Oil filters, air filters, brake fluids, cabin filters, suspension parts, brakes pads, comfort, longevity, Panels, parts and no real problems. Now ask me what are the Taxi and Ubers buying, using and smiling over ??..... Well it would be Toyota/ Lexus. For everything else there is myriad of others that also ran this race. Bris to Townsville for 80 bucks, for an extra hour of waiting on a 12 hour drive you can’t fault it. I never waited for it to charge, it was waiting for me to finish. My old car would’ve cost about 250, I don’t get paid $170 an hour so it’s worth it for me, also the car drove the whole way. You can choose to pay if you’re in that much of a rush that that extra hour matters but if you’re that short for time why not fly, it would be cheaper than driving a normal car anyway.

Not to mention 10 years ago when they were teasing batteries that could ruin the competition.......but nothing....they are waking up now because they realized the Chinese BYD is better then them. Again, still using old battery tec and an ancient petrol engine. No small engine with turbo that gets even better fuel economy... Oh well. Such is a Camry....and Ozs will buy them because we have crap quality of fuel and long distances to go....happy days....Toyota will continue declining and sell while they can
The stigma that belongs to the oriental volvo is well deserved. I'd rather push an old car that drive that. It just isn't cool, fun, exciting and never can be.
The spare wheel vs GOOP repair kit. The thing to be aware of, is the short life of the GOOP - Use By Date only 3 years (on my Suzuki Swift Sport). Meaning that there are a lot of people out there, with USELESS Goop Repair kits sitting in the boot.
We need to stop burning stuff for our future. A Hybrid is a stopgap and Australia is being dumped on by the OEM’s and spinning it as if it’s new. This is the only way they will stay afloat a little longer, because most OEM’s had failed making an impressive EV’s that people want to buy . A 1.4kw battery is just a little electric booster and the engine starts burning fossil fuels more often than not. The range is only longer because it has a petrol engine, that you still need to service and fill with fuel. I know you know about all this, but everyone else is being told a lie, buy now and save with a Hybrid. Keep up the great work mate.
3.5 in the city and slow to medium speed driving. Try some highway driving at 140-150 km/h and you're lucky to get below 7.5 / 100km, whereas a diesel with similar performance will get 6 or less. Hell, my Audi A4 40 TFSI with 190hp and 2.0 TFSI petrol engine consumes EXACTLY 5.0 l/100km at 140 km/h on the highway on a perfectly level road with no wind. A hybrid won't do that because the EV part of it is inefficient at high speeds and the petrol engine by itself is thirsty.
Absolutely yeeeeeess!! We should start tipping the scales favouring the hybrid systems and looking for new fuels. Instead of the lithium "green energy" nonsense
I would only ever expect Camry as a Taxi/Uber, or company car fleet, (for City and Suburban area only, not so suitable for rural or outback Australia?) but not for personal use only, I could not feel psychiatricly comfortable downsizing from Falcon or Holden to Camry or Magna back in the 1990s, and I am no different today.

Thanks for showing that lane keep assist/warning is not a perfect science. In my experience, these tech add ons are useless even dangerious. Kia sportivo kept pulling the car when leaving freeway, avoiding pot holes, even overtaking if indicators were not perfectly timed. Cruise control that keeps to 10% plus or minus set speed is costly in Vic roads with hidden speed cameras. Autonimous breaking is random in activation, does not come on when I think it should like car in front stops suddenly (I can stop before warning activates), and activates when it should not (like a parked car, that I am passing or the shadow of a tree). Quite often it beeps and the on screen message dissapears before it can be read - no idea why it beeped, its a distraction.
Can we stop thinking about emissions only in the context of climate change, and start thinking about it in the context of it directly affecting our health through air quality.

Just finished watching a review of the new Zeekr X7 and OMG it looks like toyota is stuck in 90s.
Finally an upgrade to the 20 year old interior
And it still looks like the physical manifestation of a big yawn.
Toyota's eCVT is bulletproof
really? then why is toyota going to use byd hybrid system?
shame the lower part of the front bumper will scrap on most driveways and etc
I feel Toyota is losing its designers. The vehicles are all over the place in terms of finish and styling. The fact the boot squeaks says a lot. They expect customer’s to pay a premium price for utter shit.
Yep, this look like crap styled for the blind, or the soon to be.
Toyota has designers? Toyota mechanicals are its strong suit but build quality has never been all that good. My parents owned an XV20 and the interior started falling apart, starting with the well known door card fabric. My brother owned a XV30 Sportivo and again the interior started falling apart.
This car is far superior to any wank full electric vehicle.
You probably meant to type car
@@KatrinaInni ha ha thank you
I own previous gen SL & Tesla, and I disagree 😅
@@phamthanhlam each to their own sir. We all are allowed an opinion in a democratic society.
@@Nae395 Of course everyone can have their own opinion. But mine comes from the experience of owning and living with both for years. Tesla is much much better & easier to live with.
Yes definitely a good idea it would be very interesting as I am a Taxi Driver in Ireland and they are alit of Toyota Hybrids on the roads as Taxis here and a small number of Teslas Model 3. Congratulations on a very informative show looking to the next including the Camry versus the Model 3.
@@anthonyfoley3377 when I was in Paris during Easter, I was truly surprised that almost all Parisien Taxis use Toyota/Lexus Hybrids. No more Peugeot, Citroen and Renaults
Fantastic review as always Paul 👍 Can you please confirm if the Camry for Australia is manufactured in Japan?
Where else do they come from? We certainly don’t get the crap USA made Camrys.
@@stevespatrol I wasn’t sure if we got the ones made is Kentucky 🤷♂️ which i certainly would not buy
Australian Camrys are still made in Japan
@@YZJB awesome 👏 Thank you for confirming. The SL version looks the goods in Jasper red 🔥
They're manufactured in Japan, surprisingly.
Gonna offend lots of folks with that TeslaM3 model comparision Paul.
@@brandontr8946 there will be more little pink cybertroopers wetting their pants as PRC car makers don’t have the petrol engine technology that can come anywhere close to Toyotas D4s engines and 5th gen hybrid systems
Any Prado review incoming?
Yea, do the comparison trip 👍
Have toyota FINALLY got rid of the little cruise control toggle from behind the wheel and put it on the steering wheel face?
Last gen had it on the steering wheel as well
I will die on this hill. That is the only correct place to have cruise control. Its easy, efficient and familiar in a way the buttons will never be,
First !
Because Toyota is a real car company, and Tesla is not .
Perfect transport
Its not a Subaru.
Toyota have gotten so good at the hybrids that when people think of hybrid no other company comes in their mind only Hyundai pops up as they are everywhere in form of taxis.
That's just for you though, abit ignorant if you ask me.
@@milkoowen6800 people don’t buy Honda because they are wayyy to expensive and Nissan currently doesn’t have hybrid. Before being entitled to your opinion go and do your research.
@@JoyMahendru why do you think that PRC players that preached BEVs are now huddling into the HEV space? They unfortunately do not have the Toyota D4S engine technology to support the HEV ecosystems
16.00... Unhinged screeching from the Elongators and EVangalists
FYI the fuel lifecycle co2 emissions on that page are a national average. EV fuel emissions are only higher if you charge 100% from the grid and in QLD or VIC. In every other state/territory it's lower.
Just on the Melbourne Sydney run, great idea, would love to see it. But, no going off for your favourite late' or going off route to find your favourite pie...
Make it a challenge to get there asap, as if there was some kind of emergency or deadline... No speeding, but no screwing around either. Refuel as necessary and drive thru for the Camry and grab something to eat whilst the Muskovich is recharging for the 3.. Take two drivers so you can do it safely. Would be interested to see what the gap would be in this situation.
If it gets 3.7l/100km, I'll be in. Check for a software update or do a system reboot & that should fix it. Most cars inbedded infotainment/Sat Nav etc can be OOD once a buyer receives the car. Any phone updates could also affect connectivity as well particularly if you are using wireless carplay or AA
What a waste of time this video needs to be retitled as an Australian man yaps and yaps about a new Camry. I kept skipping it forward trying to find the 67 miles per gallon then gave up😮
Been in so many high km Csmry Ubers - Aircon, comfort, sound level, build quality incredible. I'm always astonished at the kms on the clock.. such a boring cliche to continue to call the current Camry bland or boring internally or externally. It's literally a brain dead opening argument .
Yes, think that would be interesting, Tesla & Camry … Melb to Syd 👍
Oil filters, air filters, brake fluids, cabin filters, suspension parts, brakes pads, comfort, longevity, Panels, parts and no real problems. Now ask me what are the Taxi and Ubers buying, using and smiling over ??..... Well it would be Toyota/ Lexus. For everything else there is myriad of others that also ran this race. I brought the last 2018 V6 Lexus ES350 ultra luxury + full executive pack and at 127Kw more and 6.8 ltr/ 100 Hwy and 9.1 ltr / 100 city . I will see you at 500,000Klm and ask How's your Tesla doing. Only the Toyota Hybrids will be there to answer.. here we are!
We need a twin turbo v6 Kluger............ I hate CVT's so unless this flicks gears like a torque converter auto......... they'll never have me sold on it. I'd always buy the non hybrid just to have that normal feeling of the gear changes.
The Camry vs 3 would be good but could you throw in a plug-in hybrid and a diesel aswell?
Preferably similar size and shape cars to keep it as even as possible so maybe a Passat or similar?
The styling of my 2019 Gen-8 Ascent Sport looks much better. This looks like a Kia/Hyundai cross. But the overall tech is an improvement.
Toyota designers have gotten really good lately. Gosh the 2025 Camry(especially full spec model) is a looker, both exterior and interior and not to forget the reliability/longevity, so well done
Why do people keep comparing electric cars to ICE cars on long distance trips? We know that's an EVs weakness.
That is why they do it, nothing is going to beat an EV around the suburbs.
Better than a Tesla😂....oh dear! Why would you compare such an ancient s..t box to it.
Toyota should have done this 4 years ago!
Oh well. Such is a Camry....and Ozs will buy them because we have crap quality of fuel and long distances to go....happy days....Toyota will continue declining and sell while they can
Great review!
Definitely my next car
Experienced it twice: everything just feels right/adequate . Efficiency and reliability at its best
3.5l/100km in city should be 1.0l/100km on the freeway. You'll always get better economy with constant low load/higher speed cruising.
Why are you doing 140km/h?
@@Wtrxprs007able Dream on that is a rediculous comment.
@@derbigpr500 Are you having fun fun fun on the autobahn?
@@Wtrxprs007ablenot with hybrids mate. Hybrids do better economy in the city than on the highway.
Modern Toyota build quality is rather poor; Hyundai and kia knock them for six. That said, it sounds like they've addressed the door shut 'clang' on the pre-facelift version.
big deal! i got a 93 civic vei 1.5L sedan with the e-vtec engine getting 100mpg and its 30y old and its not even a hybrid
The sedan/waggon style is much better than SUV, which have limited internal space. Mazda 6 hatch and Skoda Octavia Hatch are the most practical cars.
YEs, do a long-range test, Camry Vs Tesla, but do it differently to every other test ever done. Start them both on 10kms of range...lol
He said it was an Ascent Sport - but then said 18" wheels - which is only available on SL version.
Can you clarify?
Still looks like a pensioner car, interior is ok but a bit boring, Toyota has done a great job if you get those fuel figures, looks like Toyota were right to stick to their Hybrid guns rather than go full on EV, well done Toyota, it's payback for you.
Finally it come, not cheap any more. It was launch in china over a year, still no one buying it due to EV cheap cheap there. Camry there only half the price of AUS, but our version is made in Japan ?
My next car will probably be a Toyota Rav 4 as Toyota has nailed hybrid technology. 😊
Can we stop thinking about emissions only in the context of climate change, and start thinking about it in the context of it directly affecting our health through air quality.
Is it true a 2025 Camry breakin forbid driving for the first 1000km since you need to vary load?
Its absolutely insane that what is essentially a social stereotype has relegated an excellent car like this is to "rideshare/fleet car"
Can you please link the EV - Hybrid comparison Website you used ?
Radar cruise control only, or does it have normal cruise control also? Found radar not very good on windy roads.
Hey Paul, yeah, so the wireless CarPlay issue is certainly an Apple/iOS thing. I personally don't use the wireless Carplay (or Android Auto) due to the issues/bugs that crop up with that side of things. I always hard wire my devices both for reliability but also to stop the device draining battery much faster than normal and getting damn hot from the wireless comms side of things (especially if on a longer trip).
Hey Paul. The start of this video just confirms why I'm boycotting Toyota. I'm so upset with their quality and safety.
I just hope people really see Toyota to who they really are. Very unsafe and cheap, no where near like what they used to be
Very disappointed
Yes, do the Melbourne to Sydney, drive them until they need to full so no stopping waiting for the other vehicle, and give a total cost of the trip
Why compare the LR version of the Tesla Model 3 though? RWD is more efficient right?
With the connectivity, does it give you the ability to opt out of sharing your data? Toyota and other brands are under fire for selling customer data to 3rd party companies in their recent cars…
I have a one year old Camry as a company car and it’s amazing, value for money it’s one off the best cars in world.
