Hello Liz. This just blows my mind. We have a 23 year old Montana 5th wheel, and while there have been the normal RV issues, it is 100% solid. I am so glad there is someone like you to stand up to the corporations on behalf of the regular folks just trying to enjoy life. I truly hope that your channel is going to start a compass shift within the industry.

We have a 2021 Grand Design Reflection Travel Trailer 315 RLTS 38" and we have not been on a trouble free trip yet since we owned it. (We bought used in 2022) I can fix just about anything and will continue to replace bad quality parts with much better parts. I'm a retired plumbing contractor. I've replaced slide out motor to dining room, replaced refrigerator circuit board, replaced refrigerator propane solenoid, replaced all the cheap water hoses with real pex piping ended up repiping the whole RV with pex pipe and brass fittings instead of plastic fittings, replaced falling off molding with real wood, replaced dining slide ski, replaced broken outlets with residential outlets, replaced stove thermocouple, floor heater vents came apart and reconnected with screws and aluminum tape, replaced propane leaking at diverter valve with new, cheap bath faucet replaced with new Price Pfister faucet, rebuilt leaking toilet with new parts, fireplace remote not working have not replaced, one of the 2 axles bent going over bad roads in Illinois have not replaced yet, axle has a rating of 5200 lbs for a trailer with a 10,995 GVWR, I will replace with a higher rated axle. Installed wheels under the bedroom slide to keep it from damaging the vinyl flooring. Installed some paneling with real wood paneling stained to match, stabilizers are a joke I use 6 ton jacks to stabilize the RV. As time goes on this RV will be well built. Good thing I can do all the repairs otherwise I would not be RVing.

I appreciate the fact that you're able to replace, fix or upgrade items in your RV yourself. Although I'm not as handy as you are but my problem is I have no place to work on my RV accept when I'm at a RV park. I live in a 55+ gated community with a HOA that only allows 48 hours to load or unload. That time window only gives me time to load all or stuff and not much time for anything else. I can get all the safety checks done but not much in maintenance to upgrades. I'm jealous of the people that live in rural American on large lots that can keep their RV in storage plugged in next to their house fully loaded and ready to go. Every time we go somewhere it's like moving into a small apartment.

I think the folks Liz has helped get a buyback should 'donate' 1-3% of the amount to Liz to help keep this TH-cam channel going. Liz is acting as their advocate and, let's face it, without her those owners would never have gotten a buyback. Never. Ever. Nada. Zilch. They would've been screwed with a capital S, right in the @ss. Ouch! You & I both know that. What if that was your POS motorhome/trailer? What's that worth to you? These videos are more than just informative, they are a lifeline to those who need help. How much would these folks pay for an attorney to settle their case? Cha Ching! 1-3% is a bargain in my eyes, and in my wallet. Liz's hard work is worth every friggin' dollar. Folks just need to do the right thing and give her some support to keep this channel going.

Nothing should leave the factory without everything being honesty signed off. Manufacturers should reward their workers for units not coming back to the factory and give more training and discipline when units are returned because of poor QC. When workers are charged back for poor quality, maybe quality will be more consistent.

We have a 2024 Entegra coach 37M and our water heater was not supported and fell out as well, Jayco did cover the issue but didn't except that it was installed correctly. We also have had the cab area water leak and compartment doors will not open when the levelers are down, and our driver side leveler went out the first trip. We love our coach and so far none of the issues have stopped us from using the coach. We now have a stress crack in the body. We have been fortunate that Jayco and our customer service person is great to work with (Phylicia) have been acknowledging the issues and have agreed to take it back to the factory to fix them. As for now, we our grateful and look forward to Jayco fixing the problems. We have owed many RV's of different brands and the issues happen with all of them, it's how they take care of you after the sale is what matter's. It was nice to hear your dealer stood up for these people, we on the other hand haven't had that.

Great resolution, Liz, you are certainly providing invaluable assistance to RVers by holding manufacturers' feet to the fire! Maybe what these RV manufacturers need to do is hire independent, third-party inspectors to review their work before the units ever leave the factory! Too many of these problems are potentially life-threatening issues, such as incorrectly installed hot water heaters, propane gas lines, missing major components, these are flat out inexcusable, disastrously poorly done examples! Who the heck ever passed these problems as "acceptable"?! They really show that manufacturers don't care about their customers! Credit to NIRVC, though, for standing with the customer!

Liz, you do a great job. Nothing is going to change the greed, and the dealerships know that they sell junk. They don't care about customers, and they will just sell this junk and build another one. Problems we don't care. Thanks to you Liz I lost interest in ownership of any RV all junk. My suggestion to all new potential buyers is don't do it. Do not flush your $$$ down the toilet. Find a new hobby to enjoy your life, not add stress to it. Buy a Harley Davison buy a Honda Gold-Wing Touring and enjoy life. Check out the three-wheel Can-Am amazing. Plus, they get over 40 MPG'S and life is great without the pile of crap that cost $500,000 or more or less that you know is going to fall apart and break down and not be built properly. All brands of RVs no matter what they say, are junk no such thing as a high quality RV they are all pieces of garbage. And they were all break down and they will all have problems even if they did the job, correct not worth the stress.

I am so happy that in New Zealand we have the consumer guaranty Act. means a product should not break within the time it was designed for. so tat goes what over the warranty. If it breaks down the seller needs to fix it or replace it. If replaced the warranty and the Act start again from new. For my motorhome it means all wall are replaced 8 years after the purchase as the foam did not cure correctly. Took 2x 4 months but did not cost me a cent.

Same for us, First we upgraded to a dually 3500 truck from a F250.
We also only buy G-rated tires for our 5ver. Our 13 year old Cyclone has many up grades as well, new frig, new roof, new marine upholstery. the water pump was replaced after 11 years, but it was not broken. We also fixed our furnace. If you research it, there are only 3 parts if you replace them, the heater will work.
Upgraded to disc brakes(traveled to a certified tech's home to have, all work performed in less than a day. He made a little mini RV campground on his property for his customers. We got to stay the weekend with full hookups.
RV dealers said they couldn't do the work, or we have one person who stalled one. New leaf springs and shackles(they were not broken)
We even did a toy hauler extension, and added 2 feet to the garage, now our toy hauler is 27 feet. It fits our new 2 seater Can-am with full front and rear bumpers. Off course we took out the heavy bunk beds, to fit our total garage weight limit.
We are so happy with our 5Ver, and the price tag was only 52K out the door. We actually got 20K off the price, with great negotiations. People don't realize you can go to the manufacture/RV dealers in Indiana, and buy the model you want way cheaper.

Whoever was involved in the decision to send units out like that needs to lose their job. Not only a potential danger to the public, their reckless decision making presents a serious liability to the company!

Just tour the factory and you will see young people working as fast as their drugs will allow them. Even the RV industry has tapped into the hight schools begging them to come work with them. Most employees only stay long enough to switch company a month later for a job across the street that pays 60 cents more an hour. Who knows how long Bob was installing something wrong before someone catches the problem, you think they go back to correct something that's already been shipped out. The dealers receive RV's with problems from transportation. The dealer and factory argue back and forwards who is the blame. Dealer will not pay money out if their pocket to fix something they believe the factory was responsible for. The dealer has to wait for the customer to to find the problem so it can be easily fixed under warranty. The whole RV industry needs to be fix by having qualified inspectors that follow a federal law like the auto industry. But that hasn't happened yet. It would put all the small RV factory's out of business. RV industry spends millions on fighting and lobbying for no regulations.

For me, I love the travel/camping lifestyle and will continue as long as possible ( 38 years experience at this)
I am so glad Jayco stepped up for these folks. I think the manufacturers are starting to realize social media channels like yours are exposing industry problems.

Amazing! Such nice people and how amazingly patient they were when a manufacturer points the finger back at the consumer for a new product in most cases. It’s the product why most? Well, there’s always the didn’t follow the instructions so it failed.
So as a EE this gentleman knew his stuff they have been incredibly forgiving of so much
Your help so wonderful to hear how one woman, one person with bulldog, determination, and laser. Focus is able to help so many in a very interesting securities way you’ve helped restore my optimism in man one person helping another. I’m so glad that you’re here and that you’ve been able to help one other person times many! The way you set up your stories is terrific hearing directly from the consumer and what they’ve done and the efforts they put in overall from story a story people that you’ve highlighted have put in way more effort than expected and have been so much more patient than many of us would be I’m wondering, Lyz, your thoughts on how to upscale the work that you do? It’s incredible and incredibly rewarding the end stage you get with these manufacturers, but this is barely a drop in the bucket of people that have been injured metaphorically and perhaps sometimes physically by their NEW motorhomes.
What are your thoughts on how to help more people who’s just spent their hard earned $$ on expensive RVs? This takes nothing away from the hard work you’ve done. This is merely a question of OK. You have a model here that has seemed to have been actually not seemed has been effective actually has been effective in getting work by consensus we would say is a appropriate resolution for these customers . So how can this model of consumer purchasing RVs that are defective be able to resolved for more people your thoughts?
My confusion is centered around. Why do they feel they need to purchase a new RV? The house always has the advantage buying an RV is a gamble!
I would certainly recommend these good people look at spending a weekend or a number of days checking out used RVs from a private party.
My understanding is that from around 2019 or 2020 until present. The industry has not been putting out solid, dependable, motorhomes, and travel trailers largely because of a shortage of workers. The problems that you have been describing our endemic of the industry and by enlarge when you’re spending under $1 million or under 1,000,000 1/2 you’re looking at factories that have the same problem and management that looks to the bottom line in quantity of vehicles versus the top end motorhome manufacturers That charge top rate building significant profit that allow them to spend time with each vehicle enough time and check appropriately. When Jayco took their vehicle back to the factory and they didn’t notice a water heater that wasn’t secured what stupidity, or what laziness they have why would you not Check from front bumper to rear bumper on a vehicle that is coming in on a problem with other documented problems why would Jay Cole not spend time? Why would they not spend the time testing everything to ensure they do not see this vehicle again and the customer applaud them for doing an amazing job of taking care of an issue?
Do they, or do other customers think that Jayco or any manufacturer having had this vehicle in for repair of serious issues from the first few days of purchase and they didn’t even take the time for themselves at least not even for the customer, but for themselves to ensure that This vehicle does not come back to the shop because they have gone through it with a fine tooth comb! Why would these folks or anyone trust this manufacture when they had a chance to resolve the issue and pick up other problems that were there obvious and not fix themWhy would you not trust them with a new vehicle purchase?

I know it sounds good to say quality control but most people have no idea how a quality system works. I worked for an industry leading company and whenever something seemed to go wrong everyone would demand that people double and triple check each others work, that's not how quality works. You must determine the root cause of the problem and fix it. In these RV cases I'd bet the systemic problem is the company leadership. They are cutting corners and gambling that people will accept the problems.

Thanks for all of what you do, Liz. A lot of what we're seeing is the focus on bottom-line versus quality. Thor has single-handedly ruined the RV industry with these financial take-overs which changes the focus about the products being put out, even companies like Tiffin. By definition, an RV, particularly motorized, is the melding of a motorized drive system with a home system which is then subject to stresses to both systems going over the road. Quality is paramount considering the complexity of the systems involved, but we're not getting it. You can't cut corners on quality in materials or workmanship. Thor is charge and wants to cut costs to the bone. It shows.

This story had a happy ending! But Liz, how would an inspection found any of the issues? Nothing broke until a week or so on the road and the frame issue would take days, weeks or months to begin to weaken and show structural signs. The electrical issues would not show up on an ohm meter until it shorted, the generator would not of seemed crooked until it had some road miles bunching it. The slide-out was working fine at first, how would an inspector known the hot-water heater was not attached? Would the inspector wiggled it to see if it moves? So an inspection would only be good if ALL the issues were already obvious. The inspector would have done a visual inspection, turn lights on and off, turn water faucets on and off, pulled slide in and out, turn stove on and off, put stabilizers down and up, turn A/C on and checked w/ meter to see if temp range was good, turned generator on and off, etc. and would have given a green light and handed the owners an invoice stating all is good.

Too many issues are hid from sight. Nobody wants to take ownership. I truly believe this is the future of most if not all RV’s from travel trailers to motorhomes A, B, C, Super C etc. its not going to change for the better, I see it in all industries especially when you have one or two huge corporations owning all the brands. They only want to see the profit and bonuses and be gone as the CEO with a retirement package in the millions!

@@brianne1547 I hope more people start doing that. Pain to even find a campsite last minute. Everything is usually booked and the prices per night at most the campgrounds we've stayed at in the past are now just rediculous.

Liz you are incredible! The advocacy iyou undertake for these good people is truly selfless and effective. If there is an award in this industry for someone who makes a difference you deserv it.

I think there should be more laws governing the rv industry. After all they are being driven on the same highways as the auto industry. They need to be safe. Also if the auto industry has a problem they recall and fix the issues.

The RV industry needs to follow the marine industry. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) inspects manufacturing plants and there is a strict construction code that must be followed. The USCG does not want loss of life due to an onboard fire or sinking. But in the RV world you can drive/tow a 20-30,000 pound RV down the freeway that has a bent frame/axles and is falling apart and no federal agency is taking responsibility for this. NHTSA should be doing this.

No quanities of life loss us occurring. That's why there's no involvement. Plus it is considered a pleasure/ luxury vehicle, not a necessity. They'd rather stay out of it.

So what is a yacht then, Itsa? A necessity?
I believe that the feds should regulate this industry, and just like with Liz, we should band together and tell the feds to get in this sector of manufacturing. Lives might've not been lost yet but, why not be proactive. I think, on the general we are ppl of age, approaching or already retired. The money we have is invested to enjoy RVing to enjoy the sunset of our lives. Living it's not easy, working is not easy, raising children had its moments, budgeting to save money was not easy either, same with dealing with sicknesses and doctors and hospital bills. So after all this, y'all decide to buy an RV to take it easy-ish.
Now y'all bought a Lemon, .. from a lemon orchard industry!
Is not the sacrifices y'all made to get to the sour realization that your fruit it's rotten?
Something DIED here. Your lifelong hopes & dreams were KILLED by an unscrupulous unregulated industry.
No consequences is not right. Liz Amazigly is accomplishing so much. She's just one (amazing) lady. What if she stopped doing what she's doing. Up the creek without a paddle picture comes to mind? What if we were, together, actively requesting federal oversight. jus-saying..
