Man cubase 13 is MASSIVE, no match for it, every community request has been heard and that we really appreciate that!
yeah, it's just something other daws already have... and still lacking. tbh cubase is playing catch up...
not a huge update for 100€ tbh@@JackaTrial
Logic X
Not true and many, too many, leftovers, unfinished stuff, bugs and inconsitant gui. It works, but well, so long time went by and that's it? Take off the content and plugins, how few is then in the update and please read the Steinberg forum to understand how poor this "massive" new version is
@@NeuroticNexus im a game music producer and Cubase make my creation so easy bro, i have tried Studio One, FL Studio, Pro-Tools and Cubase make this so easy for me at least! And i can customize my shortcuts to fit my needs!
This has been my #1 channel for learning how to use Cubase after switching from FL Studio. Best decision of my music career. And, with Cubase 13 implementing even MORE features from other DAW's like Logic and such into its workflow, it's truly on its way to becoming an all-encompassing DAW for anything a composer/producer would ever need. Thanks for all your amazing work, Dom! You're awesome!
Unfortunately, nothing comes close to the step sequencer in FL Studio. Cubase has beat designer, which hasn't been updated in 10+ years. Out of curiosity, what replicates the FL Studio experience in Cubase for you? I found Studio One has the best experience for making quick drum tracks in a step sequencer, like FL Studio.
@@j0n.pplaybeat 3 is all you need!!
You don't need a step sequencer as in cubase you can edit mid with in one groove agent track plus you can go back and forth mixing editing and producing, again you can record different drums simultaneously since every drum pad has a lane and it's own mixer channel. You can't even compare FL STUDIO with CUBASE when it come organization and software intuition, most of FL fixing were copied and learned from cubase. I used FL since 2013 to 2017, ableton 2017 to 2019, 2019 until now, cubase and there's never going to be a daw like cubase. During then i was even trying many different daws like studio one(basics an American cubase), protools, traktion, reaper and reason.. .
@@yvanmudendeli2729 I'm aware of how to make drum tracks in cubase, but my point was, for ease of use and to get a quick idea down, fl studio, studio one and logic are the best, because they have a dedicated step sequencer (which can be used for more than just drums). The process takes 3 times as long and is unnecessarily complicated. An updated step sequencer, like the one in studio one for instance, is just so intuitive. I don't know one person who uses groove agent. It's either a third party option or the longer process of using the 1980's looking drum editor. Given the music made today, it's almost impossible to believe one hasn't been implemented.
@@yvanmudendeli2729 i dont agree. maybe for basic timeshift en basic swing patterns. playbeat 3 has way more features for per step fx like most hardware sequencers have wich make your drums somuch more intresting. if you make house techno or basic 4x4 music groove agent is enough
I've been using Cubase since way before the VST era and consider myself pretty experienced, but it's a side gig/hobby for me so Dom is a very regular source of "holy shit I didn't know that" and I just want him to know I appreciate the hell out of him, and anyone reading this to know that I'm an old head and this dude still teaches me new shit regularly. Easily the best source of Cubase info on the internet, I sincerely hope Steinberg is paying you a salary. Mad respect brother
I'm glad that Steinberg has continued their focus on thoughtful workflow optimizations and tools that really matter. The MixConsole and range tool updates are especially appreciated. I want to live in a world where my incessant raving about Cubase isn't met with "it's too complicated". Updates like this get me closer.
Dude Just The Vocal Plugin Is Worth The $99 Upgrade For Me Thanks For The Video
My thought as well.
I thought Im the only one thinking. Glad im not alone 😁
Same for me too!
Glad I found you. You are a born teacher!
The key editor additions are HUGE for film composers!
I love the step editor changes and new multi-part midi editing! The only thing I wish Cubase could adopt is the folder tracks being group channels so I can see folders, both expanded or closed in the mixer and be able to put inserts or sends onto "folder group channels". Maybe Cubase 14!
datz what’s missing
Totally! +1
That's a valuable suggestion!
I totally agree, this is so necessary! I went from Logic to Cubase and that's definitely something I miss when mixing
this! ☝
Great video! When I read the list of changes it sounded a bit underwhelming, but Dom's videos really emphasise the practical improvements and the real difference they make to your workflow.
Thank you, Dom. This is so helpful. Looking forward to your individual videos on these features
Amazing Dom! Thank you for this great overview! 🙏🏾
Thanks for a review Dom, hope to get upgrade soon , cause version 13 looks amazing
Oh heck yes! I'll definitely be upgrading to 13.
Thanks Dom 😊
Mac Users : Cubase 13 works on Mojave 10.14.6 on older Mac Pro 2009-2012. This is HUGE for many!
Thanks Dom for ALL your hard work!!
dope video Dom thanks!
Being able to easily view multiple midi channels and choose what you need to see and work with is so valuable. Fast fast fast!
The vocal chain is very handy also. To simplify and make workflows quicker without compromising quality is awesome.
I love your channel and your knowledge on Cubase Dom. Your an amazing guy.
Thank you. Your reviews and explanations are the best. More cubase videos please.
Awesome video! Thank you Dom for sharing your amazing knowledge and expertise! Keep your flashing T-shirts. They are gorgeous!🤩🤩🤩
Super cool update! Congrats on your work on the Vocal Chain :) :)
This is great! The mono/stereo button was much needed. This is going to be fun.
why was it much needed? I dont get it
@@SoundPeaks because I had to assign the macros to a keycommand go through the menu options everytime I had to convert a mono to stereo or vice versa. Now it's just a button on the channel and track.
@@Mars_Monkey can you explain why do you convert? What is the goal? What are you trying to achieve?
I mean I never do it and I never wanted to, what am I missing?
@@SoundPeaks Well, most of the time I like to switch certain drum sounds to mono so that they don't take up too much of the sound field and I like to control the sound field with mono to stereo plugins while mixing the arrangement. Mostly I like to do my bass in mono, and go further into the stereo field the higher the frequency, it keeps the mix down from sounding too muddy.
When using plugins like Machine or Reason inside Cubase it always auto-creates stereo buses for the instrument tracks, now you can just switch those channels to mono automatically.
Another reason it's good to have this functionality, if you're not using a plugin like Voxengo SPAN or other mid/side plugins, switching the main mix track to mono can help you get rid of any phase issues, making certain tracks in the mix disappear behind other sounds, it's good for mixing clarity.
Overall, it was tedious having to open the rendering window anytime you needed to do so, now you just hit the button on the arranger Channel or mixer Track.
@@SoundPeaks Also, just to add, many other DAWs had that functionality already, so it's nice now to finally have that in Cubase.
Thanks for all the help with Cubase 13
😮As soon as I heard about it, I cancelled everything and came to the studio, now I bought it, I'm relieved 😍
Ooo Kantik para çok galiba kanks :D
Ahhh finally! I just bought the upgrade and can't wait to get into the studio 🖤 Thanks for the great video Dom :)
as soon as i See Dom and new Steinberg release I have to come to this channel. the best in depth update about the new tools. thank you Dom . :D
Great. Thanks a lot, Dom. Good job, 25 features in 25 minutes, and very well explained. Wow.
Thank you Dom for always pointing at the useful features of these release and especially for showing the ones that could not look the most important but that are actually real game changers in a daily use!
Thanks for this! You’re the best, Dom
Great job Dom!
Thanks Dom. Great video and I have jjust upgraded to 13 so very excited to start using the new features.
Sick update! Lots of useful stuff. As always, great video.
Thanks man!!! I always learn so much from you and the content you post! Excellent work 👌👊
Thank you so much man, appreciate it!
yeah, so great to see (finally) some great workflow updates !!! Great ! Thx Dom
Yes, a video on the Iconica Sketch would be extremely valuable!
Hello ! Amazing all these new features with this update. Thank you for showing us and demonstrating this with always such professionalism and good humor. I look forward to watching the details of these new features in your next dedicated videos. Thanks again !
Thanks for your effort to show us those features! I downloaded 13P today and I noticed much faster project loading. So far this seems a great improvement. Looking forward to your in depth vids, nice work Dom🙏
Thank you Dom:-). I really appreciate your response!!
Thanks for a fast video on this update, huge surprise that cubase 13 released today 👍👍😊🎶
So many new features, as soon as i finished watching your video i upgraded and I am now having fun! thx Dom for the great video
Just got it yesterday. Very exited! thanks Dom again for all the great content ^_^
Your T shirt always changing the colours... New plot unlocked! hahaha... Thank you Dom... For an extraordinary explained!... 💯💥🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the excellent video as always Dom! I know there are much more updates than covered in this video which I am sure Dom will cover in other videos. Just updated to Cubase 13. The track routing menu now has easy way to set the midi input channel. Previous versions had track input transformer which after setting the input channel would say "No Preset" after loading the template/project next time even if the input channel preset did exist for that track. This was very confusing and frustrating. Looking forward to more videos on new features.
Wow! Thanks Dom ❤
Thanks Dom for this review! I bought 13 version and now I testing it.
thankyou dom to be such a good explainer of everything, i recently changed from fl studio to cubase 13 pro and its sometimes difficult, but with your videos its mutch easyer to learn te program! keep up the good work ! love to see your videos !
Steinberg never dissapoints me with the Cubase updates but I think this update is one of the best in a long time. So much very well thought out improvements in this update! Superb work Steinberg...for real!! Also, superb video Dom!
Ahh these updates are massive , I haven’t updated my cubase for a few years but this is the year I will be updating defo,,, can’t wait for all the separate videos as everything you have mentioned is massive ,, thanks for this and thank you Cubase !!!!!!!
It's a pity they didn't add the "Channel Strip to Pre(Post) Inserts Position" hot button. You will have to constantly open the Edit Channel Setting window again.
Go submit a featute request on the forums instead of complaining hwre.
@@g.o.9513 Thanks for the tips! What would I do without your wise advice?! (Sarcasm)
Thanks Dom!we love you!
Fantastic new features that I have wanted for some time: the updated range tool, "Tap your tempo" -function, the ability to Configure where playback starts to precisely match your workflow, and Quick channel change:
change channel type from mono to stereo or vice versa with one click. Love it!
Thank you, excellent point after using in 30 years.
Thank you Dom! I heard the news from you :)
Biiiiiiiig THANKs Dom for review !
let's gonna updated
Dom, Many thanks for all your tips!!! An other useful thing about Cubase 13 is the click on the mouse wheel allow to move where you want. And one more word and sorry for your ego, but you're simply the best pedagogue on Cubase and for so many other things.
Id love a tutorial around the chord Pads Dom👍
Yay! I was eager to see your first C13 video. Cheers!
As always - Great video Dom 🙂
Thanks Dom, I thought I subbed before but I hadn't. I have now. Upgrading from 12 to 13 right now. Great video
I was a Cubase user from 1990 on the Atari, and continued to use it on the PC from ‘99 to ‘02, then switched primarily to Logic when I bought a Mac. I’ve now returned to Cubase after a long time away and I’m finding your channel invaluable in relearning it!
Can't wait to get going on it!
Can't wait for Cubase 14
Wow I cannot believe they added the midi cc smooth curve option finally! Best upgrade yet!!
This is a huge update
Thanks for the video. Yes please, dedicated videos.....😊😊
Great overview Dom. That song is fire.
Thannk you very much Dom, i appreciate the new mixer and new plugins for vocals, it will help for my live band stage recording, i will updating tomorrow ;)
Glad you like it man❤❤❤
Great video Dom ,just purchased cubase 13 pro
Everyone is talking about the new features and no-one is talking about the magical t-shirt changing color
Cubase 13 channel surfing.... from Chris to Dom! Fun morning! I love what they did to the chord pads. Looking forward to all your upcoming C13 deeper-dive videos!
Did the same : )
Thank you Dom. very good overview.
love Cubase:)))))
Awesome summary Dom! I'm late to the party with work being crazy these days, but definitely looking forward to your in depth videos with lots of BOOMs!
Great video! Really love the new console and general layout!
This update is about workflow and i love it. Now i really want to finish my current projects and do the update :p Thanks for the overview!
Thanks for the great video 🔥👍🏿
super cool, everytime! Great Dom!
Great video, Thanks Dom!
Super awesome Dom. Many Many thanks for sharing. What video editor you use vor this stunning videos?
Hey Dom, I just mixed a song using the New Cubase Vocal Chain Plugin and it worked great!. So easy to have everything there. And the presets are really good. +1 for Steinberg.
Very good video , thanks Dom 💞💓💕
I'm very happy to still be in the grace period from my cubase 12 upgrade. So I basically went from 11 to 13 for 99€. I only wanted the upgrade to get rid of the elicenser, but I'll happily take some of the new features as well!
Can't go wrong with Cubase...use it since Atari...I'm gonna check it out later...Thank you Steinberg, Thank you Dom
23:40 I think the Step CC recording its still useful because it "granular", which translates into an almost 100% accurate recording performance, instead of the Ramp option, which from here I can see it "softens" the performance.
but yeah, its very good that they are available!
Great work Dom
Awesome video Dom, this is a great build/version, I just upgraded to cubase 13 pro, well worth the wait!
Woah! I've been using Cubase for almost 20 years now (damn I feel so old 😢). I've discovered things on this channel, often, that have blown my mind. Can't wait for your C13 tutorials to learn all that's new and exciting.
I'm super excited to see this I'm upgrading very soon that Dom als always
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeew! Cant wait for Nündo 13
Dom. I would really love it if Groove Agent step sequencer can be used for all the kits and not just the live kits. It would make beat making so much faster and I won't have to open Flstudio each time I want to make a quick beat in cubase. Keep up the great work 👍💪
Great video! Sounds very exciting! Thanks for the awesome review, Dom! 👍👍👍
Great video Dom, thanks! Do you know whether this version includes anything like V-rack and chunks functions of DP or not?
❤im excited about the Vocal Chain! Cubase Tech is making it easier everytime for us especialy not pro producers😅
I personally don’t go for ‘kitchen sink’ plugins but the layout used for vocal would be a great overview template for ANY track’s complete set of controls. A great, unified technique to view and change the most relevant elements of any track.
Many many thanks for your positive and informative videos. Fast becoming my favorite source of info for upping my game in my Nuendo based studio. Kudos on the action packed approach.
Yeah, like I am going to be able to resist updating!! Great vid. Please make those separate videos for all those new features, that should keep you busy until the next update! :)
"Quick sip of coffee..." love it! 😂😂😂
stoked and jolly beyond measure 🤘🏽
Switching channels to mono and stereo 🎉 finally!! 😭🤘🏼
Excellent overview, Dom.
Great presentations Dom Thank you:) My query is about your demonstration using Iconica Sketch. Can you make the template available for the orchestra please?
fantastic... I guess they did not upgrade frequency..... .but many cool new features though... I will upgrade ASAP thanks as usual Dom
