We finally found all of our Honda Odyssey’s problems. It had to have smaller wheels and tires and a better/bigger radiator. next stop for the engine swap/build series is paint. After that the Odyssey will be 100% ready to rip!

I am still waiting for a HUGE, but mellow table top to get built on the property. something you can full send stuff but very predictably and smoothly. BUST OUT THE BOBCAT.

same stick to 10" or 12" with normal ATV tires... its not a car. bigger wheels is slower at low end and more top. smaller wheels are more fun
You can put the "old" wheels on the back of the tractor if you ever get that project going

Missed the odyssey. I've been running a civic radiator/ fan on my sled seems to keep the temp down and the hoses fit on it good. I also swap the v.regulator for a electric start one (dc output) so the fan works off the mag at idle

These backyard builds that you guys do are awesome. Better than all these crazy expensive builds with teams of people. Gives me the motivation to want to do everything myself even more! Keep them videos coming!

You should put the smaller size wheels,to much load with the big ones
On that liberty 800, don’t run stock elko pistons, run wisecos. They handle the heat and Rpms much better. Also I’d switch the coolant out for Evans waterless coolant. Keeps the engine much cooler on 2 strokes. Just my .02s.

Odyssey’s were one of the coolest things Honda ever sold. I started with a FL 250 restored it to new with a better clutch and rebuilt engine bored out & tuned, electric start and water cooled head. It was cool but you can always go bigger 😅 FL 350 was in showroom condition when I got that one 🤩 Same with the FL 400 Had it shipped 3000 miles from CA. 500 miles on it, new new new, the absolute best atv ever made❗️
What if you took the chassis from a Suzuki Samurai/Sidekick and replaced the body with a duck shooting punt boat. Then a second transfer case which instead of 2/4/4L gives you prop/wheels/superlow

I love your videos, and I absolutely accept that you guys need to do ad reads to pay the bills and keep bringing us awesome content. I only request that you keep it more proportional to the length of the video. Basically, no longer than 10% of the video run time seems fair (IMO). This one was about 2:20 out of a 16:00 long video, which is more like 15% of the video length, and it seemed excessive. Again, I love the content, and I'll sit through the ads so you get that revenue. But I'd just like a better balance of content to advertising.
The wheel/tire combo is too big and heavy for that small buggy. Too much sprung weight and rotational mass. Those truck tires weigh 25lbs. a piece, that's 100lbs of extra weight!
And I need a fl350 frame asap ... already have a complete 1991 ninja 600 with 4500 original miles to use as the powertrain and the dash possible I may use the front suspension off the bike repurposed for the rear of the odyssey...

As soon as I seen those tall narrow wheels I knew it would be a problem and I'm no mechanic. How di you not see that comming. Way to much force exerted from the side when drifting and taking tight curves and such. But I absolutly love the channel and all the cool builds. This is like my favorite hobby unfortunately I haven't had the money to do cool builds since I was a teen but I sure would love to get back into it. I used to love junk yards when they existed I would find almost everything I needed to build stuff like what you guys build. Awesome. So fun and satisfying to build a mean ass machine that's fast enough to do something stupid on. Lol keep up the good work. Been a while since I seen a odyssey. Pretty Cool guys.

Sry guys, love your content but I just love how the stock odysseys looked. They were the absolute king of ATV's when they debuted back in the 80's and its those memories which make them so hard to find today. I just cant get used to the rail buggy or dune buggy look that you get with those tires/wheels on the Odyssey. I like the big beefy knobby treads on the traditional Odyssey.

I think- Same cool wheels..much lighter lower profile tires. Rally car WRC spec gravel tires fit those wheels? ...I do still think that a WRC spec wheel and tire would be coolest, but....
You guys should do a Edge Barracuda or a Edge Piranha build. Start from scratch and build a machine that works perfectly for you guys. Would be so much fun watching both of you guys racing on 2 buggies at the same time.
Yeah in this case those wheels are too big and heavy for this machine not to mention they don't look quite right....some 27" atv radials on 14" wheels would be perfect and reduce the rotating mass.
Very cool...but your cooling system is not in a very safe or good spot, a roll over or twig will leave your back ,head or body with burns from it being punctured or a hose bursting from being over heated. Seems like you have the time to move it or enclose it some how...otherwise nice job...
I don't think the wheels are that far off I actually think the white wheels on the back look a little bit Overkill but they're not deep dish so I think maybe that's part of it as well there to flat-looking.... But believe it or not I think the wheels in front look pretty much right just maybe a little taller would actually be better.... If you look at a regular dune buggy the rear wheels are by far over-exaggerated prayer to the front

If that is a liberty motor out of a polaris, put a bigger Rad on it. Also hook a temp gauge up, I think over 260 is when it does that and usually by then damage is already done.
If you put new pistons in it, those 800’s were bad for blowing bottom ends, I’d personally put a 700 bottom end in because they were designed better than the 800 bottom end
You could run a trans axle off a sports car that has a mid mount engine. They can be built to handle over 1000 hp. Or a jeep diff with 1 ton axles.
Axle came out because you have 2 plunging CV joints.. it should one be one plunging CV INNER
I was going to suggest an upgraded radiator. Usually skido's run a heat exchanger above the tracks under the seat to keep the engine cool. Maybe an automotive rad might work

With all these guys swapping aftermarket trailing arms on their SXS why not see if you can find a cheap set of stock ones and run those on the Odyssey? Just a thought. 👍
Looks like rear wheel bearings are next....tires and wheels are way too big....I think the leverage from tires killed control arm....plus, smaller tires = more torque
Can we get the next build to be a diesel truck? Kubota makes (or made, not sure if they do anymore) a little Diesel engine and it would be so dope to see a truck body on a custom fabbed chassis rolling smoke from a hood stack

Man that thing is insane! and tbh in my opinion it looks better with the small tires. looks more factory, the car wheels made it look a bit like a backyard buggy. awesome job guys cant wait to see more of this

You should check the crank too, If its hard to turn over that is probably bent/out of alignment. Or the bearings could be shot.

Hope your fuel doesn't have ethanol in it, the black tank foam will break down and clog everything in the carbs..
I don't know if it was because the video fps were a certain way, but it seems the radiator fan wasn't going well at 14:19, and so you might just need a new fan motor?
That ‘spark retarding’ you speak of if it did have some form of ecu is what they call ‘limp mode’ if any sensor is not reading right it cuts the power to the motor thus the term limp mode
I put JBWWeld in a bearing housing then lathed it down and pressed in the new bearing. It was in the end of my chain crencher, a 4 inch bearing and it lasted a couple of years.
What if you get a little bigger rad and mount it in the front. You would have more antifreeze cause the piping would be longer as well.
That things awesome but I think it'll look better with smaller rear wheels and the same size front wheels as the ATV wheels that are on it now.. But its badass either way!!
