Part of why he is so good as a singer in Disturbed, David Raiman was classically trained. That's why he has so much control of his voice. Oh! That Lava guitar is way cool!
Note: There weas a small bit of autotune in this put there by the Conan people. David was "less than pleased" when he found out. But the video was already out there and it was too late to fix it. We all know the autotune isn't needed with David's talent.
I believe he was given the stool to sit on as well to help him stay upright due to his illness. Is a true performer doing this as sick as he was and still sounding as brilliant as he did.
This version is very emotional for me for personal reasons, but the way he sings is just so moving and so powerful. He's an incredible singer and his voice is so versatile. Some parts of it do sound almost like the recorded version but I agree the live one is better
David Draiman...one of the best male vocalists on the planet imho. He has a tone to his voice I truly have never heard before. When David sings....you know who it is. He can go from angelic voice to rasp/distortion on a dime and back....not easy to do. Also did you notice he can put vibrato on the rasp/distortion too? VERY difficult to do. Loved your take on it Andrea.
David Draiman really managed to bring this song into life. While the lyrics themselves are strong, S & G didn't manage to bring it to life with emotion. Disturbeds version manages to portay the song so that most can understand the meaning and message of it. It seems they really approached this cover with a lot of respect to Simon and Garfunkel.
Call Paul Simon's one of the guys that wrote the song said this is the best cover he has ever heard it's going to put it on his playlist on his phone that's very high compliments Disturbed arranges all his own music and produces
David hates autotune and was very ill that night. He stated in an interview, the shows producers were concerned that he might have trouble with pitch and did apply autotune to the this. When he found out, he threatend to sue the show. He was so upset that he never again appeared as a guest on the show. I agree, the live version is better than the video version.

I wonder if you even notice just how many times you use the word "like" when you speak...This song is so..like...enchanting...It's so...like...profound and deep...you can tell... like...his notes are so... like...intentional....Sounds like his notes are...like..perfectly pitched....If you want to be taken seriously, you need to stop the child-speak. and express yourself like an adult....like, do you see like what I'm like saying?
True because He's so new to singing he must be a beginner cause he's only singing like from past 30 years! And he even sings 2 hours of rehearsals, sound check and 2 hours of actual performance and still talks and sing good! It's clearly not enough I know!

No auto but word is,they hit the word "voice" with a pitch correction. In this one. The studio version has very little auto tune
