Jay, Been listening to you religiously for the past 2 years and are my go to review videos. I trust your opinions and appreciate your detailed overviews. Thank you for the great products this year! Have a great new year!🎉
Missing the 70's, as speakers are priced beyond expensive. Nothing mentioned unfortunately a blue collar employee with rent, mortgage, insurance, utilities, food, gasoline, sewer, maintenance can begin to even fathom. Hmmm. Even Santa forgot to drop these Arendals off down the chimney.Maybe the next episode will be titled speakers for mere mortals.
Hey my friend. there are "LOT'S" of "very good" speakers out there that are between $400 to $1,200 that will provide a wonderful listening experience (For example, check out ELAC's new 3.0 - DBR 63). In addition, (just saying) if you don't have a great listening room/ proper placement of speakers & excellent hearing it can be money down the drain in spending more money.
You don’t need a 2nd mortgage to purchase exotic audio equipment to enable you to enjoy listening to music. It’s not difficult to assemble a fantastic sounding audio system on a shoestring budget. The difference between a system costing 3000 and one costing 30000 is nowhere near 10 times better. Yeh, if you’re an enthusiast and you have 30000 disposable income you may well decide that the difference that extra 27000 makes is worth it, but that does not degrade the true value and enjoyment factor of the 3000 system.
Because Arendal sell direct their pricing is already about 50% less than they would cost from a local dealer. And is $4k dollars really a huge investment for a quality European manufactured product you could easily still be playing the heck out of 25yrs down the line? I don't think so.
I am excited about the 1528 bookshelf speakers video coming next year, but also want a review of the 1528 monitor speakers. I am hopeful for both reviews because already know about the towers, and my next pair of speakers will be 1 of the 3. It will be a tough decision between the towers, bookshelf, and monitor speakers, but I know you can help me decide with your videos. Thanks
Consider each to have a similar soundsignature. They are neutral with a hint of warmth from the solid base performance all got. What you get no matter Which model you go for is end game quality. Do you have the 5-10k$ and space for them ? Do you prefere towers or bookshelves? The monitor is somewhat Inbetween both
@wegardfjeld3789 All 3 speakers are big, and I am having a tough time deciding wether to go with the towers or the monitors. I have space for either according to Arendal. But, I need to see a complete review on the monitors because I have 3 reviews on the towers and no review on the monitors. My space is 26 ft long, but Trying to figure out if the monitor would be enough and maybe the tower
Happy new year! great 2024 following your channel. Best yet!! I was struck by lightning, (waiting for my Sonus Faber Sonetto 2 G2's to arrive, bought in early June, and still a month out), while innocently visiting a hifi shop here in Calgary, and was gob-smacked by a Danish speaker, Audiovector R1 Arrete'. What a perfect Xmas present The pair is in my system! and possibly end game for me. Wish you the best for 2025, happy audiophiling! Cheers!
The arendals new center speaker is so big it could do stereo by itself. Certainly made for bigger spaces. I really liker their bookshelf or monitors as a more balanced alternative, they are all 3-way speakers and just seem like a better fit for most spaces.
All the best for 2025. I’m waiting to order the Arendal 1528 Bookshelf 8 (my space is smallish, too) but the acoustically matched custom stands I see in reviews aren’t on the website. I really want those stands. So, I contacted Arendal and they got right back to say that those stands are pre-production prototypes that will be finalized for release in early 2025. When you do your review, information about the stands would be really helpful. Thanks.
I'm really curious about the bookshelf version of the 1528. How would it pair with the Hegel H120? Two Norwegian beauties coming together like that...? Let me wish to own a 1528 in the new year. Happy New Year!
Thanks Jay like always gave myself a little present this Christmas a Pair of Wharfedele 2.4 bookshelf speakers hooked to My Marantz 2265B receiver very satisfied Happy New year
I'm wondering how better would Platimons and 1528 bookshelves be, compared to my Dynaudio Special 40's. No way to compare them unfortunately. On the other hand other reviewers recommend MoFi speakers and Radiant Acoustic speakers. So many choices in that price bracket >,
HI Jay, I really love your speaker reviews and have been watching for some time now.. I really have my heart set on the MoFi 888's, but its hard to find any kind of side by side comparison...Do you think you'll be reviewing and possibly doing any comparisons of other speakers in that price point?? I Would really love it.
I have the Arendal 1723S centre channel and from what I can tell it's identical to the bookshelves except the orientation of the binding posts. I will not be getting 2 more of them for my system as they are home theatre speakers and not audiophile speakers. I've decided on some Magnapans and am currently waiting on those.
Get the Dali oberon 9 in for review and then let us know your bang for your buck category. On sale right now for 2400 for the pair! Rock on Brother Jay! 2025 here we come!
Looking for an integrated AMP for the Buchardt S400 mk2 in the range around 500 €. Since im a "beginner" im wondering if i need to have an amp that matches the speaker price, but my feeling tells me thats would be a little too much for the start. Any recommendations?
Another great video Jay. I have a question: based mostly on your review, I purchased a pair of 1538 Tower 8. But since then I’ve been reading that they need a lot of power to “come alive.” Do you think that my McIntosh MC611s have enough power to feed them? Thank you

Jay how far up the sonus faber line do you think the Arendal 1528 competes? Do they best the olympica nova 8'? Can they compete with the snus faber lilum?
I think it competes with the Olympics line. Although its a completely different sound from the Sonus faber’s house sound so there are bound to be people that prefer even the Sonetto line above the Arendals.
Wait until you all listen to the all new POPORI ACOUSTICS ELECTROSTATIC Loudspeakers : Major-Breakthrough for Electrostatic Loudspeakers 😇 Real Holy Grail of Speakers Now...

I have them and they are immaculate . So much clarity and resolution in the medium range and the mid to low bass are great too. And the looks of the Paradigm Founders 130H Loudspeakers are very eye-cathing and beautiful.
So Jay, your click bate mentions “best audiophile speaker”. Can you please differentiate between an audiophile speaker and a non audiophile speaker? Also, how do you quantify “best”? Surely this comes down to personal preference?
Audiophile speakers prioritize high-fidelity sound reproduction, using premium materials and precise engineering for a superior audio experience. Normal speakers are designed for general use, focusing on affordability, convenience, and broader sound preferences like enhanced bass or loudness. Since this is my channel and Jay's iyagi means Jay's story, as I've stated in this video - it would be "best" based on my opinion and objective data from what I have reviewed in 2024
So how do non audiophiles differentiate? Speakers aren’t labeled as such. If a speaker is advertised at $999 how can a non audiophile determine whether it is an entry level audiophile speaker, or a premium non audiophile speaker?
@@howardskeivys4184 As the term "audiophile" or "audiophile quality" really pertains to the expectation of quality of build and sound quality for those that do care about these qualities in their audio product, it really is determined by the consumer or end user all the same as how one would shop for an audiophile speaker - through listening and experiencing it for themselves. Just like quality standard is a spectrum based on the individual's taste and experience level of said product category, just the same, I personally may not think some Bluetooth speaker off amazon or powered bookshelves may fit into the "audiophile" category but some may very much feel that they do if that is to their taste and aligns with their expectations based on their previously owned audio products.
So that invalidates your original response that an audiophile speaker was built by the manufacturer to higher standards, including parts, electronics and specs. Because your now saying that whether or not speaker is classed as audiophile, is at the discretion of the end user.
@@howardskeivys4184 it does not. An audiophile speaker may be designed with the qualities I have specified above. How that is “perceived” to the end user is a different matter based on subjective taste and experience.

I'm curious, where do you live ? What speaker have you tried to sell and where ? Here they are nigh impossible to find used outside Arendals own reselling system. The trade up system is really good too.
Arendal speakers are puzzling. They look like the speakers that come from a white van that rips up to you in a Canadian Tire parking lot and the door flies open and some greaseball tells you hey - jabroni, have I got a deal for you. They look good enough to give it a hard think but not good enough to pull the trigger. Reminds me of Nuance speakers from the 90’s. Jay you are Canadian but probably too young to understand. The sound might be amazing and maybe even the build quality but they have to clean up the looks. And you’re not likely to make comment as you are on their payroll I think, but fellow commenters… tell me I’m wrong here.
Aesthetic taste is a subjective thing so it very much may not be for you. I am on no companies payroll. No money or product exchanged hands unless disclosed Cheers
You're wrong here. In more ways than one. I've had the 1723 monitors and the design and finish was great. The quality and finish is on a level rarely seen in this price range.. The issue with them was the size was too big for my home office. I can see that the basalt colour choice isn't my preference either, but I'm pretty sure the white looks great and hopefully Arendal comes with a darker shade soon too.
JTR 215RT is a 2000 watt PA speaker with only 30 degrees of sound dispersion that can do 130db It's not a hi fidelity speaker. With two large 15" woofers. It's more a concert speaker than anything else.

y\Yes they do! had a quick listen. In their big room, high end electronics. all I can say is WOW
Arendal makes great speakers that are fairly priced. I've been enjoying the 1723 towers after your review put them on my radar. Thanks man.
I bought the 1723 Monitors after I watched the 1723 Towers review. The towers are too big for my room. And added a 1723 sub 2S. Happy listening!

Very conflicted between 1723(s), SF Sonettos and Kef R3 Metas. Mix between movies and music in a very large room. Help!!! 😅
if its a mix between music and movies, I think you would be most satisfied with the Arendals or the KEF R3 Metas!
Appreciate you and love your work. Keep it up!
Can't wait to spend some time with you in February at the Florida International Audio Expo. I hope to see some of your fans there as well.
Thanks Don! Can't wait to hear those towers in your room if chances allow
Hey would you please review the New Moniter audio 6g speaker series sir👍 happy New year to sir✨✨✨
Love your reviews keep up the good work. FYI Klipsch is coming out w a La Scala Al6 next year, hope you get the chance to review!
Continue the excellent work Jay.
Jay will you be testing the Monitor version? it is a little larger than the bookshelf ?
Hi Jay, happy holidays, have you had the chance to listen to the Arendal 1723s towers?
I am actually really excited to potentially review the S model of the towers in the new year!
@@Jayiyagi I look forward to that review
I have the 1723 towers for fronts, and 1723 S for rears. Here's my review: they're awesome!
I've been waiting for this to drop

please tell arendal to make their speaker in a darker black brushed metallic matte color... their grey look toyish platicky to me...
not really in-person but they do look a bit plasticky on camera and photos

Going to try out the Totem Element Metal v2 at home, based on your recommendation. We’ll see …..
I own the Arendal 1723 S monitors and regard them "end-game" for me. They deliver in every way and check all the boxes for me.
I can't help but wonder if it's overkill to get the 1528s over the 1723s for a smaller room.
Who won the giveaways?

JTR 215RT is a 2000 watt PA speaker with only 30 degrees of sound dispersion that can do 130db It's not a hi fidelity speaker. With two large 15" woofers.
It's more a concert speaker than anything else.
Bad pick. Mofi 888, Dali Epikore7 and Aucoustic 6.2 are much better...
Happy New Year.
No sound demo ?
As before ?
Is it convincing ?
