Gamers don't ask for much. We only ask for fun in games.
Ngl I think they want it as well 🤣
The fact they took away the New game plus for money is amazing. THey listen to the players.
this when dev said "bro we should add something" and they never stop adding.
Bro just one more, bro just one more
😂 let em cook
They really love being game devs
they say "we should add this"
but they never say "we should remove this"
I'm 95% sure that this game in the video will be boring after 4 hours of gameplay. You all thing that every game Asmon shows is somehow great but this looks like another generic game from Asia that just doesn't even look good. Yakuza and pirate? What a joke. Most people who like sea battles like me, they won't really play this because of stuff like laser canon on Pirate ship or other over too much stuff.
Someone tell baldy that Yakuza 8 had Pokemon with homeless people.
Edit: For those of you confused, the previous game, Yakuza 8 (Infinite Wealth), had a mini game where you could catch random people on the street/homeless people and make them fight others. There was a whole pokemon style gym battles storyline. The name of the minigame was Sujimon. Super fun.
And a full Animal Crossing clone with a literal trash island in the SAME game.
I want that.
Bumfights: The Game
Them yakuza mini games was no joke. Cabaret clubs in 0 and Kiwani were my favorite. I put so many hrs leveling up and getting all trophies attached to them and eventually both games
That is absolutely wild
Its crazy the transformation of the Yakuza series from "cool but slightly smaller-budget series" to "we have so much money now we can basically do anything we want to"
It went from a niche game loved by a hardcore fanbase to Sega's flagship series... which is still loved by a hardcore fanbase. It's one of those series that has an amazing fandom, like Monster Hunter. Totally deserved, this series always fires on all cylinders. I'd say the weakest entries in the series are 3 and 6, and they're still FUCKING LEAGUES above any other franchise in terms of just sheer fun and value for your money.
It's one game from going Saints Row.
Is almost as if allowing a swries to grow orhanicakly is a recipe for success
@@DVAcmefunny enough, 6 was my introduction into the series. Saw it at a GameStop right before Covid hit for like 12 bucks. I’ve been a huge fan ever since… I agree 6 and 3 are the worst… but never was I like “damn this kinda sucks” and just how every game has an insane plot twist
They went from action-beat em up then literally switched to a different genre.
What's even funnier is that this game probably has a smaller budget yet is looking better than whatever Ubisoft did.
100% has a much smaller budget. RGG's entire gameplan is reusing as many assets as efficiently and creatively as possible, so it's not unreasonable to assume that less than half of the content in this game is actually brand new
They also did this in maybe 4 years max at best
They come out with like, at least one game every year or so, on average. Maybe a bit longer. Reuse every asset they can find an excuse to reuse (especially the minigames).
Somehow it still ends up amazing each time.
@@natchu96 Cause they reuse assets, but NOT gameplay, they're always coming up with hilarious and fun new twists to old ideas. It's like buying tons of GI Joes as a kid, but instead of using them all the time as GI Joe and Cobra, you start giving them new names and making up new things for them to do.
@@Steve-uw8ff Reusing assets is the best practice, that cuts the development time and cost, and make the games of the company consistent without difficulty.

Yakuza is that franchise where one minute you're working at a caberet where guys pay to hang out with hot chicks, then you could be doing a side quest for a child who wants a crane game toy, and then you could be outdoing a bunch of kids at pocket circuit racing.
This is all in one game btw, and I haven't even mentioned the chicken you unlock from a bowling side quest that can help you finance real estate!!

Yakuza is the series where you can become the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company, yet live in the spare room of a whorehouse. It's THE BEST THING EVER.

If anybody wondering, yes that is Hawaii. They are literally showing Waikiki, Ala Moana, and Chinatown. I'm so surprised how close they recreated it while avoiding copyright issues. Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Ala Moana Mall and River st/Chinatown.
I haven't played Infinite Wealth yet, I didn't know they went that true-to-life with the setting that's dope.
Though, honestly, it shouldn't surprise me, considering how accurate Kabuki-cho and Osaka already were. We're talking about guys who are masters at their craft at this point. They're to open-world brawlers what FromSoft are to action RPGs.
Meanwhile Ubisoft can't even recreate feudal Japan correctly.
The Yakuza series is always a blast to play through. Highly recommend it

This game looks like if someone took all those "Florida man" and "only in Ohio" memes and turned those into a game. Absolute cinema
I think gamers have pretty much had their fill of "realistic games and realism" in video games. They just want games to be games again. Realistic games are fine but when every other game is going for realism, it becomes stale and predictable, and as of late, companies haven't even been getting the realism part correct either. They just want games to be fun
This, ffs! I play games to escape reality, not to emulate it. Could not have said it better.

Everybody is so focused on making a cinematic masterpiece (and don't get me wrong, I do love those) but so many studios have forgotten about the roots of gaming. Wacky wild adventure games that make no sense but are insanely fun to play!
yakuza games main story are absolutely cinema as well
This game look trash ASF what are you people 12?😂 Assassin creed black flag was the last good pirate game ever made everything else looks like bullshit
@@Zan-vk6gb comparing this to something like black flag is just a bulshit disingenuous comparison. It would be more accurate to compare it to something along the lines of sea of thieves. It is obviously a very different style of game. And that's the whole point I made. So many studios have completely forgotten the arcadia, goofy, action-filled nonsense kind of games that so many of us grew up on back in the early 2000s. So yes, it does look like a fun game to me. It is a very different kind of experience do something like Black flag.

This is probably the best middle finger Sega can give to other AAA companies with an over the top game. It reminds me a bit of Saints Row 3 and 4 with the overpowered skills.
I fucking love watching franchises that have been laying in the cut for years suddenly burst out of the water and eat lazy AAA developers lunch.
That's Yakuza in a nutshell
Fast and the Furious syndrome
It's funny how the Yakuza franchise looks really silly if you look at the trailers. But it also legit has a serious and emotional story at the same time. They strike the perfect balance.
Draw people in with wacky antics and make them stay for peak storytelling.
Like my first exposure to the franchise was Kiryu singing karaoke and Majima roller skate dancing while singing with backup dancers that are in roller skates too, so I was like "surely this is a lighthearted game", and boy was I wrong. This is the real reason Ubisoft delayed AC shadows to March.
DUDE. THAT MIGHT NOT BE AS MUCH OF A JOKE AS YOU INTENDED. This game will inevitably draw discourse about how it compares to Skull And Bones (and by extension, Black Flag), and that's only gonna make Ubisoft once again look like shit. Funny that he mentions everything looks like a mod.
Yakuza is effectively the devs grabbing everything they've done before and stitching it all back together. Anything and Everything is on the table. You could see things from 4 games ago or a deep cut from the beggining.
Truly a resourceful devi studio
Yakuza is phenomenal, you can go from a really intense cutscene of someone dying to singing karaoke and gambling.
As to how they're doing it, this studio is the master of reusing assets. Yakuza 0 is considered by many(maybe most) to be the best game in the whole series, and it's basically an asset Frankenstein's Monster of like 3 other games.
When they kept milking their franchise, but the milk is good:
i mean, like i think now there is two yakuzas the turn based rpg and the beat em all rpg
They also released game multiple every year like ubislop but like they are better at making games
There was no way RGG was going to create the Hawaii map unless they could squeeze at least two or three games out of it. That's not how they roll.
Western studios might be better at innovation, but Japanese corporates are better managing iteration. Don’t even need to look far, Elden Ring is the shining example of making good use of old assets and ideas.
Someone once explained that it’s very simple, Japanese corporate try to retain creative managers, who gave good grasp on their organisation and situation, who make good use of old assets their team created in the past rather than circling through middle managers who have no idea what they made, and waste time making new stuffs rather than reusing good old stuffs.
The effect on staff morale is profound too. If you are told your old works are going to be thrown out after the game release, you would work very different compare to if the assets you made 5 years ago are going to be feature on the box art.
