My apologies. I was knew to the youtube language and speaking to a camera at this point in my youtube progress. I have gotten better. Again my apologies for not speaking clear and getting to the point. I will do better on my next product review.

Thanks for your video..... I received a new replacement smart remote for my Hero 7 Black. I cannot pair it up to save my life..... Probably not recognizing it due to the old one that I had. Any suggestions? I would sincerely appreciate it.
Yes it can. I have the same setup as you. But I have noticed after like a day or two you have to power both on manually for them to reconnect. Not sure how long it takes for them to disconnect like that to where you have to manually power them back on
Yes it will. The remote has a digital display showing you that you are recording and the seconds/minutes of how long you've been recording as well as the recording red indicator light being on as well.
M Latief try using the app discreetly....the remote is waterproof and simple...the app has its place don’t get me wrong. For 70 notes id rather use a remote than a £$€ 800 smart phone when shooting action footage.
Thanks again for your great video..... Came across another problem that you may know of a fix. I have a Hero7 Black and the same oem Smart Remote as in your video. I already paired it up with a GoPro battery which works great. I have an external Anker power bank that will work great with the remote if the battery is installed. If I use just the power bank, the remote will not pair up. I do have WiFi on and GPS on. Do you know of a work around to use my power bank without the battery installed? Thanks again. 😊👍
Unfortunately the battery does have to be installed. Go pro cameras have to sense the battery (battery prongs touching the cameras internal plates) Go pro company has not released a Gopro with these capabilitiesyet. Hopefully fingers crossed they come up with a future Gopro cam with the capability to work without a battery.
@@moto_ak47 Thanks for the quick reply.... I agree, hopefully there will be a fix in the future. Thanks again, appreciate your input and of course, your videos. Keep up the great work. 👍😊
After you are done taking video or photos, you have to turn off the Wireless connection each time to avoid the batteries from going flat. (not necessary to pair every time) and when you turn them back on, you have to go into the settings and turn on wireless to activate the remote. It would have made more sense to have the camera put the Wi-Fi in a sleep mode (so it didn't consume power) when you turn off the camera by Long pressing the power button. and Long pressing the remote power button. I don't know why GoPro hasn't done a firmware update to perform this simple function. Please give feedback to gopro.com and ask them to do an update. I have already... Don't forget to turn off wireless or you will go to use your camera and the battery will be dead and need to be charged again. It is a shame when the I T people don't test the items and fix the bugs before they put an expensive remote on the market.
Thank you Rob, I agree. i did some playing around with both and found this out, luckily before i had to use my camera again because the battery in fact did drain a bit. and i will send some feedback to gopro.com as well.
Thats good to know Rob. I have a question..do I need to have wireless available every time I use the remote? Since I plan to use this on hiking trips, WiFi is not going to be available.
@@russellmeagher2578 There are a couple reasons to have wi-fi turned on, you will need it on to pair to a smart phone for streaming video, or to download updates with your phone, or to use the smart phone as a monitor. Any function like GPS, Bluetooth, wireless require huge amounts of energy and will drain the batteries very quickly, more so if they're all turned on. BTW: the GPS function gages are not even close to accurate (they read 285mph when your traveling on a bicycle) (they read north no matter which direction you are headed) etc. It is a useless function that drains your batter in half the time. Personally, i keep all the wireless functions turned off. I use my desktop computer to manually update the firmware on the MicroSD card with a reader. $20 proprietary batteries are too expensive for only 20 mins of filming.
Hi Russell. No, you just need your WIRELESS Connection tab in your go pro's setting tab, then connections, then scroll to smart remote. and Rob K is correct, thank you.
This video is excellent for a remote review. However, it does not address the numerous issues with charging the GoPro remote. None of the proposed remedies work consistently. GoPro has a serious design flaw with this version as evidenced by the newer version charging configuration. Buying the reviewed version is a waste of money.
Hi. Can you try recording 2.7k and see if the camera freezing not when the remote button is pressed to stop recording? Mine will freeze if resolution I use higher than 1080. I'm using gh7 black and same remote you using now.
Does the remote can preview your photos and videos in your gallery? Coz im having a hard time using my camera underwater and every time i swipe up to view my gallery its not responding due to water thats still on the screen.
@@moto_ak47 Do you lose the bluetooth and wifi connections from the remote to the camera after 8 hours? I don't want to have to turn the camera on to reset the connection every time I use the remote.

That’s what we need. A proprietary charging port. Thanks.
