I agree with JOSHUA with the HTC. I listen to music/watch videos more than take pictures and videos so with that being said the HTC is better around phone.
You can't get the B&O DAC for the G5 in the US first off. HTC uses its own 24BIT DAC or QUALCOMM. The SAMSUNG uses a normal 16BIT DAC like every other smartphone. Nothing special about the SAMSUNG ESP the EXYNOS version.
It is funny because the lg g5 won the photo shoot out that android authority held over on their website. And two of them picked the S7 because it has the best camera. So I don't understand. If the community says G5 takes better photos then why do they say it is all about the S7?
+Nuiofrd I think you've got to love the S7's auto focus system. Apart from that, though... The LG preserving less detail in darker areas is just plain false. In fact, the somewhat exaggerated contrasts which make the S7's pictures so pleasant to look like at first glance and on that amoled screen really work against the preservation of detail in actual high contrast situations. The S7 can also be a bit extreme as far as over sharpening and color saturation goes. Well, obviously people like that style and I can see why - but the G5 produces better pictures in a photographic sense.
The girl who used the Galaxy S7 said she never used the HTC 10...how is that going to help me make an "educated" choice when a reviewer doesn't even try one of the three major products?
Yeah I had ordered a case from amazon for the phone about a month ago. As far as getting a case that came in box with the phone... No 😐😐 How is it working out for you? I'm gonna use this as my daily driver for a week and decide whether or not to RIP the Galaxy 7 Edge. Lol
Matthew Moscotto I'm keeping it home until a case and screen protector arrives lol. Personally for the long run the HTC 10 will last WAY longer than any galaxy especially with software and hardware support considering if you break that phone HTC replaces it for free
Phillip Morales Yeah Samsung gets laggy after updates so I know this 7 Edge is a disposable product. Lmao. Wish I could put the Galaxy camera on the HTC phone and call it a win win. Did you get the software update for the HTC 10 yet? It's supposed to fully optimize the camera and make it much better.
MrAmir HTC UK have been playing with my emotions order status still showing as "boxed shipment". i returned my 6p on april 12th minutes after the 10 was announced & preodered this bad boy seconds later
was this done before the camera updates for HTC 10 or after the updates, cause after the camera updates HTC 10 takes some astonishingly gorgeous pictures.
All these phones have different strong and weak points, but the G5 checks most of the boxes for what I want in a smartphone. Plus it's the only 2016 flagship, other than the Huawei P9 Plus, to have an IR Blaster.
I think people don't talk about the uh oh protection and the timely updates of HTC enough. I think both are very valuable post sale services. HTC typically continues to update the phone to not only keep up with newest android version but also to optimize performance of the phone. I hope I won't need to use the Uh oh protection, but after shattering a screen before, it's always nice to have the assurance that I won't have to pay the hefty repair price in case something happens.
I'm a bit confused. I saw a bunch of camera comparison (even Krystal's camera comparison of the G5, 6s and S7 on her channel) that says the G5 is better overall, yet the 3 of you are unanimous in favor of the S7.
Why is it that the add plays in HD quality perfectly, no stuttering or buffering whatsoever, and the video needs a few minutes to load a few seconds (no matter the quality)?
From a standpoint that isn't strictly comparing feel from one phone to the next, I personally like the feel of the G5. Its slick and super smooth. It really shouldn't be a problem that it doesn't "feel premium." its still a solid phone that's not too thin where it feels like you'll break it like an iPhone but overall it's just a perfectly fine phone. What keeps me going back to lg is the removable battery. Going 0-100 within a minute is just the best feeling. Everyone hates that feeling when their phone is dying and they have to plug in, well, not with the G5.
@Android Authority, I love your team's content and hard work making these videos. Slight suggestion though. Balance out the audio for your videos, especially in a video that has audio coming from different people with their own sound input settings. Resulting in a level listening experience.
Coming from HTC M7 to the Samsung S7 is an adjustment. Both good and bad. And..... the Samsung has a cracked screen from a less than a foot drop from a chair. The sound and audio is my only problem and like I stated earlier it will take some time to get used go it.
HTC 10 has an excellent camera.......check dxo basemark ratings for mobile camera and htc 10 ties with gs7 edge with 88 points.......and overall it is an excellent phone.......i have been using m9 ......HTC is best android experience i have used.....best and smoother sense UI.....
i've always been an HTC fan and the HTC 10 is an excellent phone. But the design while great has gotten quite repetitive since the HTC one m7. Although I'm not the biggest fan of touchwiz, waterproof, wireless charging, and most reliable camera has me leaning towards the S7/S7 edge this year
can you please do another compassion with the HTC system software of 1.91 for photos they have done enhancements to the camera. I want to know how it does now. please
FYI just got am OTA update that gives you the option to have the app drawer back by selecting "home and app drawer" as you launcher. The S7 Edge is a great phone. I went with the G5 for a couple of reasons: 1. I found the S7 I but to small (accustomed to large phones) and didn't like the look and feel of the S7 Edge. 2. The removable battery of the G5 was speaking, especially as there was a promo for a fee battery and charging cradle (almost like having a 5,800mAh battery). 3. I wanted to try something other than Samsung. All my Android phones have been Sammy's going back to the original Galaxy S (the Note 6 may be calling my name though, we'll see). having said that, the S7/S7 Edge is probably the better option for most people.
Where I live htc 10 is only 45 dollar cheaper than the s7. G5 is the cheapest, 120 dollar cheaper than the HTC. Concidering this which is phone should I buy?
i think u missed the trick about the camera update which htc brought later and there are some videos out there suggesting that it have addressed the saturation and sharpness issues.
They really should have kept the two speakers on the front at all costs. It was the trademark feature and the best sound I've ever heard on a phone. :(
if the G5 had the battery capacity of the S7 edge I would have kept it over the S7 especially for the camera's which are an awesome duo. I was getting just a few mins over 4 hours of SOT on my G5 in the week I had it. I ended up taking it back to VZW for the S7 edge after reading so many reviews of the SOT and over all battery life. I'm now getting 5.5 -7 of SOT depending on what im using it for. I can go from 630am to 10:30pm and still be at about 25% give or take.
Could you guys please do a updated htc 10 camera article after applying the new major update that has been rolled out, multiple articles online claim that its made the htc 10 cam performance a lot better , it would be nice to know your opinion
+Cakefish I initailly just wanted to know what exactly are the increments quality wise with the new update but your idea of an updated comparison seems much better
+Mayuresh Pednekar I know that the S7 has recently had an update that reduces yellow tint in low light shots. I'm sure all these phones will have more updates to the camera performance in the near future so another comparison in a couple months would be good to see! :)
I would like to point out that LG G5 will actually displace HTC 10's rank in audio performance if the audio DAC accessory was added, which has a 32bit DAC vs 24bit and a higher watt rating for its speakers
Not bad for your first try ,but it was kind of rough around the edges. I can't pinpoint what it was that annoyed me but I think the person who was explaining the Samsung handset kind of wasn't as calm and collected as she could have been which is weird considering that this hasn't happened in the rest of her reviews. But a very nice change from the old format. I hope to see more reviews this way.
I've had the Note 5 since it was released, and Touch Wiz didn't lag not even once. Also, the amoled screen is ages ahead of the LCDs. Now with the water proofing and that auto-focus, Samsung is the clear winner for me, even though the wide lens on the G5 is tempting. If only the S7 had the BoomSound front speakers, it would really be the perfect smartphone. PS i used to only buy HTC before the Note 5
HTC 10 all the way. No boring glass-design or subpar software as the S7 offers. There has been a few revent camera updates for the 10, which seems to have improved image sharpness, saturation, HDR, laser autofocus and lowlight shooting quite a lot. Just a great allrounder!
I have the s7 edge and love it however all these phones in this comparison brought some really great features to the table for an all around values I still give it to the s7edge with the HTC the audio is still second to none especially with headphones in the 3.5mm interface however the audio quality in videos and Bluetooth are really good in the s7 to which wasn't said here and lastly lg brought modularity and dual cameras to the table which is awesome I can't wait till Google releases project ara that'll be cool but till then I picked up a lg 360 cam to get those super wide angles with my s7 sure I could have waited for the Samsung gear 360 but at half the price and 2k recording lg got my business there good luck people alot of good options this year
I had a few occasions to compare different manufacturers over past few years, obviously only randomly, but it mostly made me favor htc models. It was a pain to see m10 no longer has double, loud speakers in the front, but I shall shout it for everyone >SPEAKERS SHOULD BE IN FRONT or generally that direction, because noone puts their phone screen-down and speaker on the bottom totally kills everything you could think of using your phone for, even talking on loudspeaker. I do regret only option for screen is led or samsung-only amoled, because that could improve battery life while maintaining good quality if it's a subject of competition. And while I'm a htc fan at this point, I really want to point out that it's htc device that got most screentime (and samsung reviewer seems really amateur and whatnot "take those headphones off")
I use my phone more for consuming media, so for me its important a phone has quality audio, a top specs screen also the optical image stabilisation in the front camera is excellent in this day and age where selfies rule and snapchat is ever so popular.
Ofcourse the HTC 10, the more pure Android feel and most genuine reason is HTC offers quick software updates to it's devices. And the metal unibody... simply stunning for me. Thanks HTC for such a great machine.
All of these phones are great, but I'm not sure which on to get, the HTC 10, the Galaxy S7 Edge, or the LG G5. I'm looking to replace my HTC M8 now. I want a phone with great battery, audio, & camera. Which is the best for that regards? HTC 10- I prefer its software, audio & camera S7 Edge- I prefer its battery life, display, camera, & better accessory availability LG G5- I prefer its removable battery & camera
Which one sounds best out of lg g5 with th B and o amp vs HTC 10? come on guys I can't believe you didn't give this a go and compare th sound. can you do this please and let us know which sounds best?
I'm confused though, Krystal picked the S7 for the camera, but in her own shootout her and her "friend" picked the G5 to win on most shots... I'm very confused...
does the s7 edge lags? cause i hear a lot of people saying that, bad ram management and heavy ui. If its not then it is the best out of the 3 (screen, camera, looks)
Great review, though the quality sucked. Being the owner of an S7 Edge there are a few points I would add. For starters, I really don't think the speaker sounds that bad on it. I use to have a Note Edge and this speaker is far and way better than it was on that phone (and I've never heard any huge complains about the speakers on those.) Additionally, if you set up the fingerprint scanner properly, you DO NOT need to press the home button to get it to work. I've been using the phone for months and have never (HAD) to press the home button to operate it.
Charbell Habchi - Agreed...Looks like another Sammy Fanboy meeting here... Samsung Galaxy S's are like iPhones and assholes - everybody's got one... An HTC may not be pretty, but it will be still be there going strong long after that GS-whatever has winded out from all the BS that's asked of it, and that S-AMOLED sccreen is color burned from too much Candy Crush, GTA, and Angry Birds...That's when the Sammyboys are all hanging out at Electric Axe, screaming about the release date of the next one! HTC owners USE their handsets, not FLAUNT them!
+Jason Gill Well, the official score for image reference, Dxomark doesn't seem to agree with you. S7 actually has a huge issue when focusing on subjects during video recording mode. Good luck with S7 for out of focus videos when you are recording close up subjects (S7 is usually out of focus in this situtation) like when you are making vBlog on food of restaurants or pretty fishes at the aquarium or pretty flowers at the park. If you were doing a lot of video blogging for youtube, HTC 10 is the best option plus high res 24 bit audio recording during the video as well, recorded the best images and sound out of these three phones.
3 phones are great, but those 3 webcams suck :D
ikr
Lol yeah
3 great phones, only 1 has good software (HTC)
they are using macbook ...lolll
What did you expect as most laptops come with a very basic webcam?!
I agree with JOSHUA with the HTC. I listen to music/watch videos more than take pictures and videos so with that being said the HTC is better around phone.
Dido!
I find myself using TH-cam and music a lot so I also agree the 10 is a better rounded phone.
No they do not! Did you even watch the video? *****
You can't get the B&O DAC for the G5 in the US first off. HTC uses its own 24BIT DAC or QUALCOMM. The SAMSUNG uses a normal 16BIT DAC like every other smartphone. Nothing special about the SAMSUNG ESP the EXYNOS version.

preference
+Nuiofrd Its all about the looks ....people dont vote on "whats best as to more how things look"
+James Townsend that's a good example of why racism exists till today...(sry)
HTC's design and audio for me
Great idea very poor execution. This format doesn't work.
I couldn't agree more.
It's the first time they have done this format. Maybe give it a chance before being so critical.
***** Woman hater.
agreed
+pyrosdestiny agreed, this video was terrible
The girl who used the Galaxy S7 said she never used the HTC 10...how is that going to help me make an "educated" choice when a reviewer doesn't even try one of the three major products?
Awesome idea and excellently executed ...
I'll go with Josh ... HTC 10 is the Champ ...
for me HTC 10
LG G5 for me honestly.
if I have to choose 10 times it has to be HTC 10 10 out of 10.
Okay
It sucks
And sales will prove it
+FiveStar No, it doesn't suck and sales prove nothing.
+FiveStar and I have S7 Edge.
My HTC 10 is out for delivery and I can't wait! I also got me some ATH m50's and I am so excited to hear what it can do!!!
Just got mines delivered.
+Matthew Moscotto mine too did you get a case with your phone? Mine hasn't been delivered yet for some reason, I did get my phone though
Yeah I had ordered a case from amazon for the phone about a month ago. As far as getting a case that came in box with the phone... No 😐😐 How is it working out for you? I'm gonna use this as my daily driver for a week and decide whether or not to RIP the Galaxy 7 Edge. Lol

was this originally a live hangout? i'm confused by the multiple camera feeds
HTC 10 best phone in the world
Nope
+Kwetsima Maluleke 😂😂
holy camoly!
Fanboy
L
HTC 10 is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
+Diz When are you getting one? Mine is arriving next week!
MrAmir HTC UK have been playing with my emotions order status still showing as "boxed shipment". i returned my 6p on april 12th minutes after the 10 was announced & preodered this bad boy seconds later
+Diz Great choice.
+sush2142 lol
& no i'm not a htc elevate member
*****
#powerof10
6p, v10 & G5 doesn't even come close
S7 Edge
Beautiful design, I love Touchwiz UI and the camera...
The S7 is agreeably the best phone in this comparison but TouchWiz is the worst out of all of the UIs, it's pretty shitty
I think I am sold on the HTC 10
For audio, why not the LG with the B&O hi fi plus? I'd love to see a comparison with the HTC 10
was this done before the camera updates for HTC 10 or after the updates, cause after the camera updates HTC 10 takes some astonishingly gorgeous pictures.
+Farid Amin No, no, no; the samsung is on point and in my opinion and every one (hopefully) is the best.
+Tony Stark I would still buy HTC 10, Samsung phones don't attract me, I rather buy a nexus 6p than a Samsung s7/edge
All these phones have different strong and weak points, but the G5 checks most of the boxes for what I want in a smartphone. Plus it's the only 2016 flagship, other than the Huawei P9 Plus, to have an IR Blaster.
I like this format guys, very in-depth round-table style, do wish the video was better quality.
anyone know what game Krystal play at 26:28... thank you
I think people don't talk about the uh oh protection and the timely updates of HTC enough. I think both are very valuable post sale services. HTC typically continues to update the phone to not only keep up with newest android version but also to optimize performance of the phone. I hope I won't need to use the Uh oh protection, but after shattering a screen before, it's always nice to have the assurance that I won't have to pay the hefty repair price in case something happens.
getting information of 3 different phones from 3 other ppl gives more input on them in one video which is quite nice .
dosent the LG G5 also have an integrated 24 bit jack?
I'm a bit confused. I saw a bunch of camera comparison (even Krystal's camera comparison of the G5, 6s and S7 on her channel) that says the G5 is better overall, yet the 3 of you are unanimous in favor of the S7.
Why is it that the add plays in HD quality perfectly, no stuttering or buffering whatsoever, and the video needs a few minutes to load a few seconds (no matter the quality)?
From a standpoint that isn't strictly comparing feel from one phone to the next, I personally like the feel of the G5. Its slick and super smooth. What keeps me going back to lg is the removable battery. Going 0-100 within a minute is just the best feeling. Everyone hates that feeling when their phone is dying and they have to plug in, well, not with the G5.
In the camera area...HTC has given a few updates to the software since this test so things have improved...we need a updated HTC 10 camera review
This 3 phones are really Great . But , I think S7 is the best .
same
of course
same
Obvious
Well, I think that the G5 is the best.
This format was fantastic! Love it!
Love the way this was edited! XD Good job
Just got the S7 edge today. Really impressed with it.
@Android Authority, I love your team's content and hard work making these videos. Slight suggestion though. Balance out the audio for your videos, especially in a video that has audio coming from different people with their own sound input settings. Resulting in a level listening experience.
HTC 10 IS BEAUTIFUL
Coming from HTC M7 to the Samsung S7 is an adjustment. Both good and bad. And..... the Samsung has a cracked screen from a less than a foot drop from a chair. The sound and audio is my only problem and like I stated earlier it will take some time to get used go it.
And ofcourse the audio the major phenomena after software updates of the HTC devices.
Another great review format from AA. Good stuff guys. Agree with your perspectives too.
HTC 10 has an excellent camera.......check dxo basemark ratings for mobile camera and htc 10 ties with gs7 edge with 88 points.......and overall it is an excellent phone.......i have been using m9 ......HTC is best android experience i have used.....best and smoother sense UI.....
I'm falling in love with that HTC 10. I have the S6 Edge+ and I'm a huge music nut maybe that is a better phone for me to upgrade to
i've always been an HTC fan and the HTC 10 is an excellent phone. But the design while great has gotten quite repetitive since the HTC one m7. Although I'm not the biggest fan of touchwiz, waterproof, wireless charging, and most reliable camera has me leaning towards the S7/S7 edge this year
EXCELLENT review Android Authority
can you please do another compassion with the HTC system software of 1.91 for photos they have done enhancements to the camera. I want to know how it does now. please
FYI just got am OTA update that gives you the option to have the app drawer back by selecting "home and app drawer" as you launcher.
The S7 Edge is a great phone. I went with the G5 for a couple of reasons:
I like this approach. keep up the good work guys.
LG g5 has a DAC that gives is 32bit audio.gives you why better sound than the HTC is applied
i think u missed the trick about the camera update which htc brought later and there are some videos out there suggesting that it have addressed the saturation and sharpness issues.
I still can't decide which one to get, all three companies hit it out of the park this year
HTC was able to combine dual front-facing speakers with a fingerprint sensor in the HTC One M9+... why didn't they do it on the 10? :-/
They really should have kept the two speakers on the front at all costs. It was the trademark feature and the best sound I've ever heard on a phone. :(
Really good video with a great idea of having one person representing one phone. Wish the Huawei P9 was there too.
Nice idea, I liked the video
There is room for improvement but overall enjoyed this podcast-like comparison and hope to see more of it in the future
were the pictures taken before the HTC 10 updated it's camera app? because after the update the camera on the 10 got way better
if the G5 had the battery capacity of the S7 edge I would have kept it over the S7 especially for the camera's which are an awesome duo.
Does the girl in the video support quick charging ?
+Coliotte Collo i guess it depends on the charger :)
+Tera Baap I liked your username...lol
Could you guys please do a updated htc 10 camera article after applying the new major update that has been rolled out, multiple articles online claim that its made the htc 10 cam performance a lot better , it would be nice to know your opinion
In that case they must ensure they apply the latest updates to the S7 and G5 too to make it a fair comparison.
+Cakefish Yep agreed a comparison vid with all of them updated would be that much better
Was this done before or after HTC sent out their latest camera update?
I would like to point out that LG G5 will actually displace HTC 10's rank in audio performance if the audio DAC accessory was added, which has a 32bit DAC vs 24bit and a higher watt rating for its speakers
U guys are awesome, this channel rocks and I loved the video 🤘
S7 Edge rocks😉
Going with the HTC 10... It's jut different... I don't want a smartphone, I want an accessory that is incorporated into my life.

I like that , new type of comparisons ... Good job 👍🏻
Pretty nice segment and sure it will improve as you go along with it.
And I love the HTC 10!! Saving up for it!! Or cough cough giveaway!!! haha
Really cool video. Loved the different approach that was used. =D
I have the s7 edge and love it however all these phones in this comparison brought some really great features to the table for an all around values I still give it to the s7edge with the HTC the audio is still second to none especially with headphones in the 3.5mm interface however the audio quality in videos and Bluetooth are really good in the s7 to which wasn't said here and lastly lg brought modularity and dual cameras to the table which is awesome I can't wait till Google releases project ara that'll be cool but till then I picked up a lg 360 cam to get those super wide angles with my s7 sure I could have waited for the Samsung gear 360 but at half the price and 2k recording lg got my business there good luck people alot of good options this year
Still getting my Nexus 6P.
what...what.. what webcams you guys were using???
loved the format, keep up @andriodauthority
s7 for me but the htc 10 looks really nice just wish it had an amoled screen
Same is here
G5 or X Performance?Quick Reply please,I need to buy a new phone and don't know what to choose
And while I'm a htc fan at this point, I really want to point out that it's htc device that got most screentime (and samsung reviewer seems really amateur and whatnot "take those headphones off")
HEY I SEEN ON ANOTHER VIDEO WERE THE HTC 10 GOT A UPDATE AN IT MADE THE CAMERA SHOOT WAY BETTER DID THIS HTC THAT YOU THREE SHOWED US HAVE THE UPDATE?
I wanted to know how well the HTC 24 bit DAC compared to the G5's B & O sound module over headphones
Can someone please tell me what's so good about the HTC 10? I've seen people say it's better than the S7 and G5...which I've always disagreed.
I use my phone more for consuming media, so for me its important a phone has quality audio, a top specs screen also the optical image stabilisation in the front camera is excellent in this day and age where selfies rule and snapchat is ever so popular.
where can u get a good tempered glass screen protector for the s7 edge?
Ofcourse the HTC 10, the more pure Android feel and most genuine reason is HTC offers quick software updates to it's devices. And the metal unibody... simply stunning for me. Thanks HTC for such a great machine.
It's confirmed, they're synths. This 'talk' was so robotic and just felt like you were reading the features list right from the box.
If the s7 had stock android, an IR blaster, usb c, qc 3.0, and the exynos in usa it would be the phone to beat
I'd go for the HTC, S7 is the best on paper, but experience is always better
agreed...best ui, no gimmicks, and bloat ware
All of these phones are great, but I'm not sure which on to get, the HTC 10, the Galaxy S7 Edge, or the LG G5. I'm looking to replace my HTC M8 now.
I want a phone with great battery, audio, & camera. Which is the best for that regards?
HTC 10- I prefer its software,audio & camera
S7 Edge- I prefer its battery life, display, camera, & better accessory availability
LG G5- I prefer its removable battery & camera

I'm confused though, Krystal picked the S7 for the camera, but in her own shootout her and her "friend" picked the G5 to win on most shots... I'm very confused...
lol true
dude isn't it obvious? she just hates LG. she's a fanboy of samshame
does the s7 edge lags? cause i hear a lot of people saying that, bad ram management and heavy ui. If its not then it is the best out of the 3 (screen, camera, looks)
I did like this video format, but it could use some improvement.
I like how y'all did this...... thank you n keep up the great work.

24:11 wallaper?
After the lastest software updates, the photos on HTC 10 will look better.
@lanh the iron man skin on your macbook is awesome. Where did you buy it?
Enjoyable conversation to watch, different to most comparison videos.
Very interesting video format guys. Next time use even less webcam clips.
First is s7 and s7 edge best phones in the world after that htc ten
+Jacob Timcheck. Thanks for the reply. please keep me updated on your thoughts with the M10. My very curious mind is awaiting in anticipation.
LG G5 is the best
Gear S2 (BALR.) or the zenwatch 2.
Who's better and what are the pros and cons?
Thanks
why not motto 360 gen 2?

+GoldNugget Gear S2. Especially if you own a galaxy device
Thanks!
