      haha That is exactly what I'm doing. I couldn't choose between those two. Which one did you get; Classic Rock or AC30 & was it worth it? I'm ordering one of them in the morning. I agree, excellent reviewism.

    Ohhh you did me proud.
    As a complete old timer noob who's just decided to buy a guitar at 56 and try to be his lifetime hero Angus but knows nothing, I'm off to buy one of these now.
    Really appreciate your no nonsense straight to the point videos. Very very well done. You have a new subscriber/ student

    Joseph...I wanted to grab an Amplug, but I didn’t know which one. This demo was really helpful. The Classic Rock Amplug is the one for me!

      @@GrowWithGuitar I was wondering do you need to have something in the output jack or is there a small speaker contained in the device it self? I have seen the mesh but IDK if that is decorative or an actuall small speaker. Please let me know Thanks

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need headphones. The mesh is just decorative.

    If you roll your guitar volume back a bit you can get more clean tones on the green setting. This Classic Rock is very versatile.

      Yes you can. I'm not sure how and if I will show that in my videos. Still thinking about it.

    I have one of these. I can plug my mp3 player in, and play along. It gets great classic rock sounds with an LP style guitar. Or you can just play through it, and not disturb anyone. I really like mine. The only hassle is it's a battery eater.

    Hi Joseph !
    I looked your videos for the Vox Classic Rock (and the one with all models), the Marshall MS-2, the Valeton and the Blackstar. First, I want to say thank you ! I'm not really good at english but your videos helped me a lot. I want to learn guitar and my brother gave me his old one so I searched and find on Amazon the Vox & Marshall (both at 30€ in France).
    I want to play Sum 41 or RED songs principally but some Pop Rock or Metal songs too. I also read that the Vox Classic Rock was good for playing different genre so, do you think this one will fit perfectly for me ? After seeing your videos, I want to take this one.

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome! This one should be perfect for sum41 and pop rock. It isn't ideal for metal, but it should work for now as you learn guitar. I do think it is the best option among the other ones you mentioned for your use though.

    Great video, Joseph! Is it also possible to play John’s Frusciante riffs with this Classic Rock Amplug? I really love the sound, but i would also like to play some clean solos! Is there this versatility?

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can get both clean and drive tones with the classic rock.

  • @MC-xq7lq
    @MC-xq7lq 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey I'm curious, why did you set the tone dial at 1 when doing the Gain demo? I thought maybe 5 or higher would make sense for a more normal tone. But maybe you have a reason for this?

    Can VOX Classic Rock make clean sounds? Maybe if you lower the gain to 0 or 1 ?.

    I know you tried the Blackstar amplug too which one would you recommend the Vox Classic Rock amplug or the Blackstar amplug? Thank you

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are like me and are a literal plug and play style or a set it and forget it style, I would go with the Vox. I also prefer the tone control on the Vox model. I can't get used to the proprietary blackstar tone control. Only reason I might go with the blackstar is for the convenience of changing between clean and drive tones with a button press.

    Why no bass vox? Is that the private vid in this playlist?

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the private video is not the bass model. I assumed the bass model is more for electric bass guitar. Were you looking for how it sounds with electric guitar?

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would look at the metal or classic rock models, but I would lean towards the metal version.

    • @Rwtheking
      @Rwtheking 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably the either the classic or the lead. Metal seems to have to much gain and grit at low levels. You need a cleaner tone than something like thrash metal would.

    Can I get a clean sound on the classic Rock version, if yes how

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. If the clean tone in the video isn't enough, you can try lowering the volume on your guitar to have less gain.

    Can we put a backingtrack to this amplug?

    • @GrowWithGuitar
      @GrowWithGuitar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can. If you use a 3.5mm cable to connect your phone into the aux in on the amplug, then you can play the backing tracks from your phone. Here is a link to that cable: amzn.to/3nUJDDY (affiliate link).
