Hi everyone, thanks for watching. This is just a quick A/B comparison between my Sony FX30 and the LUMIX GH7. I have the GH7 on loan until the end of June, so if you want to see anything else - please let me know. Both cameras are great, and the FX30 is a great value option now in 2024. Throughout the video but especially at 2:20 and 4:05, when he moves, the edges of his head and shoulders where it meets against the background are very jittery and jerky. He mentioned he was in aperture priority mode, so could this be because the camera set a wonky shutter speed? I do notice this jittery edge with movements a lot with hybrid cameras vs dedicated cinema cameras, so is it a shutter speed thing or a hybrid cam thing?
It worked pretty great in this video. Walking into frame the Panasonic is definitely faster. I noticed the same thing with the S5II as well. Crazy stuff.
My experience with Sony, as I currently own the FX30, is that it tends to sneak in a little yellow into the skin tones. That's why I've always preferred LUMIX skin tones over most brands except Canon. To me, the GH7 with all of its features is more of a cinema camera than the FX30. But, I still love the FX30. If I can have both I would. I am battling with the idea of switching completely over to the GH7. Thanks for the excellent comparisons.
I went full frame (A7iii & 7iv) coming from 10 years in MFT system (Gh2, G7, G85). Think Lenses. Panasonic doesn't offer all you can get on the E-Mount system. They could have built a great combo of f1.2 lenses, but Panasonic hasn't so you have to rely on their previous stuff with much more DOF than APSC or FF. Dynamic range & autofocus will never beat your Fx30 either.
I shoot my FX-6, my FX-3 and FX-30 all in cinemas EI (log profile) and then color grade it. I don’t get yellowish skin tones, but if I did I could always add more magenta to my color grade. Rarely do I use colors straight out of camera. You can get any color you want from any camera if shot in log with 10 bit color. I even have canon LUTS if I want that look.
Another great Video: Timely, I started to consider full frame but this comparison helped me decide on the “Flagship” I noted a few of your findings, GH7 makes the FX30, and Z6iii seem old. My notes on Gh7 1. Faster Auto focus (who would’ve thought?) 2. Arrie Alexa Luts are only on Panasonic ! 3. Deeper blacks, + exposure curves (mot to mention Features (SSD, 4. Much, Much Smoothest Anti shake. 5. Dynamic range appears wider on GH7 despite Sony's being labelled a "cinema camera". 6. Image of fence at night in your video (side by side) appears better lit on the GH7 despite it having the smaller sensor. 7. Open gate to shoot horizontal, later change it to any screen format is only available on Panasonic 8. Panasonic always led the industry with No heating issues, GH7 has the biggest cooing fan. 9. Sony wins on AF at on 120p but I hardly use 120. 10. The Codecs, both quality and quantity is world’s best.
Can you see a difference between Proresraw and Prores/H265 about details rendering ? I have both the G9II and GH6, when I crop I much prefer the fine details of the GH5, especially in 4K and C4K. The GH6 and G9II show rougher edge sharpening but with less details, and skin textures look mushy in low light, the GH5 has more noise but keep details like a raw still picture. I have the same issue on my S5II when I compare this camera to both my S1 and S5. However external BRAW has not these weird sharpening and detail filtering on the S5II, so I suppose Proresraw on the GH7 must be free from these extra processing too ?
Either. I just shot this guitar video on my other channel using the GH7 & G9II - th-cam.com/video/Jts5l84ehsM/w-d-xo.html You can get great results out of either. If you need to do any handheld footage or photos the GH7 is a better choice.
Do you know if the AF transition speed is the same on both? IE they were both on standard? cinematically I think the slightly slower AF is nicer, but that's only if you are trying to rack focus as part of the shot. But I'm so happy Panny Boy has finally added DPAF!!!
I used to shot on a GH2, GH4 because at the time these were the most video centric cameras. But the reason for M3/4 was to combine cameras with small dimensions with features of large format cameras. The GM1 was (and still is) the best example. What do we have now? A M3/4 sensor camera and the dimensions of a full frame camera. What's the point?
To look more impressive when you bring it to a professional shoot but also cooling. The processors are working a lot harder. I actually prefer the bigger size.
GH7 looks great! I wonder if the Sony AF settings were just in stock (balanced) because that’s a major factor in how quickly they focus. Even on my ZV-E1 if I set transition speed and subject shift sensitivity to Fast, it locks on immediately even with old lenses.
Is there a (or several) reason(s) to get the GH7 instread of the S5ii? I got that one last year because of the phase detect and ’cause it’s full frame.
Great comparison! Also I was told by Sirui they will come out with sniper autofocus lenses for micro 4/3 if there’s more demand so please demand away! 🙏
Are the additional features of the GH7 over the G9II worth the higher price, in your opinion? Aside from the fan allowing endless shooting without overheating, there seems to be no practical reason to chose the GH7 over the G9 II.
The G9II would suit most people who shoot video indoors or who want a smaller and lighter camera. If you're shooting in direct sunlight for longer periods of time, and if it's hot, the GH7 is the better choice. I would get the G9II for any sort of vlogging as well; it's a more cost-effective option.
If you're a streamer who uses the camera for several hours at a time, you'll need a camera won't overheat. The g9ii might be fine for streaming if you select a lower bitrate or resolution, but the gh7 would keep you worry free.
I follow alot of TH-camrs and you are by far the best. The way you deliver the content is near bang on perfect. Simple, to the point, real world comparisons and no bullshit bias like some others. Oh and being an Aussie, big bonus points ! Nice one mate 🤙
Both are great cameras - just depends on personal preference. I own the FX30 and I'm nowhere close to unlocking its full potential. If I was starting from scratch, the GH7 would be tough to beat, but I'm not sure I'd invest in M43 instead of E-mount lenses. Great comparison as usual!
Sometimes it looks like people are buying cameras to be a lens collector. Mft as all other systems have all the lenses the user needs, how many would you need, 4-5 at max. Not a zillion all the e mount has.
i have to get the gh7.the imagestabilization is the best feature in my opinion. I also own the gh5 and still use it for event videos. it is the best because you do not need a gimbal for most of the time. sometimes a gimbal can be too distracting for events and people will look into the camera all the time. while shooting handheld, they do not notice you that much
Would be curious to know how you were setting white balance... Whether it was auto or manual. The gh series has always been absolutely awesome in natural light, but I don't think as strong in man made lighting, which is annoying.
Never used Sony cameras, but looking at the color reproduction, low light, stabilization GH7 is definitely a winner. I own GH9 and that camera will enter the list of legends for great quality.
Panasonic, Nikon and Fuji all have a lot more contrast by default! It gives the illusion of a nicer looking image, but then what happens to the blacks?
The GH7 autofocus is great and everything but I think what make it stand out is how it renders roll offs for highlights/shadows and color rendition. The GH7 just look s good and seems like getting a good image from it is painless. If the image isn't good all of the other features don't even matter.
Shane, did you notice any moire on the gh7 when testing? That’s one thing I’ve noticed on the S5iix on certain clothing. Not a deal breaker, but does moire ever bother you on footage?
It's because they don't have anti-aliasing filters. I prefer the sharpness and am willing to have a little moire because that scenario for me is incredibly rare to happen.
Very good comparison... IMHO, Panasonic always had the potential of offering the most full featured hybrid cameras to the masses and in some ways they already did. This GH7 is a BEAST!!! I can't wait to get my hands on mine.
I just recently bought a lumix S5iix with the new sigma 24-70 mk ii and I will also be getting that GH7 to go with it. I’m gonna sell my GH6. More so excited for that GH7!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
@@michaelkupfer3723 because the streaking issue left me always paranoid when shooting in certain conditions. I would like to start shooting with lower iso when using vlog and yes colors on the Gh6 is a bit better but colorgrading can easily fix that issue.
I have an a7s iii and GH5. I did prefer the colors over Sony straight out of camera. I am however willing to stick with Sony and learn to tune it to what I like for minimal color grading. I still have good mft Leica glass and still deciding if I want a GH7 at launch or to wait a bit because I absolutely don’t need another camera right now lol
The Sony colors are still great. I really like their Movie profile for fast projects, its got a great look and its got a bit more saturation in the skin tones.
If you could suggest ONLY one lens for the GH7, for birds (nature) in action ..... with fast tracking focus .... what would you recommend to me ? Thanks ! Good info BTW.
They're both superb cameras. I love the GH7 screen and would almost buy the camera just to have that! The simplicity of the FX30 makes working with it, at least in my professional environment (almost exclusively locked off on a tripod), perfect.
The GH7 color science and dynamic range appears noticeably better than the Fx30, which left the green in your jacket rather dull. Thanks for making the vid.
@@sloppysteaks I totally get your point about grading any image, my remark is only about the ‘straight out of camera’ look which for my money was more pleasing from the GH7. If anything there were a few moments where the FX30 looked like it was over exposed on the talents head. That was probably just that mischievous ball in the sky. The studio shot with the FX30 looked beautiful. FWIW I can’t remember a paying job where I haven’t tweaked every single clip.
When you turn e-stabilisation on, they are basically the same. The S9 is my favorite camera of the year so far. Small, light, and has awesome IBIS, image quality, and great for handheld work. Check out the IBIS on my initial S9 review, there's a vlogging section on that video :)
If you buy speed booster just get an S5IIX and native lenses and save yourself the hassle with all of the tradeoffs that come with that process. I know a few people that do that looking for a full frame look - full frame does that better and easier now (and also sometimes cheaper)
For the first 90 seconds of the video, I thought the Sony was on the right due to the autofocus......but the colours were screaming Panasonic at me!!! While it was late to the party, Panasonic have leapfrogged with their PDAF and the colours are still oh so good. My GH5's will have to do for the immediate future still but...............
A few points for people to consider: The Sony is over exposed in the beginning. So you can’t really judge them side by side. The Sony and Panasonic looks way more similar when he compares vlog and slog later (rather than Sony’s SOOC look and overexposed) AF is better on the Sony, but it won’t matter for most people. The “tests” done here don’t show how good or quick the AF is at all. If you are starting from scratch, Gh7 is a banger of a deal and the way to go for sure, but not because of the skin tones like people are saying in the comments, or the AF speed. If best of the best AF is you desire, the FX30 is a better choice - it is just better in more challenging and faster moving situations. Reasons the GH7 is actually a better choice are the codecs, open gate, sensor readout speed and ibis. If you need those things, then the GH7 is for you. If you prefer shallower depth of field (with less hoops to jump through) and the ability to have a wider maximum field of view, Sony is still a good choice. Both cameras are sick though. Virtually can’t go wrong, even though the brand new GH7 definitely has the edge over the 2 year old FX30.
Great video. Can you test the 60fps and 100 fps for S5mark2 for HD and see if it has PDAF now or not? You mentioned that S9 has PDAF for HD upto 100 fps. I wonder if S5 mark 2 got the upgrade or not.
You talked about the prize of the camera bodies, but is there a huge difference including the lenses? I don’t own a FX30, but Sony lenses are expensive, or not?
Glad I stuck with Panasonic even with their previous bad AF.. now they're on top and i truly believe they will take over the next decade! Just wait for the S2H to release with even more features than the GH7! Sony watch out 👀
Panasonic natural profile follows the Japanese TV standards for colour regulation, the Sony does not have any profile like that. So Panasonic are actually REALLY popular with Japanese TV Productions because the images were often usable straight out of the camera.
@@harryvlogs7833 I highly disagree. The GH7 has a shutter whereas the FX30 doesn't. What about a hot shoe for flash- also important. The GH7 is a hybrid camera. The Sony is a video camera. That's a major difference.
The Sony’s AF speed and stickiness are adjustable (I imagine the gh7) as well… looks like it’s set to pull focus a bit slower and smoother right now which is visually pleasing, but you can speed it up if you wanted. Edit: Sony’s AF is still better compared to modern Panasonic with up to date firmware. But the difference is negligible now outside of very challenging scenarios (fast moving athletes, remarkably busy background, etc) where the Sony is just hands down better - based on my experience with the FX30 vs the S5iiX with newest firmware.
About the AF test, why dont you try it 1 more time, cz at this one, Sony FX30 has 35mm f/1.8 lens, which is like "beginner lens", while Lumix with the Leica lens which is the "Pro lens" of Lumix, why don't you test it with equivalent lens, I mean Leica one vs GM one, or is there something I miss??😅
The Sony SEL35F18F is a $748 USD lens (about a $999 in Australia). It's not the same as their 50mm cheap one. I tested primes on both systems when I reviewed the S5II, the AF detection is way faster on the LUMIX stuff. The A7SIII was the best at the time and it was lagging behind the detection of subjects. th-cam.com/video/TuHBAEsmM_w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VyDGO0LxEdkoovQk
I'm a month late to the party but want to thank you for the great comparison! I'm very interested in this comparison as I own watered down versions of these cameras in the form of a Sony A6100 and Lumix GH1. My Sony has great AF but makes me look like a lobster with magenta skin tones. I'm a little disappointed by the yellow/jaundice skin tones of the latest Sony colour science and The GH7 colour science, DR and IS looked amazing here. It's tempted to sell my Sony and lenses and go all in with Lumix.
Thanks for the kind words. The skin tones on the FX30 are pretty good compared to the old days. I have no problems with their default picture profiles anymore. The panasonic is slightly nicer to my eye with some and vice versa. Overall though, VLOG, Natural, and Portrait are great to use on the LUMIX.
Yo he usado las Sony tengo desde la alpha100 hace 2 años compre la gh6 y me enamore de ella solo le faltaba enfoque, ya la veía superior a Sony y en 3 a 4 meses me compro la GH7 ❤
hmmm....does the low light really compare to the FX30....I have done some testing myself with the FX30...up to ISO 4000 with color grading the image is excellent and this is also on my 10 bit Benq monitor...the idea that the m4/3 can keep up with the APSC seems like a bit of a stretch...I mean at one time I had a FF Canon 6d Mark II and I will admit the low light on that was better than the FX30...even though the FX30 is supposed to manage low light better...
The old M43 camera are only good to about 2000 it’s a lot better now than older generation cameras. The DR boost helps with low light performance a lot more now. That was all shot in standard picture profiles and not LOG.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy just my two cents...I think today any camera that gives you 10 bit with a log profile to grade are almost all equal in terms of quality...more a matter of taste...go watch the movie Collateral with Tom Cruise....tons of noise, low dynamic range...most youtubers have better cameras on thier desktop but could never produce anything close...the product videos are fun...but I will be sticking with my FX30 units for a while 😁
@@GeekyNerdyTechy one thing I will admit that is great on the GH7...32 bit recording...I just lost about 2 hours of recording because of the levels...from my understanding this does not happen with 32 bit...my interviews are OK...but when the loud speaker was on in the park...everything was spiking...if the 32 bit internal takes away all those worries that would be Wonderfull...as a one-man show...set and forget is what I need...focus on what is in front of the lens 😁
Excellent video. You pretty much summed up everything perfectly. As amazing as the gh7 is, it's not enough to get me out of the Sony APS-C ecosystem. That image stabilization is very attractive though. I hate having to use a gimbal.
I didn't say that at all. The autofocus on the LUMIX is set to default and the Sony is set to +4 on both the speed and sensitivity. You can speed it up, but I wanted to showcase everything in the middle.
One of the reasons i think the mft system is superior is that the physics gives you better reach for super-telephoto whilst at the same time letting lenses be lighter and cheaper. The drawbacks can be solved by improving technology; sensors can become more sensitive, and manufacturing techniques can make lenses faster so we can still have our bokeh and pay for it too. MFT for the win. I was considering getting the S5iiX but I think its smarter to get the GH7.
It's pretty clear that the FX30 was set to pull focus slowly-which can be a feature when a more natural focus is desired...but it can also be set to fast and I think they would have been similar if that had been the setting.
The speed and sensitivity were set to 4 which is above middle. Some lenses will perform better with the same settings like the GM stuff but it’s all I had.
Holy heck... I noticed how much better subject separation the one on the right had, and I thought for sure that it was the Sony FX30... NOPE! It was the GH7 with a $150 lens LMAO 😂 Absolutely unbelievable! There's honestly no reason to buy any other hybrid mirrorless/cine camera besides the GH7 anymore... And to think that this is just the pre-production model demo model is just wild. Imagine how much better it will be with future firmware updates!
Dated now…but I preferred the right, which I assumed was the Sony…nope, it was the gh7. It just it looked cleaner and background blur was a bit much, but still preferred it to the left which I also thought looked fine btw.
Great review as always. We’re at a point where no matter the system you choose you can get amazing results from any modern camera. It’s a great time to be photo/video shooter 🎉
There is no comparison. Panasonic fixed their main issue, video autofocus. E-mount is not optimized for video, the mount is too small and depends on EIS for decent stabilization in video which bakes motion blur artifacts when having the 180 degree motion blur. Here's how smooth Panasonic is handheld with no additional stabilization in post: th-cam.com/video/vgAfi31ioks/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lrpJq2juexMI_RTq - skip to 4 minutes for the otters. Sony has too many issues: excessive focus breathing, no shutter angle on most cameras (a simple software feature), no good respectfully compressed natural noise profile you can grab with Neat Video to extract more signal to noise ratio unless you shoot externally or get it "in camera" on the $25,000 Sony Burano. You can get a good noise profile on a $1,200 GH5 II shooting in LongGOP. Been using Panasonic MFT exclusively since 2014. From the f/0.95 Voigtländer lenses to the Panasonic Leica lenses, it's a wonderful system for video!
One thing I found in the GH7 and G9II manual was that they can't do full sensor 4:3 open gate at 4.4K 60/50p, it's pixel/pixel. Considering that they're doing a big open gate push with the S9 and Lumix Lab app it's a shame there's a crop. The GH5II *can* do its 4K open gate 60/50p with the full sensor though.
I had a GH4 and loved it. I thought I grew out of the Micro 4/3rds after cinema professionals scoffed at my camera with no SDI hookups (not that I was using my gh4 in that capacity. But all those features just remind me of why I love the GH Line of cameras. I honestly would get a GH7 If I had the funds.

Wow the GH7 is a clear winner. I didn't expect that !!
The skin tones gave it away instantly. Panny was just so much better.
But Shane which would be better for guitar video?
How's the low light on the GH7?
Check the timestamps.
Clear win for the GH7! But they’re both good cameras
GH7 looks great! I wonder if the Sony AF settings were just in stock (balanced) because that’s a major factor in how quickly they focus. Even on my ZV-E1 if I set transition speed and subject shift sensitivity to Fast, it locks on immediately even with old lenses.
Could you possibly provide the gh7 arrilog footage as a downloadable link so I can try to colorgrade on my own before I decide to purchase the camera?
I instantly liked the right image the most... It´s so pleasant...without bla bla bla!
Is there a (or several) reason(s) to get the GH7 instread of the S5ii? I got that one last year because of the phase detect and ’cause it’s full frame.
smaller body, smaller lenses, internal ProRes RAW, less rolling shutter, higher frame rates, optional ARRI Log C3, tally lamps, 32-bit float audio with XLR2 adapter, CF Express card, 4K/120, flip/tilt screen doesn’t interfere with cables, etc.
I never owned sony cameras but their images always looked to clinical and clean.
Hey, great review as always! Does the gh7 support phase af hd50fps and above or not like the s5ii and s5iis!
They do
Great comparison!
Also I was told by Sirui they will come out with sniper autofocus lenses for micro 4/3 if there’s more demand so please demand away! 🙏
What about using the GH7 with Canon EF lenses (i.g. 24-105) and a Metabones speed booster, does it work reliably?
Fantastic comparison! The GH7 has really nice colours 👌
This is such a great video! Fascinating results. Thanks for talking the time to make it.
Thanks, Mark! I hope you're well, mate. You're videos are killing it online. Well done! :)
Great video Shane. The GH7 really has taken things into the wow level! Big thumbs up! 👍👍👍👍🤪
Thanks, Peter. It's great camera - we do need to see one in the Christmas room coming up. :)
Panasonic out here making us proud.
I follow alot of TH-camrs and you are by far the best. The way you deliver the content is near bang on perfect. Simple, to the point, real world comparisons and no bullshit bias like some others.
Oh and being an Aussie, big bonus points !
Nice one mate 🤙
Thanks so much mate 😄
Both are great cameras - just depends on personal preference. I own the FX30 and I'm nowhere close to unlocking its full potential. If I was starting from scratch, the GH7 would be tough to beat, but I'm not sure I'd invest in M43 instead of E-mount lenses. Great comparison as usual!
M43 lens selection is not as robust as Sony E and the gap is only gonna get wider.
Sometimes it looks like people are buying cameras to be a lens collector. Mft as all other systems have all the lenses the user needs, how many would you need, 4-5 at max. Not a zillion all the e mount has.
@@frankfeng2701 MFT lenses are super-solid. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by them not being as robust as Sony E-mount...
i have to get the gh7.the imagestabilization is the best feature in my opinion. I also own the gh5 and still use it for event videos. it is the best because you do not need a gimbal for most of the time. sometimes a gimbal can be too distracting for events and people will look into the camera all the time. while shooting handheld, they do not notice you that much
wow i didn't expect that with the Panaleica 25mm 1.4, which is one of the worse lens in terms of autofocus!
It did a way better job than I thought with this lens, no questions about it! I was very surprised in a good way.😀
Would be curious to know how you were setting white balance... Whether it was auto or manual.
The gh series has always been absolutely awesome in natural light, but I don't think as strong in man made lighting, which is annoying.
The outside clips were shot using the cloudy day white balance preset when it was totally overcast.
The video I’ve been waiting for!
Not because I’m torn between the cameras but the FX30 is such a standard for crop cameras.
Never used Sony cameras, but looking at the color reproduction, low light, stabilization GH7 is definitely a winner. I own GH9 and that camera will enter the list of legends for great quality.
Do you mean G9?
@@CMP25 My mistake. I meant G9
Panasonic, Nikon and Fuji all have a lot more contrast by default! It gives the illusion of a nicer looking image, but then what happens to the blacks?
What was the focus speed set to in the menue on the fx30?
4 on both.
Why sell the GH6? I watched like 20 videos and still doubt that the image quality is better on the GH7?
Like the gh6 it would surely be off by 600$ in 3 months as its not selling 😅
If you could suggest ONLY one lens for the GH7, for birds (nature) in action ..... with fast tracking focus .... what would you recommend to me ? Thanks ! Good info BTW.
The 12-60mm is a good all-round lens, but it depends on how far away you'll be from the birds. The 100-300mm may work better for farther shots.
Very good job. If the GH7 is not going to be the new legendary camera it would be surprising.
To me, it seems that GH7 has better DR than FX30!
The GH7's autofocus isn't as smooth as the Sony. For film making I want a smooth non-stepping background defocus. Can this be adjusted in the GH7?
Yes, you can change the speed and sensitivty in camera to adjust the AF.
Completely subjective. They both grade the same. Can look however you want. Rec709 flavouring is irrelevant imo.
Hi is the S9 stabilisation equal to the GH7.
When you turn e-stabilisation on, they are basically the same. The S9 is my favorite camera of the year so far. Small, light, and has awesome IBIS, image quality, and great for handheld work. Check out the IBIS on my initial S9 review, there's a vlogging section on that video :)
YOu sure both AF settings were on the "Find fastest" setting? Sony seems to use a smooth AF roll up.
I mentioned the settings in the video. Sony set to 4 + 4 and the Panasonic set to default settings (neither fast or slow).
Dude you have such a man crush on Lumix. You also slid the color temp on the FX30 shot at 5:21sec
The entire outside shot was set manually to cloudy day white balance. Thanks for watching.
thats just the sony
My current game plan is to buy the GH7, add a speedbooster / adaptor, and use Canon glass on it? Would love to hear your thoughts.
If you buy speed booster just get an S5IIX and native lenses and save yourself the hassle with all of the tradeoffs that come with that process. I know a few people that do that looking for a full frame look - full frame does that better and easier now (and also sometimes cheaper)
Great comparison Shane. Honest and evenhanded.
Thanks, Todd! I've been enjoying your recent videos mate. Well done. :)
A few points for people to consider:
The Sony is over exposed in the beginning. So you can’t really judge them side by side. The Sony and Panasonic looks way more similar when he compares vlog and slog later (rather than Sony’s SOOC look and overexposed)
AF is better on the Sony, but it won’t matter for most people.
I think you have the auto focus pull on slow or medium. It's super fast if you set it on fast
The Sony is set to 4 on the speed and sensitivity.
@GeekyNerdyTechy oh! I have mine set to a very low speed and seems faster than your example... maybe the lens? Thanks for the conparison anyways!
You talked about the prize of the camera bodies, but is there a huge difference including the lenses? I don’t own a FX30, but Sony lenses are expensive, or not?
my fx30 is always giving yellowish skin tone? how to fix that?
Glad I stuck with Panasonic even with their previous bad AF.. now they're on top and i truly believe they will take over the next decade! Just wait for the S2H to release with even more features than the GH7! Sony watch out 👀
They won't 😅😅😅 they got like 5% of the marketshare 😅 the who professional world is using sony.
Hell, what do you say about a GH7 vs FX3 video? 👀
I’ll see what I can do if I can put it together before the month is out. 😀
Damnit, just bought an FX3 😂 But I do like panny colors. Def let us know your thoughts on this comparison!!
I just love the panasonic gh7 and now pana has a GREAT autofocus also!!!
Panasonic natural profile follows the Japanese TV standards for colour regulation, the Sony does not have any profile like that.
So Panasonic are actually REALLY popular with Japanese TV Productions because the images were often usable straight out of the camera.
GH7 or G9ii. Moving up from the GH5M2. Take 50% pictures and 50% video?
G9II unless you're shooting somewhere really hot in direct sunlight.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy thanks. G9ii. Never gets hot in the UK
Can you compare GH7 with Fujifilm xh2s
Good video, but did I hear you not mention the photo features? IMO, that’s one of the most important aspects.
No photo isn't as these are dedicated video cameras not photos which g9ii is
@@harryvlogs7833 I highly disagree. The GH7 has a shutter whereas the FX30 doesn't. What about a hot shoe for flash- also important. The GH7 is a hybrid camera. The Sony is a video camera. That's a major difference.
@CameraCombo no its not the gh line is specifically video with the g9ii being the more hybrid
@@harryvlogs7833 GH is more video but very capable for photos. I have shot 1000s of photos on the GH6.
@@imagenatura yes but it's still there main video line for video
I guessed the one on the left was the Sony just based on the fact that you look like you have jaundice in that one.
🤣🤣🤣
@GeekyNerdyTechy I see, you test it and choose by the price. anyway thanks for answering 😁👋🏻
I appreciate proper black from GH7.
Beautiful comparison, very professional!
No mention of the GH7's 32 bit float sound recording?
It’s a great feature but this was more about video performance.
Sony's advantage on lens selection is only going to get bigger.
Are you saying that there's no way to adjust the speed of auto-focus? That's surprising?
I didn't say that at all. The autofocus on the LUMIX is set to default and the Sony is set to +4 on both the speed and sensitivity. You can speed it up, but I wanted to showcase everything in the middle.
Great Cam with reliable Autofocus, only thing that doesnt work is the Zebras 1+2 mode, this is a point that should be fixed in a update
NOPE! It was the GH7 with a $150 lens LMAO 😂
Absolutely unbelievable! There's honestly no reason to buy any other hybrid mirrorless/cine camera besides the GH7 anymore... And to think that this is just the pre-production model demo model is just wild. Imagine how much better it will be with future firmware updates!
That’s the Panasonic Leica f1.4 lens and not the 1.7. It’s a similar price to the Sony 35mm I think
GH7 skin tones are excellent! I shoot Sony so I could instantly tell with the slightly warm yellowish tones 😅
I love GH7.
Dated now…but I preferred the right, which I assumed was the Sony…nope, it was the gh7. It just it looked cleaner and background blur was a bit much, but still preferred it to the left which I also thought looked fine btw.
I agree. The GH7 looks better to my eye as well and it's a way better handheld camera.
I know that the gh7 is the better camera but I already have apsc lenses and I can get a used fx30 for $1600, the choice isn’t easy ;)
Where is Lumix S1H mark 2
Thank you for making this comparison!
Now THATS how you compare. Wow!
Thanks for the kind words!
Let’s compare both camera in low light with normal lenses or lenses in the same price range. How is the noise and dynamic range on ISO 6400?
