Amazing video as always Tails and idk if its just me but the quality of these recent videos has gone way up (not that the others are not also amazing)! That puppy analogy was a funny yet amazing way to say what part on Barioth to attack😂 I was laughing so hard with the music change from happy and sweet to a sinister monster theme when you started talking about the puppy ripping the ball apart to transition it to you ripping Barioths legs to shreds😂

Or maybe Furious Rajang though I know you try to avoid Rajang like the plague if your 100 monster guiding quest vids are anything to go by lol
Finally decided to try mushroomancer and used your tips from this video and holy cow was he so much easier. Can't believe I failed this quest 10 times my first playthrough, then this time did it first try. Thanks for the tip!
I thought until I tried it cause I was struggling to fight barrioth and saw one of tails 100 hours where he uses mushroomancer and so I used it and haven’t looked back.
Barioth is GU is my favorite regular hunt in that game. When going through G rank I crafted the entire armor set and never really ended up using it. The fight is just that fun.
I learned to fight Barioth in tri, and while it didn't have banbaro armor, it had lance, and its shield helped me survive long enough to actually get a good look at its moveset and get a feel for its tells.
I honestly love Barioth after getting over the difficulty spike. If you play smart and break one of his claws quickly, the fight just becomes SO MUCH EASIER.
I don't remember how I beat this guy. I remember I was having a lot of problems at the beginning of IB, even the Beotodus gave me a lot of problems. I probably used an SoS flare and got other people to help me against it lmao. But one thing that helped me a lot to get through a lot of difficult fights in this game, specially at the beginning, is to use the insect glaive. It's not so easy to use against smaller monsters or the end game monsters, but it's pretty easy to use against large monsters and monsters that move a lot like Barioth. Just vault into the air and spam the forward attack or the "pogo stick" accordingly with the red and orange extracts.
How to kill nimble monsters a. fight them enough to learn the moveset. b. sticky bowgun c. SHROOMS Im doing a fresh playthrough right now. might have to give the 'ole banbaro armor a try once i get into MR Great vid as always tails!!! :)
Good tips haha 😅 you're gonna love the Banbaro armor. I literally use the armor all the way through Velkhana. It has great Ice Resist and Mushroomancer keeps you healthy. Good luck on your run!

I almost beat him in full high rank Nergigante gear, but at the time I didn't realize that and I took that to mean I finally needed to upgrade my gear.

I never felt overly oppressed by Barioth, but I watched this whole video anyways to show support lol Well-put-together and informative. Hope lots of people get helped by this ^.^
Not a bad build especially the ONE point of Partbreaker.Breaking Barioth's claws allows you to trip it more often if you keep attacking the broken claw plus helps exhaust it more easily (although Hammers and Hunting Horn manage this easy).
If this isn't enough or you are just truly bad at the Barioth hunt, just use Lance. I recommend a Fire Lance. If you can get Guard +1/+2 (any level) even better, but not necessary. Hold your guard and poke, Counter when ever Barioth goes for the hip check, break it's Wings/Spikes/Claws. This turtle strategy isn't the fastest (depending on skill), but it is the safest. I've been using this method since 3U and it has literally never failed. Good Luck hunters.
excellent tutorial. clear, good idea to let your strats do the talking by not using S tier equipment on you and punchy. Loving the IG 100hr challenge, have you found out about the Kinsect Drill technique yet ?
Thanks for the kind words, friend. I feel like a lot of guides out there are with gear and stats that are too good for the average player at that point in the game. And my goal with this was to show the techniques used to best Barioth, not the armor skills and crazy weapons to get (or even unable to get in some cases haha) So glad you're enjoying! The IG is pretty cool haha. Yes I think I've done the Kinsect Drill. I'll have to double check tho haha

@@GiddyFoxGaming On my last attempt I managed to snag both horns before he killed me so at least I got myself a mantle piece to put on my wall. Even with tackle it feels like he chains his attacks so fast and there's not much room for punishing him, I'm gonna try going for a different weapon and see if that works better. I've been using defenders set and it's almost fully upgraded but maybe I should try some status effects like sleep so I can get him to sit still.
Funny enough: I was a GS only player when I first faced Barioth and my first MR armor in Iceborne was... Barioth. Because it was so easy for me and a really fun fight. Really don't get why people find it annoying

Honestly, great video, love the shroom propaganda as per usual. Only thing I'm annoyed about is the fact that this didn't come out a couple months ago when I fought this damned thing lol
I think the real problem for most of the players that struggle with barioth is that they rush the Main quest which leaves them with basic MR gear, they went from 1star to 3 Star quest without checking the optional quest that unlocks most of the base game monsters MR versions with MR gear upgrades that Will help to fight barioth and the next main quest monsters on 3-5 stars
I hate this monster so much. This was the first wall in world, actually, the only one I ran into 😂 this is the only monster in the game I still haven't beaten solo (except Alatreon and Fatalism)

There is not a point of Partbreaker on the build I showed in the video. But Partbreaker would be a great deco to slot into the build :D
