thank you you did more than the gopro tech advisers could even think of doing they told me you have to pair each time you turned on your cam after about 6 hours they were no help at all thank you again
Excellent explanations. This is so helpful. When I turn on my Hero 5 and hit connect new devices, the remote is not listed. If I can get past that issue, maybe I'll be able to connect. When I do, then everything in your video will be essential info.
The best video I've actually seen on this device seriously & your the first (I've seen on TH-cam) that shows how to use it too!!! I'm actually contemplating getting this for a first family vacation abroad... Silly question but is it majority beneficial? The only thing that's making me say no is the £79.99 tag that's eye watering 💩!

i can get into pairing mode on my GoPro HERO 6.. (and my new HERO 7)... but it keeps saying - FAILED - on both cameras.... I heard this was because I had a Suptig Remote (that never really worked well) paired with them before.. so is there a way I can get round this problem.. because now I have no remote at all.. and I don't have a mobile phone either.. How can I stop it failing every time....?
It's a shame that GoPro can't set it up, after you have already paired them, to automatically work by simply turning on the remote and turning on the camera... Why do they add extra steps by make it so you have to go in and shut off wireless, then turn it back on again to use the remote..? Makes it a pain to use this $80 remote. They could have accomplished this connection (with low power consumption) by making it a bluetooth connection instead of this high power consumption wi-fi connection. I don't think they thought it thru very well.. If you turn the Hero off and you forget to turn off the wireless does that drain your battery..? I thought the idea of having the remote is to extend battery life.. This sounds like it will kill your batteries if you forget to take the extra steps to turn off the wireless..
At first I thought my remote was dead. This brought everything back to life. Worked perfectly with my Go Pro Hero 5 Black.

To reconnect you have to go through the pairing procedure again once you have charged & turn the camera back on. Sorry about the delay in responding

Hi, I’ve never had a suptig remote or used one but that’s sounds about right. I’ve had no issue with the genuine GoPro remote. Hope this helps
