you enough. S
These puppies already look like they’ve been trained. I’d like to see a normal wild hyper puppy be trained. That would be VERY helpful. (This Australian shepherd puppy looks like it’s about to fall asleep. Our puppy rarely sleeps and is hyper almost constantly and that’s with 1 -2 hour long walks a day!!)
You shouldn’t be taking your puppy out for that long of walks. A good rule of thumb is 5 minutes for every month they are. And they shouldn’t be awake for more then an hour at a time. Most of time they should sleeping. Trying to tire them out produces the opposite affect their brain releases seratonin to help them cope with being up and active more and you end up with a over active hyper puppy that won’t fall asleep. Would try cutting down your walks and play time. And keeping him in a crate for at least 1-2 hours at a time
Agreed. "Going through settling techniques" when they're hyper and not having been trained for 20 minutes off camera doesn't necessarily work. I find this misleading.
I agree. My pup is way more excited and biting like crazy. She’s also younger than any of the pups I’ve seen in these videos. She’s about 12 weeks old. A small collar won’t even fit her snuggly yet. Would have gotten xsmall but they are made very thin. Oh well, we’re working on it. She’s a biting machine right now. 😮
I watched all your videos on puppy biting and got over myself and cut up a leash yesterday since I was so tired and hurt from all his biting especially during witching hour. Little man responded immediately and got calmed down right away with the technique. Thank you so much for your videos
I'm a new Subscriber. I'm a former County 4-H Dog Agility Leader, and Dog Obedience Assistant. Folks, I can tell you it is way different training adult dogs vs training a puppy! I recently adopted a 10 wk old pup, (mutt). She's the most bitey thing I've seen! I love the McCann Dog Training techniques with these 6 months and under puppies. Its SO important to create a strong discipline foundation in puppies: You're happier and they're happier! Thank you McCanns for these excellent videos. Very sound expertise!!!
Simple tips and excellent advice, worked for my nipping husky puppy.. in fact I was making mistakes I didn’t realize I was making this literally solved my problem in under 20 minutes.
This is the best video on puppy biting. The settle/collar method works incredibly well and I'm so happy to have learned a method that's positive reinforcement. I am very experienced with dog training, but found myself unprepared for the biting challenge of my new Jack Russell puppy. Yipping/saying "ouch" does not work. This does. Thank you!
I can not thank you enough for all the details you have shown on this video. i have been struggling with my puppy bitting me all the time and trust me i am paying a fortune for a trainer bit no help. i just tried your way and it actually working.
Great video thank you. I'm 62 yrs old, our new 20 lbs, 10 week old female gsd is crazy with teething. I look like an ad for bandaides. I now keep a good pair of garden gloves ready, my old hands and wrist thank me. I wear long pants socks and shoes too. Happy training everyone.
OMG. THANK YOU! This has made a huge difference in just 3 hrs. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am going to follow your site and watch all your videos. I was doing a lot of things wrong even though I've always had dogs. What a difference with our 9week bitey puppy.
All of your puppy biting vids has helped a lot already!! I just found your acc today and you are a life saver. I tried so many things and nothing worked until I found your account
Great video. I learned that you have to also praise and reward puppy while handling the collar to not be associated with punishment. Your previous puppy biting video has helped me and my girlfriend so much with our 12 week sheltie. I let him nip while playing with me only on my terms and he's starting to learn that he has to stop it when I tell him to. All thanks to your collar handling and "puppy raising" advice. It's worked way better than only by rewarding good behaviour.
I love ur approach of being gentle but firm I see to many videos of people using way to harsh of techniques on their dogs and this seems like the perfect happy medium I’m so glad I found ur channel
They need several different dogs in this video. That reaction to the collar grab was unbelievably calm, my dog would whip around and bite and if I did what she did he would go crazy because he is strong willed and fights my correction rather than submits. The majority of people are here because they have a strong willed dog who fights back. So they need to demonstrate with a dog like this.
Try having treat in one hand and when you grab the collar, give the treat, and repeat, until he’s more interested in the treat than what your other hand is doing.
@@Emily-ml7bm yes he knows how to be calm and allow me to handle his collar and everything, but I mean when I tell him off, one little grip like what they do and he goes into the crocodile death roll. I'm not going to hold a treat above his nose right after I tell him off just to distract him.
I have a 2 year old Pug and his little neice, age 12 weeks. I had a trainer come in before I knew his little niece would be arriving home in early November-and she's a little honey! Being a flat faced breed, I avoided using any kind of collar restraint, and my boy was demanding, barking and not consistently hearing me or my husband. He is good walking on a leash and at the dog park with a wooded grassy area above a ravine for walking. He does walk well off leash and those walks with him are my favorite thing to do with him. She showed me how to teach him to settle using a gentle downward pull/ pressure with an attached line on his collar towards the floor. There is no pressure on his trachea at all. This is what I am doing with Emma Rose for training. Thank you for the video! I hope to have both of my beloved Pugs well mannered and well trained.
Also: could you address the different needs regarding handling bracephalic breeds because of the tendency of BOAS? Most knowlegable owners use a harness as I did but have difficulty with some training issues because of that. having used multiple different harnesses, It has taken me forever to get my boy to stop pulling-probably why I enjoy those off leash walks!
We just got our first Aussie with a second on the way this fall and with 3 young children (two 5 yr olds and a 3 yr old) this information is so very helpful! Thank you so much!
We were total rookies when we got a Border puppy. We loved having such a smart dog, but he was definitely using all those smarts to try to train us. I wish we had had these videos back then. I would never take on another Border Collie without being prepared to do this kind of training! Thank you for doing these!
I'm running into this with my pit puppy. I had a boxer years ago and she was FAR easier than this pit! I also had help back then versus now. Fully exposing my inexperience and novice doggie daddy abilities!
Hey there, my name is Paul I live in the UK and in a couple of months my partner and I will be getting a Rottweiler puppy already named her Athena. Was online reading a whole bunch of stuff and came across at your videos on TH-cam and I have to say a big thank you words are all well and good but seeing it in practice and seeing a person actually do it is essential especially for me I’m a very visual learner. So between now and the time we pick up our little girl I will be doing some training with your videos meeting watching them understanding them thoroughly buying all the equipment that I need in full preparation for when she arrives. Once again thank you so much for your awesome videos they are very much appreciated specially from us.
Thank you so much for these videos during these quarantine times! What should we be doing for a puppy who is biting our blankets and feet while we are sitting on a couch with them on the floor. Should we get up and walk away if he isn't responding to staying down?
Your pup is sensitive to a collar grab so use a leash instead, meaning keep one on him and then pick it up, and lead to go on walk or time out. If he isn’t too wild, then play or exercise him (if he’s under stimulated) or time out (if he’s over stimulated).
I thought that leashing my 10 wek old pup while running around indoors seemed ridiculous but I tried it and it's really working. I didn't realize how often I was redirecting him with my hands and my feet which caused more biting. He's so much calmer now that I can just pick up the leash. duh
I'm currently dealing with this exact issue, particularly zoomie hour. My pupper (5 month old Rotti girl) recently had (maybe still has, it was the last day of her anti biotics today) a bladder infection, and the weather's been bad (cold and damp), so I couldn't take her outside to play and walk her as much as I'd have liked to. And because she's still a bit wild and clumsy, I couldn't play that much with her indoors either. So it got especially bad, usually right after waking up from a nap. She'd be so well behaved most of the day, during the walks, and then she'd go into insane doggo mode, zooming around going for curtains, table and chair legs, etc. and nipping at peoples' hands, legs, feet, etc. I've got her to calm down a bit over the last day, but this video should help a lot.
So I am training two mischievous1/2 pit bull 1/2 American eskimo puppies right now I have been watching 👀 your videos the puppies of course are crazy energy and are 4 months old they are sisters. So far I have taught them to sit, stay, heel, wait patiently for their food , and to respect the door by watching your videos.
Thanks so much for your training videos; just started watching them; this is our 4th one; have a 10-week pup and want it to be a great experience for us all!
My boxer puppy is 11 weeks and he gets crazy and tries nippy and barking when he wants my attention. I do take hold of his collar but he doesn’t readily settle. I think I’m doing the right thing but just need to continue to consistently train handling his collar and all the simple training techniques to develop the relationship.
Hi Patricia. My Boxer mix puppy is 12 weeks old and also has a ton of energy that she's not always sure how to express. I have found that she does need correction in order to respect me, but she also needs specific praise to learn what I do want. I watch for behaviors that I like and praise her for them. Like when she wants to be frisky but finally lays down I say, "Good down! I like down! Good girl!" She looks at me like, "Oh, that's what you want! Ok, I can do that again." I also taught mine to "Whisper" instead of bark. I waited until I heard a tiny, soft bark and I whispered, "Good whisper. I like whisper." And I say loudly, "Ah, Ah!" When she barks. Then I whisper, "We have to whisper." She mimicks my soft tone and I praise her in a whisper. It's completely adorable and allows for more fun interaction than being barked at. I hope it helps you, too! 💞🤗🐾
Hello and thank you for this video! 2 questions: 1)for the leash/line that is attached to the dog throughout the day, what if the puppy keeps chewing at it? Is it okay to allow for that behavior? My 8 week old golden doodle sees the leash as a toy and tends to chew. 2) How do you recommend actually addressing/discipling any chewing/biting? When I am not giving my puppy attention, she starts chewing furniture so I will pull her away . However, she appreciates the attention and will go right back at chewing after
Mine too even at 8 months. I don't keep line on in his pen for safety reasons but yes, if he keeps chewing it, it defeats the purpose. Maybe a shorter one? I keep harness on when not in pen for the handle in the back to grab him. He just loves wood...no nylabone or benebone can come close to the taste/texture of my woodwork or drawers. ; ) I did find bully sticks helpful and kongs etc but wish it wasn't just food. He really doesn't like a lot of the rubber toys alone.
While I typically love your videos, this puppy is WAY too calm. My puppy would be biting at every chance. Please re-do this video when the puppy is wild and crazy, so we can relate and get real help to, "STOP Puppy Biting".
Excellent information, I like that you pointed out how giving the pup a toy if they bite you is very likely doing nothing but rewarding them. I was always super confused by "certain popular online dog trainers" encouraging doing just that. 😁
Thank you so much for such an amazing video. I have a 3 month old chocolate Labrador whose biting has been hard to control to the point where we have had to keep him outside the house. My renewed dog training based on what was shown in this video starts tonight! Key takeaways - leash on the puppy at all times was a revelation! Lots of small treats as rewards is also a revelation. I have been avoiding treats because labs tend to get overweight quickly. Avoiding sitting down at eye level with the puppy during play time was also an interesting point as was the witching hour thing. Didn’t realise it was a thing
Thank you for these very helpful videos. We just got our 8 week year old West Highland Terrier on Sunday and? Wow. It's been 19 years since we last had a puppy so we have your videos on repeat. Parker has just found what his teeth are for (nipping and biting....or so he thinks) so this episode is perfect. I was watching this video while he was sleeping on my foot and heard your voice and woke up, wondering where you were...LOL. Thanks again for your concise, easy and VERY easy to follow videos.
I'm here because of the puncture wounds on my wrists and the dried blood around my ankles 🙄. I think I have been under the spell of my new pup's cuteness and so allowing her to have "fun" and "play" with me. But the pain was real yesterday when she jumped at my face (yep, while on the bed) and bit my ear baaad. I'm forwarding this vid to my husband - subject line: "All the things we are doing wrong, here, in one video!"
Ive been applying the techniques described in videos ive watched from your channel and am super impressed with my puppy Daisy. Wow wow wow … great videos… thank-you so much for taking the time to show us and have a better connection with our fur animals ❤️
My puppy of Maremma shepherd has been soooo difficult to train in terms of biting, she always tries to chew on my clothes, socks, hands, EVERYTHING. Tomorrow I'll have a day off, so it's gonna be the perfect occasion to try this training! Hope this one will work for my little baby dog :)
How is she doing now? I also have a Maremma -Austraian Shepard, 11 weeks. And she chews like you mentioned but also when over stimulated bites at any part of me she can get hands, arms, feet, legs knees... she will sit when I command it but only if she sees food in 1 of my hands.
@@karenmacdonald1359 hi! My puppy is doing really well now, she doesn’t bite as much as before, if I call her out about her behaviour she stops biting immediately. Obviously sometimes when overstimulated during playing sessions she tends to nibble a bit, not in any harmful way, she just suck my fingers. I think that growing helped her to be more calm, but till 3 months ago she kept on being quite “aggressive”. What helped her the most was my punishments as scolding her a bit like saying “no” or instantly stopping her behaviour by making her sit. Hope my comment was helpful!
@@alessandraspano2463 did the collar and leash help though? Got a 11 week cockapoo and although I'm fine with her all day albeit a bit annoyed when she has a mad hour. It's my dad that has the problems as he works from home and he's extremely stressed.
I can’t wait to try these techniques today! We have an Australian shepherd/boxer mix and I swear she gets more hype when you say no and “talks” back all the time 🤦🏾♀️🤣 going to get another lead for the house so I can cut the end off!
I am so happy and grateful to have found you! I've been watching your very helpful videos and can't wait to imply these training techniques. We are in the process of rescuing a new furry family member and want to have a well-behaved pup and these videos will help us to be successful!
Thank you for this video. I have tried everything to stop my puppy from biting while on the couch. I never thought to put him in the floor, make him sit then give him a treat. It seems to be working.
I'm confused, I have seen other videos and sites that say to just let them bite till they get bored which seems counterproductive to me, but they swear it works.
Hi and thank you for the video! My adult foster dog is still used to nipping at hands and ankles while playing - do you think the collar correction method can still apply? I would love to set him up for success.
What type of collar are you using in this video and could you describe the way you are correcting the dog a little more? Grabbing the leash as close to the collar as possible and then pulling it to the side? Thanks so much for this wonderful advice.
My puppy is nowhere near this calm, he goes psycho if I try and grab his collar when he’s in his mood....if you want a crazy pup to do a video with...mines free😊🐶
Hi, thank you for the video. What do you do when the puppy starts biting on the short leash that's dragging after her? My doberman is 8 weeks old. She also nips and bites a bit at my 5 year old daughter when she's wearing dresses. It's not too bad as we are constantly looking to correct her behaviour and I'm with her all day, but I want her to be a high-level k9 that doesn't hesitate on commands. She sleeps in a closed crate without whining, but if she's not sleeping yet and sees me walk away the separation anxiety kicks in. I pick her up to take her down the stairs to my walk-out basement to get to the backyard (waiting to vaccinate her before I take her out), and because she is scared of the stairs (going down) she gets reluctant for to all the way to me for me to pick her up. I noticed it transitioned to even when not at the stairs she has moment when she'll resist, even though I'm working on re-call all the time and got her to drop the leaf and run to me yesterday. That was nice to see. Overall, she's amazing. Getting up ever 1.5 hours at the moment for her not to have accidents at night, and watching her patterns throughout the day. Hope to get your opinion!
I love your videos! Me and my husband are first time puppy owners and your videos work first time every time with our 3 month old sausage dog. Thank you so much!!!!!
How do I train my new American Shepherd who is 8 weeks old and has zero interest in treats? I've tried 3 different small, soft treats but he won't do anything more than take them a few feet away, drop them, then come back. I've been using petting and getting excited and tell him he's a good boy as a replacement for treats. I want do the training of getting him used to getting grabbed by my toddler's. Thanks to anyone who can help! Great video!

I am curently trying to crate train my 4mo puppy. She is in the cage mainly while I am work and I use it, not to punish her but more like a time out when she gets nippy with the other dogs (which usually means she is ready for a nap) or when its time for her to eat. Once she calms down/wakes up, I will allow her to come back out.
I’ve learned a whole bunch of helpful things the past 5 weeks with my standard schnauzer at home. I will note though, that since he is a smaller breed, my hand sliding into his collar usually gets him to be ultra slippery and he defaults to flipping over on his back and using hands and feet to try and defend himself. Any tips for keeping smaller breeds on their feet and in a submissive pose while handling their collar for discipline?
I'm sorry what I saw was a puppy who was already pretty well trained. He wasn't that wild. He didn't if a couple times. But he responded so quickly to her that you could see it already been trained. I did get some tips on what to do when they nip, like the collar grab, also being above them, and also keeping them on a leash in the house more. I have a Blue Heeler pup that does bite quite a bit. After 2 months. He still bites but not as hard and now we're he's breaking the skin anymore LOL. But I don't keep them on a leash the house and I'll try that.
I love your approach-it makes sense! I have a teacup Pomeranian who is 13 weeks old and she does a lot of nipping so the timing of this video is perfect! The biggest problem I’m having is she hates the collar and keeps chewing on it and gets her lower jaw under the collar. She is so small and it’s hard to find a collar small enough where she can’t get her jaw underneath. Any suggestions?
Our puppy is now 4 months old. We got him at 8 weeks and didn’t think we could survive his constant biting but at about 3 months that heavily subsided and we just knew we always needed something like a yak chew in our hands at all times. We found a piece of driftwood off the beach that is a great chew toy doesn’t splinter. I tied rope on it and a scrunchie and I would just dangle it over him. He loved it. That got me through last month. This past month/ these past few weeks he doesn’t try to eat us that often anymore.
Would like to watch the 20 mins before this .....so I can apply it to my German shep lab puppy I just got....she bites super hard if I do something she doesn't like. There is more to the story....would love some specific tips...can I contact the McCann crew?
Seeing results on the first day. I also watched your other video about puppy nipping but using the collar was a huge leap in progress! Taking it day by day but establishing controls was a BIG first step.
The video I have been searching for!!! 11 week Australian shepard who is a land shark. Tried the ouch method, and it 70% of the time gets ignored. Have done the settle but need to do a better job with the extra praising at the end! Thanks mccaan dogs! 🥰
I'm loving your videos! We recently got a 17 weeks old Keeshond puppy and I've been putting your training to use . He's very smart and it doing well! Thanks!
The "hand in the collar" part, I always assume that puppers love to be gently scratched or massaged under the collar, it does create an itchy spot and many times the puppers are leaning into it, that's how you know they like it so I'm always giving them some love around the collar. I thought your correction was very nicely done, and I would also do that as well if needed.
I rescued a 2 years old doggy recently and she’s like a big puppy. I have to teach her a lot of things from the beginning. She knows a little bit of the basics, but she’s extremely excited like a puppy. It’s getting better and worse at the same time 😅 She’s getting better at walking and doing commands as well as her crate training. But she started barking and throwing tanthrums at me which she didn’t at first. It’s normal because she’s more comfortable now, but it’s hard sometimes !
I rescued a puppy at 10 weeks old; she's now 6 months. She is very smart, sweet and usually obedient. Today, I was shoveling snow and she has never seen a snow shovel so as I was shoveling, she was barking and charging at the shovel as I pushed it. After a while, she randomly bit my calf. I yelled at her & immediately removed her behind a gate where she can see me. She knew she was in trouble. I think she reacted impulsively and was maybe over excited? When I brought her inside, I put her in her play pen cage with her toys. She knew she was in trouble; she immediately layed down, didn't cry or bark to get out like she usually does. What should I have done differently to teach her not to bite again? Is there anything I can do now-after the fact? I'm upset with her, she left a mark w/2 punctures.Of course, she has nipped when she was smaller and sometimes when I play with her and her toys, she barks at me and may get my hand in her mouth but has never chomped on me. What should I do proactively to prevent it from happening again? How can I train her never to bite, even when playing? HELP!

Does this require a collar or is a harness just as effective?
How do we extend this to general principle as to teach the dog not to do something while avoiding negative reinforcement?

I cannot emphasize the benefits of early “touch” training enough!! From the moment I brought my two ten-week old pups home, I touched them everywhere. Everywhere! They’re shih tzu and very quick and intelligent, very quick learners. I wanted to make sure they would be calm and relaxed at the vet’s office and at the groomer’s.
Lol! My sentiments exactly.
I'm two weeks in... Totally agree with your statement!
Literally me rn
OMG this works so well. My 11wk old has been somewhat a nightmare with biting. I began this yesterday and am already seeing a significant improvement. I cannot thank you enough. S
Hello Corona how are you doing today
And keeping him in a crate for at least 1-2 hours at a time
Hello Kim how are you doing today

Hello Marla how are you doing today
All of your puppy biting vids has helped a lot already!! I just found your acc today and you are a life saver. I tried so many things and nothing worked until I found your account
Great video. I learned that you have to also praise and reward puppy while handling the collar to not be associated with punishment. Your previous puppy biting video has helped me and my girlfriend so much with our 12 week sheltie. I let him nip while playing with me only on my terms and he's starting to learn that he has to stop it when I tell him to. All thanks to your collar handling and "puppy raising" advice. It's worked way better than only by rewarding good behaviour.
Glad you found it so helpful! Thanks for watching ~Ken
You guys are truly professionals. Thanks for sharing all that much needed information.
Finally someone who explains procedures thoroughly, just realized I been doing everything wrong, your videos are great. Thank you
Hello Manuel how are you doing today
Literally the only helpful video about the topic on TH-cam. Thanks.
This 👌🏼
I think you have the same Croc dog as me!
They have another video: "How to stop your puppy from biting" that addresses exactly this.

I learned about your videos some time ago, and have been subscribed for several months. Thanks for making these videos!

Hello how are you doing today
Have a 8 week old GSD and after following these tips early this morning, she is doing sooo much better with her nipping and biting. Thanks a bunch.
Thank you for doing these!
i was such a rookie, I have a lab collie & I had no experience w puppies, so I was using techniques that I should’ve never used
My Border is 14 now, but now I have a 3mo Golden. Golden is far harder to train it seems.
I'm running into this with my pit puppy. I had a boxer years ago and she was FAR easier than this pit! I also had help back then versus now. Fully exposing my inexperience and novice doggie daddy abilities!
I can't even be around my puppy without being bitten... goodbye legs, arms and faces...forget about clothing..
My dogs were listening to this with me. They enjoyed the good boy comments because I praise them this way.

I got my puppy yesterday. I’ve been watching your videos for days and I’m following everything you said and it’s working really well. Thank you.
Thank you so much for these videos during these quarantine times! What should we be doing for a puppy who is biting our blankets and feet while we are sitting on a couch with them on the floor. Should we get up and walk away if he isn't responding to staying down?
whenever i try to grab the collar or calm him down he just bites me and goes even crazier
Your pup is sensitive to a collar grab so use a leash instead, meaning keep one on him and then pick it up, and lead to go on walk or time out. If he isn’t too wild, then play or exercise him (if he’s under stimulated) or time out (if he’s over stimulated).
Mine too. I don't think it's the right way to establish leadership.
SAME WITH MY DOG I don’t wanna whoop him tho I’ll feel bad
Yeah I aint trying to beat my dog ass. Just want him to chill yo
@@Dc9127-d9d it’ll get easier. he’s way better now at 6 months. just be patient and give him some love and keep him busy
Just told my puppy. Look what just got uploaded☺️ let’s watch it!🤨
I thought that leashing my 10 wek old pup while running around indoors seemed ridiculous but I tried it and it's really working. I didn't realize how often I was redirecting him with my hands and my feet which caused more biting. He's so much calmer now that I can just pick up the leash. duh
Amazing isn’t it.
As a new puppy parent, I’ve watched a lot of videos lol and I can honestly say that this channel is the absolute best!!!! ❤️
I was thinking the exact same!

Hello Patricia how are you doing today
Hello and thank you for this video! 2 questions: 1)for the leash/line that is attached to the dog throughout the day, what if the puppy keeps chewing at it? Is it okay to allow for that behavior? My 8 week old golden doodle sees the leash as a toy and tends to chew. 2) How do you recommend actually addressing/discipling any chewing/biting? When I am not giving my puppy attention, she starts chewing furniture so I will pull her away . However, she appreciates the attention and will go right back at chewing after
What did they say to do if this happens? I have the same problem.
I agree.
Agreed! If I put my pup on the floor he’s just be nipping my ankles and pants
My new adopted abandoned pup bites, nips, lunges for face at every opportunity.
I agree with you.
This helps with pups you've already controlled them.

@@sakiynajones I agree. My puppy who is now 10 months old is still nipping. What do I do????

I'm here because of the puncture wounds on my wrists and the dried blood around my ankles 🙄. Hello Chantale how are you doing today

Oops…. Thank you! I am so glad you posted this. We just got our 4mo puppy and needed to see this.
Thank's for telling out loud the age of the puppy, it helps ;) it's a struggle to guess !
What type of collar are you using in this video and could you describe the way you are correcting the dog a little more? Grabbing the leash as close to the collar as possible and then pulling it to the side? Thanks so much for this wonderful advice.

Hello Charlotte how are you doing today

These videos are fantastic and this instructor is great! Thanks for taking the time to post these!
Thank you for the amazing tips! Our puppy is biting at her bed and our slippers and she’s only 8 weeks old, we want to get this under control soon.
Wow, you're amazing. Totally touched all the right points. Thank you so much.
Best puppy training video I've seen. Full of useful tips!

I love your approach-it makes sense! I have a teacup Pomeranian who is 13 weeks old and she does a lot of nipping so the timing of this video is perfect! Glad you found it helpful, Sarah! Thanks for watching ~Ken

I'm loving your videos! We recently got a 17 weeks old Keeshond puppy and I've been putting your training to use . He's very smart and it doing well! Thanks!
Hello
The "hand in the collar" part, I always assume that puppers love to be gently scratched or massaged under the collar, it does create an itchy spot and many times the puppers are leaning into it, that's how you know they like it so I'm always giving them some love around the collar. I thought your correction was very nicely done, and I would also do that as well if needed.

I rescued a 2 years old doggy recently and she’s like a big puppy. I have to teach her a lot of things from the beginning. She knows a little bit of the basics, but she’s extremely excited like a puppy.
It’s getting better and worse at the same time 😅
She’s getting better at walking and doing commands as well as her crate training. But she started barking and throwing tanthrums at me which she didn’t at first. It’s normal because she’s more comfortable now, but it’s hard sometimes !
We have applied to adopt a puppy...pray for us! I’m steeling my nerves for the intense training!
That’s awesome!! Did you guys adopt the puppy?

HELP!
Thank you I just got a poodle puppy and he bites so much this is gonna help because he is biting all the kid too hard.
