They were both clumsy and incompetent and have clearly not had any training in how to de-escalate a situation to prevent it from turning toxic. After subjecting the woman to a lengthy search, interrogation and invasive body scan, I assume the team leader came and apologised to her for the inconvenience and embarrassment they had caused her? Her increasing rage was totally understandable and justified. It looked like a return to the bad old days when we all felt like criminals under suspicion when coming through the arrivals hall.

They showed far better tolerance than I would have to this thing called a lady. They were doing their job, and anyone that doesn't understand what that is needs a big educational lesson to help protect our country. It isn't OK until it's verified as OK. Their reaction to this KAREN's vitriol is understandable and it wasn't Border Force that escalated the situation.

    • @janinacooper4199

      @@shirleyjenkins11 this is true.
I have been pulled at Heathrow for special screening as well, from the waiting area at the gate, alongside with a few other people.
They took our passports away, which was the scariest thing to me.
And led us into a secluded waiting room, where we were left for quite some time.
Once they returned, they separated us, we had to unpack our whole hand luggage, got swiped for drugs or explosives I guess and got questioned petty firmly.
We also got patted down again.
It was extremely uncomfortable because the TSA or security doing this were extremely rude and were treating us like we did something wrong.
Everybody was very cooperative, but that didn’t change the behavior of the people in charge.
This all took a very long time and we almost missed our flights.
By the time they returned our passports and escorted us onto the plane, everybody on board was already seated and gave us the stink eye, because we had delayed the plane.
I suffer from strong anxiety anyway, but traveling always takes me to my limits.
My husband and I live in the US and my family lives in Europe, so I have to travel in order to see them.
This really worsened my issues with traveling, because I know that even though I do nothing wrong and cooperate fully, there is always a chance to get into scary situations like this.
Thankfully it’s not always like this.

First, raging like that never helps your cause.
Second, we are only seeing a small portion of the overall interaction. She claimed to have been detained for 3 hours. Perhaps some of her reaction was justified?
Lastly, did you catch her saying that she just wanted to go and have a cigarette? After a long flight from Argentina to Australia…and then several hours in customs…her agitation was elevated from nicotine deprivation.
So much more to her story than was represented in this video.

Entitled Border authorities begin treating everyone as a drug suspect at the airport…when they forget that at the end of the day that only applies to a sml percentage of people
..then 2nd “dignity for the travelling public” who do ..do the right thing is being forgotten and instead everyone is being treated as guilty at the airport and proved innocent at the airport as a last resort is just paranoia.
It’s very unfair on all people in the first place.
They need to treat people as innocent at the airport first until they are proven guilty right?
Second they need to have some intelligence on the fact that most people do the right thing so paranoia and this unfair treatment and harassment of people should be addressed. And why do I think that this comment will be deleted hmmm😅
