I have an Olympus E-M1 MK II camera. I bought it instead of a GH5 / GH5 II because my teeenage son needed a camera to use. I loaned him my S5 (original) first to test out, and the AF was, not surprisingly, unusable in his tests. So we got the E-M1 MK II with the Firmware 3.0 update and no more AF problems. Also, on an unrelated topic (but still sticking with Lumix cameras), Panasonic really needs a full frame lens that starts at around 16mm and goes to 60mm, AND has lens stabilization, if they are going to continue with the aps-c crop on their full frame cameras when shooting in 4K 50p / 60p. That would give someone the ability to get an equivalent of 24mm full frame when shooting 4K 50p / 60p on the full frame cameras. The reason for lens stabilization (in addition to IBIS) is to avoid the crop incurred when using some of the IBIS stabilization modes that reduce corner warping.
For me MFT is excellent. I film live theatre, concerts and dance shows with multiple cameras. The deeper focus is actually a big advantage is this situation. I have two GH5’s, one GH5 Mk2, and one GH6. I have owned a GH3, a GH4, and an AF100.

Thanks for the video, Josh: The two things I would like to see are 1) A comparison of the video picture profiles (other than V-LOG) on the GH7 vs the S5 II (or S5 IIX). I ask because a lot of people say that there is too much noise reduction built in to the S5 II / IIX in picture profiles other than V-LOG. So I would like to know if the GH7 (or G9 II) has that same problem with too much noise reduction in profiles other than V-LOG. The second thng would be real-world dynamic range differences between the GH7 and S5 II / IIX (this time USING V-LOG). If I were to have a bonus comparison, it would be shooting in the Arri Log compared to shooting in V-LOG, then doing a color space transform in Resolve to Arri Log, and seeing how much of a difference there is. Thanks!!!
i had a rant about why i loooove my gh5 way more than any canon camera i've ever owned and you just hit a great point that i missed...Open gate. the 4:3 format is so much more useful than the 3:2 ratio.
I use the lumix G9 and a canon 5DIII for FF when needed with a 70-200mm f2.8L IS and 85mm f1.4 SamYang. I think there is a strong case for having both systems. The selection of small high quality lenses available in MFT is unbeatable. There are a few lenses that epitomise the benefits for me: - Olympus 45mm and 75mm f1.8 - Panasonic 14-140mm f5.3 II - Olympus 75-300mm - Panasonic 9mm f1.7 All these are outstanding lenses and incredibly small compared with FF counterparts. @@JoshCameron I would be surprised if the Pen F doesn’t return at some point. The question will be whether its functionality is significantly updated. If so it should be a winner. The other thing about MFT is that the lenses and smaller cameras (esp the smaller Oly and GX9 etc) are closer in size to many of the popular film era cameras. I think the form factor peaked with cameras like the original OM-1 and Minolta X-300. Unfortunately FF can’t yet be packaged small enough but MFT is there.

GH2 and G9. I was introduced to the GH2 by the Madsciencefilms channel who still shoots some videos on it. It is 1080p obviously less DR but has a copper tint and a real retro vibe.
I just upgraded to the GH7 From the GH5. This autofocus is is realy different. I shoot events with crowds, what would be the best autofocus setting to shoot in a crowd, without the autofocus going crazy?
I still use my Lumix GH5s and won’t sell it. The ROI in this M43 space is excellent!! I also owned the GH4, GH5, G7 and most recently sold my S1 Full Frame and my two lenses. Would rather pick up the GH7 and another GH5s to have a compact 3 cam system or two cam and a backup!
The GH series has always been outstanding, ever since the GH4 I’d say. The GH6 fell a bit short since it was so highly anticipated yet didn’t fix the AF issue, so I think I the GH7 is making up for quite a lot of it ✌🏻
Some of this broll is insanely good. The colours and dynamic range are insane! 😮 Were you shooting Arri log or Vlog for most of the broll? Really hope the arri log makes its way to the full frame cameras also. Thanks for taking the time to make a detailed video. 👊🏼
Loving the features you're pointing out. Great example of each. I notice all your shots in this video are outside in direct sunlight. Do you think you can do video showcasing indoor performance? Ex: I do restaurant shoots indoors and often don't have control of the lighting. 80%+ of the time, I'm at f/2.8 on my Sony full frame cameras to help reduce noise. I want to see how the GH7 handles a similar situation and if the footage will hold up noise wise.
FYI the read out speed is a limiting factor on the sensor side, most processor has more than enough power to handle 25MP. IMX410 found on the S5 is the perfect example😁
I didn't know that! Thanks for the insight - I always assumed it was a pairing of the sensor and processor that made a difference to the readout speed!
Yea and rolling shutter is horrible on these full frames. Everything except the a7siii is bad for sports, the GH is great but then lowlight! AHHHHHHH 😢
Yo!! I'm a G9 user with 12-60 leica I'm now a lil bit disapointed by night and with the auto focus, I know the AF system is different, but what about the low lights compare to the full frame? thank you
Here in mexico is complicated to get and test a mft camera, i was thinking in a om1 or om5, or gh6mkii now i am not sure what to get, i do photography, and want to explore into wild life photography Recommendations?
If you're a stills shooter first and also do wild life photography, so logically you don't want to be carrying massive lenses around with you, then the obvious choice is the Lumix G9II. And you can pair that with the new 100-400mm Pana-Leica lens, which is a 200-800mm full frame equivalent! And the IBIS on the G9II is the best in the world, so you can even shoot handheld at 800mm and still get steady shots! No, I'm not joking. And if you have the time, please feel free to let us know what you eventually settled on. Best of luck 🙂
I know not everyone can take advantage of this, but Open Gate 5.7k is perfect for anamorphic. 4:3 with a 2x squeeze anamorphic comes out to exactly 2.4x widescreen after de-squeeze. Scope baby all day long without losing a pixel for cropping.
Are you sure autofocus with Canon lenses will be good? I heard with both Metabones and Viltrox it doesn’t work properly, like on the S5IIX and Sigma fp/Viltrox EF-L adapter. Maybe we need to wait for some software updates from Metabones or Viltrox.
Gh5 is still amazing!!! I imagine the Gh7 with speedbooster plus sigma lenses, Ef lenses, Fd lenses canon old school, with the Helios, the 24-70 Ef …. Going to be craaaazy good ❤️ and the stabilizer plus auto focus for concerts and festivals ❤️❤️❤️ pro res ❤️❤️❤️ small to travel
I used the GH series from GH 1 through GH5. Year and a half ago I switched to the S5 in the S52 and have been trying to make them work. they are both good cameras, but I still personally love the GH series and I’m planning on getting a GH 7. I do a lot of event shooting as well as commercial shoots and the ease of the menus, the size. I personally find much quicker and better than the S5 series which are bigger and heavier.
I am thinking between S5IIx and GH7 (S5II is not an option). Im photos first but wanna make more videos. I think, I'll be fine with the 50mm and the 20-60mm kit lenses for a while, if I choose S5IIX. Why I still hesitate: I'm wandering if the full frame really is so much bigger than the the mft (not the body in this case but lenses. I am wandering if size would make me leave the camera at go home. In this case, I know both bodies are big, but don't want to go for the S9. Thank you for any advice
Hello bro, I want to ask you which camera do you recommend I buy, the gh7 or the s5iix? Which one is better? I really want to buy one this week but I'm confused! and watching your previous videos I felt that the s5iix was the best option but now that I see the new video of the gh7 I got more confused lol! That's why I ask you the question! thanks my friend
If you are more of an video shooter take gh7, if you are more photo guy take s5II. It is much easier to make a great shot using m4/3, you have much more stability (which is essential) you have fantastic range of fps on your disposal, and thing that every YTer talk's about consigning m4/3 low light performance, put anything faster then f2 and there is no difference to FF cameras consigning low light, quality of footage or background blur. Plus and that is a big plus, lenses are much, much more affordable and there is much bigger pool to choose from, and that gives you much more options consigning look of your footage, since lens haves more impact on how material looks then camera body itself. I owned and used all three sensor sizes so this is from experience not from watching others talk about these topics.
They are different cameras with different features. If you don't know what you need then step one is make a list of what is important and what you want to achieve then see which camera gives you that. Neither is "better" they are aimed at different target audiences
Yes. And that makes them not equivalent to specific full frame lenses, because to get equivalent FF lens, one has to multiply F-number too, not just focal length.
Hi Josh love the Ed cameo...😂😂😂...still have GH5,5s,P4K left with lenses for some use long tele small footpring MFT is by far the best...for IQ DR low light...S5org,S5ii,S5iiX much better. Codecs GH7 wins...to say the truth I don't know exactly for who is this cameras...crash cam for big production, B cam for arri owners, Student cam for filmschool wanting to try out the Arri pipeline...or old MFT GH5 users like me who waited so long for a true GH5 sucessor that we went almost all to FF and mostly not LUMIX...😅😅😅😅
"despite the TINY sensor size..." - what would you say the good old 1", super16, 1/3" etc sensor sizes then? :D dont get me wrong, being an m43 admirer I appreciate everyone who say good words about m43, but this part of the sentence was a bit hard :)
@@EdvardKALEN despite of "different times", these are still facts. I recommend to check your phone's sensor, or some classic camcorder / compact camera for comparison. Those are really tiny. In addition, size only matters for those who compensates, IMHO
Thanks for the review. I was anxiously waiting for you to review this camera. What I do like to see is AF and low light performance with adapted full frame EF lenses via speed booster and compare the footage to FF S5iix. Thanks
I just priced a Panasonic FF 24-70 f/2.8 against their MFT 12-35 f/2.8 (I've had a GH3 since not long after it came out, so have an older version of the 12-35). Yeah... I'll stick to MFT. I'm a photojournalist at a TV news station, where we're issued Sony PXW-X400's, but have A7ii's and a couple of FX9's with some proper zooms available for special projects. Full Frame, for all it has going for it, is a giant PITA to work with if you're one man banding, and I end up having to stop down so much in order to keep subjects in focus that it kinda negates the benefits. Lord, I miss my old AF-100. if Panasonic sold a spiritual successor to it... not one of their current box cameras, but a proper camcorder with an MFT mount... they would sell a bazillion of them.
I resorted to buying FF Nikon, Mft Panasonic, underwater Olympus, and DJI stuff 😂. I will also buy a Sony ZV E1 for night shots. All these cameras are tools in a bag. Expensive hobby 😅.
Hi Josh, Thanks for that video. I first had GH4 then GH5 then GH6. Then S5 and now S5ii. When phase detection AF came to S5ii, I decided to sell the GH6 while it still had some value but kept all m4/3 glass waiting phase detect AF arrived to m4/3. Almost bought G9ii but finally waited a bit and just bought the GH7. Happy to reuse my micro 4/3 glass: .10-25mm 1.7 (but as heavy as a full frame 24-70 2.8 with less reach) .35-100 2.8 (so smaller than the 70-200mm 2.8 full frame equivalent) .42.5 1.2 (this lens is beast in portrait photography, much better than the equivalent full frame 85mm 1.8) .100-400mm (for wildlife and surfing, amazing reach equivalent to 200-800mm full frame but so smaller) I am still wondering if it was a good choice to keep m4/3 and L full frame instead of selling all m4/3 to invest in full frame L. I must confess that among the criteria’s which lead me to keep the m4/3 in parallel with S5ii and wait for the gh7 , I had in mind: .the m4/3 42.5 1.2 Nocticron impossible to replace with the 85 mm 1.8 Lumix . The 70-200 2.8 full frame which is so heavy that almost impossible to use in a run and gun situation . The 100-400mm m4/3 and it’s incredible reach. We see in a few months….
do you use 35-100 2.8 for handheld video shooting on m43 cameras? I wonder if you have faced video micro jitter around 100mm, because I have this issue
@@NeroMC my answer will mainly concern the pictures, not the video: first reason is that the percentage of failed pictures because of failed autofocus is much higher on the 85mm, second reason is more difficult to explain because there is some kind of magic in the 42.5 1.2 Noctticron that makes all portraits look amazing, even the ugly models will look beautiful with this lens while this is rarely happening with the 85mm which is good but not amazing… Maibe that’s the magic of the Leica signature on the Nocticron. In video, when using autofocus, the 85mm with S5ii is much better. I hope that with the GH7 this will be improved but slightly worried as I read about updates for few of the most recent Leica-Lumix m4/3 lenses but not this one….
Dude! Solid content as usual! I started with the G85 (still use it) and then moved to S5iix. I'm waiting for S1Hiix but this is definitely tempting. Btw where do you get your white t's from? The quality looks 🔥
I hope we get a flagship sooner than later, I know people are crying out for it! Haha thanks mate, the white T’s are from Hollister, it’s the “Active Cooling” range and they’re super comfy and don’t crease. I have multiples of them in literally every colour , it’s all I wear 😂
GH7 is the best camera Lumix has released so far in my opinion, even better than S5iix (controversial!). There is basically no compromises and NO competition for it.
If you’d like to rely on AF a bit more then it’s worth it just for that upgrade, but if you’re not fussed about internal RAW, PDAF or 32bit float audio then I personally wouldn’t bother :) hope this helps!
I'm sorry. But you have to be really confused if you pick a MFT of the shelf for almost the same amount of money instead of Lumix S5 Full Frame. The GH7 is even bigger the S5. What? You hate more sensor size? You hate having more light? MFT is completely pointless unless you in invested heavily in MFT lens stock.
I consider buying a GH7 as I love its size and ergonomics. I have an OM-1, and I can't use it comfortably without a grip attached. The GH7 fits perfectly in my hand exactly because it is bigger. I also have a lot of MFT lenses, as you mentioned.
Human eye size factor. I've been following camera reviews for some times now. MFT has the best view and focal equivalence to the human eyes. Smart phone sensors are small. I can not stand that the portrait I took with my phone didn't look like what I see. Full frame took good pictures, but they didn't look like what I see either. MFT and APSC took pictures that are a lot more like what I see with my eyes.
Increasing points. Personally the GH7 has so many things I'd never use. Wouldn't justify spending 2k on the camera. Having the S5ii covers everything I need in a camera. Still have the Gh5 that covers what I'll need that for. The Clog and whatever else comes with GH7 will never get me thinking I need it. Would rather get the G9ii and put the extra cash towards a good full frame lens. Since I have plenty of mft lens
For me it’s the frame rates on video where in full frame they crop too much. Second stabilization. Their float audio. And fourth is form factor feels more premium. And that’s a wrap 😂
@charleswoo1863 - It's not necessarily smaller. Many lenses are not smaller at all if you account for equivalent F-stop, not just focal length. Of course that F2.8 MFT lens will be smaller than F2.8 FF, but that's not comparable lens. You have to compare size of F1.4 MFT lens to F2.8 FF lens.
@@JoshCameron do any updates at all. Sorry but it seems to me like this one is hardly an update. No higher frame rates.. resolutions. OK internal raw, right? AF, sure. No streaks, got it. So basically everything that the GH6 should be from the beginning ;) it’s not an update, it „ok now it’s working as it should”
5:20 physics cannot bee fooled, if you need an m43 lens with the same amount of light as on FF image, you should make the aperture twice as larger. The f1.7 lenses correspond to f3.5 lenses on FF both in size and price. You will not gain nothing You'd better stay with FF, no risk safe path.
Who needs MFT when you can blur out everything in the background? IBIS is overrated - just use an overpriced gimbal and finicky setup! 4k 120fps 10 bit - we only want it if Sony has it, else, no big deal. Give me big, heavy lenses all day, love carrying around Bazookas!
I disagree! I have a GH6 and BMPCC 4k. It’s very hard to have a satisfactory blur in the background with small sensor. Besides, choice of lenses is much smaller compared to full frame or even APS-C sensors!
GH7 = 805gr S5iix = 740gr. Lumix 10-25 = 690gr Lumix 24-105 = 680gr. These 2 lenses are equal, in terms of light: F4 vs F1.7 (equivalent to 3.4 in ff). I would also like to note that the 24-105 is (or can be) an all-around lens, while the 10-25 is not. Conclusion: WHAT EXACTLY IS THE "ADVANTAGE" OF the mft system? In 2024 and beyond, there is only the FF world (not even apsc...). As long as Panasonic continues to invest in (mft) systems that are slowly dying (if they haven't died already), so much the worse for them.
24-105 is a f4 lense you cant compare it to a 1.7. 1.7 gathers 4 times the light of a 2.8 lense! F4 is pretty dark and even the bokee is better with the mft lense. Advantage of mft? Better rolling shutter, 4k 120, better reach. Smaller lenses. I own a 14-140 which would be a 28-280 in full frame. My lense is super tiny and a full frame would be super huge . I can shoot wide open to get more light without only one eye in focus because of too much booke with full frame. Comparing high end leica mft lenses with cheap kit lenses is a joke to me. You dont get the same image quality out of a 24-105. Mft is Superior for many users in many scenarios. And mft is a much cheaper system as well. There is not a single full frame camera with all the features a gh7 has for the same price.
I still don't understand how people think that a F 1.7 mft will lens gather the same amount of light as an F 4 Full frame lens. The F stop in a lens is not dependent on the format its designed for, an F 1.7 mft lens will gather the same amount of light as an F 1.7 full frame lens. The only difference you can notice would be in the depth of field which will be considerably shallower on the full frame lens.
That’s correct, I’ve fully invested in the L-Mount and know that system the best. That’s not to say that I can’t appreciate the benefits of MFT though :)
@@raizt1596 only if you are buying new autofocus lenses. If you are adapting old manual lenses then technically the GH7 would still be more expensive because you would need a speed booster to get a similar look.
@@raizt1596well i bought the gh7 then i had to upgrade my speedbooster for a metabones because of the af, so i was seeing the lens for S5iix a 24-70 is cheaper then the Lumix equivalent for mft… then im seeing in portugal better deals for ff lenses then mft…. i kinda regret buying the gh7… for what i spent i would have much kit with S5iix and adapter and a lens… next time… now going to make the most of the gh7
as an MFT user and FF user, i would say it is absolutely terrible investment to go MFT. The 10-25mm f/1.7 lens is literally MORE expensive that something similar in L-Mount. The GH7 is too expensive and it can't even shoot openGate60. For glass - you get what you pay for BUT if you get something equivalent on MFT, it is MORE expensive than buying L-Mount. This GH7 is just far too late to the game. The S5ii literally kills the GH series.
And if you go to sony e mount it's even better with full frame lenses or apsc lenses, quite better prices on good lenses. A reason that's pulling me back for the l mount are lenses and for the mft the same. The gh7 has some amazing specs but still lenses like the 10 to 25 is quite expensive for being a mft. And for l mount and f2.8 lens are also quite too expensive but that's happens when there are not so many lens options.
True. I'm a MFT and FF (s5iix, gh5s, s5, G85) user as well. Add the photo quality of a full frame and it's not a good investment to go to this camera. I still shot c roll on my G85 and it's pretty decent for video.

I'll never get over that MFT looks like a toy camera I would buy a nephew for Christmas. It feels like Lumix made a nearly perfect camera in the s5ii/x and then chopped parts off and added a gimmick to several new cameras. The S9 is most of an s5ii with a LUT gimmick, the GH7 is most of an s5ii but with a higher price tag, tiny lenses you can't use anywhere else, and a Arri logC3 gimmick (that everyone is buying into).
I love m4/3 but Panasonic is now exceedingly Woke, so I would only buy Olympus for m4/3 now. But I dont want to contribute to a company that spends my hard earned money on catering to such ignorance. In fact I am now selling my new Lumix S5ii kit abd switching over to a Nikon Z6iii. Yes, I use my GX80 and GH5 actively alongside my S5.

The GH6 fell a bit short since it was so highly anticipated yet didn’t fix the AF issue, so I think I the GH7 is making up for quite a lot of it ✌🏻
The gh5s is a beauty. I filmed my second film with it and anamorphic lenses
Awesome video mate! Ive fallen in love with this camera and only had it a day!
What lens do you have with it?
@@JoshCameron the leica 12-60. I don’t want to send it back 😂
Just sold off all my m4/3 lenses and g85 to MPB then this dropped. Hyperbummed is an understatement to my feelings when the gh7 came out

It was pretty good and simple. I thought it was a fair deal. I totally forgot about KEH. I’d recommend MPB to anyone looking to sell trade or buy
The video images look fantastic! I would love to see an image comparison between the S5ii and the GH7.
Hey Josh, appreciate the content. My s5ii shifts focus to my hands when filming a-roll. It’s on eye detect. Any tips?
Some of this broll is insanely good. The colours and dynamic range are insane! 😮 Were you shooting Arri log or Vlog for most of the broll? Really hope the arri log makes its way to the full frame cameras also.
Thanks for taking the time to make a detailed video. 👊🏼
I was actually shooting in V-Log the whole time, but Ed was shooting some of the shots of me , and that was all ARRI Log ✌🏻
AHHHHHHH 😢
Yo!! I'm a G9 user with 12-60 leica I'm now a lil bit disapointed by night and with the auto focus, I know the AF system is different, but what about the low lights compare to the full frame? thank you
Here in mexico is complicated to get and test a mft camera, i was thinking in a om1 or om5, or gh6mkii now i am not sure what to get, i do photography, and want to explore into wild life photography
Recommendations?
I use a S5iix at work. I still prefer my gh6 and sigma 18-35. IBS is better on GH6 too. Looking forward to getting the GH7.
Awesome test footage and great points 😁
Thank you Em, hope I did MFT justice 😂
Gotta agree! The test footage Josh took was really nice.
Wish they'd make an aps-c camera. I think the chance is basically zero, but I think it would be great
I am thinking between S5IIx and GH7 (S5II is not an option).
I am wandering if size would make me leave the camera at go
home.
In this case, I know both bodies are big, but don't want to go for the S9.
Thank you for any advice
*wondering. And yes, the lenses are much much larger for full frame cameras.
It is much easier to make a great shot using m4/3, you have much more stability (which is essential)
you have fantastic range of fps on your disposal, and thing that every YTer talk's about consigning m4/3 low light performance, put anything faster then f2 and there is no difference
to FF cameras consigning low light, quality of footage or background blur. Plus and that is a big plus, lenses are much, much more affordable and there is much bigger pool to choose
from, and that gives you much more options consigning look of your footage, since lens haves more impact on how material looks then camera body itself. I owned and used
all three sensor sizes so this is from experience not from watching others talk about these topics.
@@cokrlicixthanks for the explanation 🙏
They are different cameras with different features. If you don't know what you need then step one is make a list of what is important and what you want to achieve then see which camera gives you that. Neither is "better" they are aimed at different target audiences
So its not size, its technique?
Would like the GH7 to have open gate 120fps recording option
The lenses are smaller because they have smaller entrance pupils / apetures. It's not because of the sensor size.
Man, these are different times. Every housewife has FullFrame. In such conditions, the Micro sensor is truly tiny.
@@EdvardKALEN despite of "different times", these are still facts. I recommend to check your phone's sensor, or some classic camcorder / compact camera for comparison. Those are really tiny. In addition, size only matters for those who compensates, IMHO

Hi Josh,
Thanks for that video.
Happy to reuse my micro 4/3 glass:
.10-25mm 1.7 (but as heavy as a full frame 24-70 2.8 with less reach)
.35-100 2.8 (so smaller than the 70-200mm 2.8 full frame equivalent)
.42.5 1.2 (this lens is beast in portrait photography, much better than the equivalent full frame 85mm 1.8)
.100-400mm (for wildlife and surfing, amazing reach equivalent to 200-800mm full frame but so smaller)
I am still wondering if it was a good choice to keep m4/3 and L full frame instead of selling all m4/3 to invest in full frame L.
I must confess that among the criteria’s which lead me to keep the m4/3 in parallel with S5ii and wait for the gh7 , I had in mind:
.the m4/3 42.5 1.2 Nocticron impossible to replace with the 85 mm 1.8 Lumix
. The 70-200 2.8 full frame which is so heavy that almost impossible to use in a run and gun situation
. The 100-400mm m4/3 and it’s incredible reach.
We see in a few months….
do you use 35-100 2.8 for handheld video shooting on m43 cameras? I wonder if you have faced video micro jitter around 100mm, because I have this issue
@@medvedevfilms I have not yet received the GH7 so can’t yet answer… but, yes, this was the case with GH6, AF was almost unusable in video.
Why are you saying the noc 42,5 1.2 is better than the Lumix 85?
@@Dokumentara i have the 42,5 1.7, and a bunch off other lenses for micro 4 3 and Nikon glass on speedbooster.... but i want to try full frame

Hi! Thanks! Is it worth to change from GH6 to GH7?
If you’d like to rely on AF a bit more then it’s worth it just for that upgrade, but if you’re not fussed about internal RAW, PDAF or 32bit float audio then I personally wouldn’t bother :) hope this helps!
Nice job! Liked and Subbed.
Thank you! I appreciate it :)
Full frame cameras fighting for their life trying to compete with this little guy
Nobody cares what you like. 😅 This is Josh's thread and his take.
Get the gh7 with the metabones speed booster. Be happy. Or get the Vilitrox speed booster if you're not an ape with your gear
Reasons worh considering for sure
For me it’s the frame rates on video where in full frame they crop too much. Second stabilization. Their float audio. And fourth is form factor feels more premium. And that’s a wrap 😂
32bit float no brainer even though the new release sih11 prob compatible.Thank You
FF Lens selection outweighs these M43 benefits.
I love m43 because everything is so much smaller.
Except the camera itself - look at the comparison with S5. Tiny sensor in a full frame body!
I've had a GH1, GH2, GH4, GH5 and GH6 :)
Streaking. They fixed it, right?
I haven’t seen any streaking so far :)
@@JoshCameron do any updates at all. Sorry but it seems to me like this one is hardly an update. No higher frame rates.. resolutions. OK internal raw, right? AF, sure. No streaks, got it. @@Luke-pn3dr i fully agree 😂😂
5:20 physics cannot bee fooled, if you need an m43 lens with the same amount of light as on FF image, you should make the aperture twice as larger. The f1.7 lenses correspond to f3.5 lenses on FF both in size and price. You will not gain nothing You'd better stay with FF, no risk safe path.
no, f1.7 is f1.7
lumix S1h is still the best video camera
The. OG S5 has better image quality than the s5 ii. And MFT is here to stay.
Gh series is video and g series is photo?? What??
That's how they split the lineup; G Series tend to be more photocentric and they reserve the higher end video features for the GH Line :)
I disagree! I have a GH6 and BMPCC 4k. It’s very hard to have a satisfactory blur in the background with small sensor. Besides, choice of lenses is much smaller compared to full frame or even APS-C sensors!
GH7 = 805gr
S5iix = 740gr.
Lumix 10-25 = 690gr
Lumix 24-105 = 680gr.

True. I'm a MFT and FF (s5iix, gh5s, s5, G85) user as well. Add the photo quality of a full frame and it's not a good investment to go to this camera. I still shot c roll on my G85 and it's pretty decent for video.
