"Some very delicate machine work" grabs a grinder... made me laugh. That is something I'd do too.

Hey! that sounds good, don't get a leaky carb- plus hot exhaust will equal an eventful time😂. Great video Jake👍👍

You’ve got the first bike in history where the previous owner actually drained the fuel from the carb before storing it!

I rode a Yamaha 175 Enduro to high school back in 1976 when I was a much younger man of 16 years of age. Had a few shortcuts down a powerline and through an apple orchard that was at times very muddy so needless to say I'd arrive at school looking a mess. Boy, would I get some dirty looks (pun intended) from the teachers and some students. My shop teacher however loved it.

$120 for a vintage Yamaha is a crazy good deal. I tried buying a beat up Suzuki TM100 for a winter project. It looked worse that your DT. They were asking $750 and I didn't even get a chance to take a look. It sold the same day..

about 10 years ago I rebuilt one of those . Mine was 1972 and I paid an embarrising amount of money for it. (700 Canadian Dollars). I was able to get a lot of NOS parts off Ebay.
Later on to get it road legal I changed all the brake tail and signal lights to LED 12 volt.
I also replaced all thos JIS (Japanese Philips) bolts with torx or hex heads.
Where did you get your JIS Bits? I've been looking for them forever!

Appears to be no rust. Even as a project this would be listed for no less than a grand in metro NY area.
