@@reggiexp69 Low profile off-road tires are an oxymoron. You don't want to bend a rim and you want usually lower pressure to get more tire on the ground for grip. There are only downsides to running low profile tires off road, not really any benefits. Which is why they don't exist.
I’m gonna be honest, the new wheels and tires don’t look good. I think going bigger was a good idea but maybe not that big, and also have the rear ones larger than the front.
yeah, i prefer the small front, big rear look too. i dont like these new wheels at all, and the stress and leverage wheels that big put on all the suspension parts etc is enormous. and the engine just doesnt have the power or the gearing to properly spin them up etc. i think old wheels looked and performed better. cant blame them for trying though. those rims were pretty nice. sometimes it seems like a good idea in theory, not so much in practice.

Finally tires and wheels that make sense. Proportional tires to the size of the vehicle. This vehicle now reminds me of the Baja buggies of the 1960's. You will be so happy with the performance of these tires. Now you can use larger disc brakes.
A real nice & extremely useful part called a take-up bearing Keeps shaft's & rotating assemblies Square & locked into place. They save belts & chain from failure due to Misalignment. Just a FYI guys.
I can say from experience the cvt on my sportsman doesn’t enjoy getting wet. They should definitely make some kind of shield to keep out the rain and mud

I love watching how you guys fabricate and overcome the problems. I’ve been wanting to swap engines on a couple little dirt bikes I have but the engine mounts are different and you guys inspired/taught me how I could make new mounts. Really appreciate it. thank you for building something I have had drawn up on paper for nearly 15 years.... when I first heard about the oddesy when I was a teen I always wanted one, and I even designed my own (the goal was more suspension and a bigger engine), never got to building it though, yours is a good enough replacement I think

Which is awesome since he makes time while in the middle of whatever crazy project he's fabricating. And then there's the family too. And then when it comes to the builds themselves. that is so far beyond an odyssey, it makes jason's trip look like a gentle paddle, down a peaceful stream. there's nothing gentle, nor peaceful about this beast. i used to turn v-dubs into sand rails when they were cheap and plentiful. i'd wager this has a better hp/weight ratio than even the last couple i made with a 2112 big bore kit on a 1600 dual port, and an aluminum front end. i'll bet with a real clutch, it'd be a wheelie machine. i know my sand rails were. awesome build. golf clap all around.

Definitely a gear reduction. Not a rock crawler reduction but not far from it. Go with a half ton time rod ends and a steering stabilizer shock. Great video and build. I grew up during the Odesy times. Had lots of fun on them.
We always redrilled our bolt pattern on our race car axels, we ran a ford 9" in a camaro, we'd just weld the former holes up, mill flat then put a chevy drum on since the center fit perfect then mark and drill new holes

Stick your paint in a can or pot with water in it when you heat it on the wood stove . Heats more eavanly and less chance of exploding. Keep up the good work.!!!!!
This project is awesome but I have two simple suggestions. 1. take off those heavy way to big wheels and find a size in between the two. 2. You need to change the clutching on the primary and secondary clutches. Ask someone that mods sleds or races. Clutching is a dark art
Just a couple observations from a Canadian snowmobiler. You need to build a cover for your clutch and drive belt, if you snap a belt without a cover you can get seriously injured. And the reason it fucked up is because the belt got wet with the mud, a splash of water can make a snowmobile sink while crossing water, im assuming thats what made it fail
You are going to want an aggressive tread style for the front!!! Those front tires will turn into slicks,fast and will wash out on deep turns,and not hold your line, I think !! But it looks so awesome, love the wheels
the new wheels look sick, i love the white, although alot of people would have a heart attack seeing such a beautiful white wheel going offroad and getting dirty XD
The WHEELS are fine, imo they look really good. The tires are just TOO TALL for the gearing and the powerband that the motor puts out....lotsa hp but not enough tq...if this was the jseries or K-series from the Honda oddessy minivan than they'd work now problem...which at first is what I thought they were using. When I heard it was from a snowmobile that explained a lot.
I'm sure those tires and wheels cost lots and took plenty of work but I really don't think that it's the way this machine should go, obviously it's your guys build so do what you like. Love the channel

Hey guys I love the oddessy! I know im late to the party but a lot of your issues are wet clutches. Make a shroud to keep them dry and it will work way better. I would also swap that polaris engine out for a 2003 to 2006 Arctic Cat F7. They eat modern 850s as sleds i cant imagine what itd do to that beast.

Regilio Bouma the rims are lighter. The issue is the size of the wheels. Larger wheels exert a larger force, on the bearings

60lbs is TOO MUCH WEIGHT . Needs to be in the 20's or 30's .you dont need mass at the end of the powertrain

dude you are getting the belt wet, it's doing nothing but slipping, and it's probably junk by now. you are not putting any power to the ground
If the belt was slipping it would rev to the moon and barely move
