    The sound of that motor running gave me flashbacks to 1980-1981. Three-wheelers really are dangerous. I was one of those kids that got my leg under the tire after my foot bounced off the foot peg while going too fast down a gravel road. It ran over my back as my face skidded through the gravel. So much fun! Kids today don't know what they're missing. 😂🤣😂

      Their only Dangerous to People that don't know how to ride them and that's what got them Banned in the USA. I grew up in the 3-Wheel Mania of Early to Mid Eighties when everybody and their Brother could go out and Buy these not knowing how to ride and getting injured or Killed. Yes, they are Harder to ride than a Quad or a Dirt Bike, but if you know how to use Body English in the Turns and Off Camber they were a Blast.

    How fun. The Honda ATC. The 70, 90, 110 , the 185’s, and the big red. And then the three wheeler that killed them all… the 250R. That and the Yamaha tri-Z. And the 4 wheeler was born. The 110 was a fun ATC with the Honda 3 speed clutch less transmission. The only flaw was the suspension was the air pressure in the tires. 😄 You guys saved an absolute treasure!

    This brings back memories. Growing up we had a 1977 or 1978 ATC70 and then in 1980 Mom and Dad surprised us with a brand new ATC110! I wish I knew how many miles us kids put on those wheelers. Woke up in the morning and they pretty much ran all day. I remember one time we had to sand the points. In 1997 we sold the farm. Wheelers went with the farm. I have no idea what ever happened to them.

    So cool to see Ezrah again ... he, "PBG" Dalton, Tom, John, and Angus (together or on their own, or mixed and matched with all of your other gearhead cronies) always make for great interaction, awesome content, add Mook, along with you Kevin, and your straight up freekin' hilariously funny yet instructive babbles of information always make the wait for the next vid just too damn long... so getting 2 vids in a week is a welcome bonus. Peace out, from Doc, in the Great White (yup, it's gettin' white again) North of southern Ontario, Canada🦫🦫🟥🍁🟥 .... BTW, listening to you and Ezrah doing your "North Country" or Minnesota/Wisconsin accents reminds me of when I lived in Thunder Bay, Ontario... there are a shit ton of folks there and in the area southwest of T-Bay that sound JUST like that...lmfao.

    So when I was 9 for Christmas my parents bought me a brand new Suzuki lt80 quad for Christmas. My neighbor and best friend who was a year younger then me. Got the 72cc version of this 3 wheeler. His was definitely faster and it had a 3 speed where my was automatic. To give you reference to the year I was born in 86. So like this was 1995 I think. I'll never forget the first time riding. And then going next door to his house to see him ride his. He drove up from his house to the alley all in first gear. Down into the house next door that was empty and decrepit straight to the house wide open and right through the back door into the screened in porch. His dad freaked out. Afterwards he was fine for whatever reason. Needless to say. We drove the crap out of them both.

    The torch tip cleaner is nice, but if you have a buddy who plays the guitar, go over to his house with wire snips and ask if you can trim the "whiskers" on the tuning head. It doesn't affect the guitar, and the small pieces of metal wire fit very nicely in the orifices of most carburetors. And if his guitar has nylon strings, you really need to choose your friends better, eh. Another great video!

    I bought my Honda 250 ES shaft drive three wheeler in 1985 brand new, it’s never been in the shop and still runs great! A year ago I put new tires and brakes on it and I just changed the choke cable! The start button quit working so I put a heavy duty button on it, push the but and choke it and it fires right up every time! One thing is the kick start is kinda stripped out and I have to kick it and hold it until it quits spinning and the next kick it cranks up! You can’t kill em!

    The best part of this video was not when the engine broke free. It was not when you and Ezra were joking around, ribbing each other back and forth. It wasn't when you went and dug out the wheels from the other machine, nor when you mounted them on Mike's machine and rode it for the first time.
    The best part was when Mike rode it for the first time in decades. Keep doing what you do Kevin 😊

My parents got me plenty of motorized things over the years. Unfortunately with moving I didn't keep any. Only 2 years ago I found a 1979 stepside that was the same style and color as the one my father had when I was in grade 10. I bought it and have enjoyed Sharing the new memories with my daughters. Hopefully this winter I get a 502 engine to put in it in the spring

    I started out working on old mopeds etc and a little thing I ended up researching and finding for corrosion removal is phosphoric acid which can be bought in large containers then diluted, saved me trying to get in all the little fins on the cylinders and in the tank. Just generally useful and used properly is just a corrosion remover for most metals. Not sure this is new info or useful but its certainly efficient compared to buying rust converters that need a small mortgage to afford :) Loving the content as always lads, blows my mind as someone from the UK.

    What a great restoration. 2 ideas as you like to work on these old machines on a budget. 1 plastic stapler/welder is a great way to repair those plastics. It is much faster and easier with a better finish. Less than $20.00. Also if you add ATF to those old dry rotted tires they will swell on the inside and prevent slow air leaks. I have been doing this for years on dry rotted tires and they hold for years. Thank you for sharing.

    Are those popular because they are so dangerous?

    • @frankferguson4357
      @frankferguson4357 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      They're known for being dangerous because the average person would try to ride one like an ATV and roll it over because its a trike. The singular front wheel makes it tippy when you make hard turns at high speeds. If you understand how to shift your weight on it they were perfectly safe to operate. But like I said, people that didn't know how to ride them crashed them and called them dangerous.

      How can something that slow be dangerous

    • @frankferguson4357
      @frankferguson4357 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ville-pekkaihamaki1166 they go a lot faster than what was seen on the video. You also saw how when someone like Kevin got on and sat a little farther back on the seat made it wheelie when he shifted gears. The trikes were originally meant to fulfill the UTV role. Low range for pulling trailers, high range for road travel or trail riding. And while yes, let's call it 20 mph, may seem slow it's more than enough to cause it to tip or roll. The other thing to remember is the trikes don't weigh hardly anything, so there's not much to keep them grounded. You know the three wheeled motorcycles you see old people riding on the road? They have two wheels in the front and one in the rear because it's way more stable, unlike the Honda's. Like I said in my last comment, they're not hard to control if you know how to ride them but are still more likely to roll/crash than any ATV.

    I had a 110 as a kid, it was a wore out irrigating rig on the ranch, so I drug it out of the barn, and got it running. Ran it with the choke on the whole time I had it because my dad told me if I took the carb off, I would never get it back together. I remember the muffler was rotted out, so Dad welded up a piece of galvanized pipe for an exhaust, and that probably contributed to my hearing loss.
