Having gone back and watched more 80's film, MJ copied a lotta guys moves. Go back to his rookie yr and watch some of those games he was playing, a lotta stuff done on him or by teammates he took and added to his game. That's prob why Bias was such a challenge for him. MJ had a lot of skill but also took time to develop to her to the level he did. Old footage of Clyde, for example, there are plenty of games where he's scoring 40+ or even 50 or more points in a very defensive era. But no one talks about it.
In these clips, Jordan knew he was beat and didn't want to get postered so he stood down. There's a few posters in there still, but it was cool to see.

@@jermainehaynes3457 you talking shit bruh. Jordan was the difference. Clyde wasn’t putting up 30 or 40 to win. He damn near had the same amount of help.
I love Clyde, and he played well all around in that series until you look and see that he shot 40% and MJ shot like 52%. MJ outplayed him and it wasn't really close. Clyde for what it's worth was one of the best rebounders at his position of all time especially on the offensive glass. I will say that yes in the finals Clyde was the best 2 guard Jordan faced. MJ was just clearly better.
And people have the nerve to say MJ only played against plumbers and truck drivers. A plethora of hall of fame players were terrified when they had to play against Michael Jordan.
My 2 all time favorite players ive ever watched. As a kid i grew up in a basketball loving house. Pops still has the VHS recordings of all the 80's playoffs. The Blazers was my team because i loved watching Clyde play. Then i discovered Mike, who played very similar to Clyde but he had a little more edge.
They both embarrassed each other. There one thing i can can say that MJ was not willing to challenge Clyde on a dunk at the rim. I was thinking not only did he not want to draw a faul, but not get a facial embarrassment as well. Great players, I respect them both but the Glyde is my favorite.
Clyde was a phenom. Maybe just didn't get the same PR as some other players around him. But the whole league knew he was one of the absolute best playing the game at that time. Everyone respected him. Even MJ
How many players like Clyde did MJ have to face when he played? Exactly, it was only Clyde, do ya'll know how many players with their athleticism and talent there are nowadays? At least 80% of the players from today are as athletic and talented or Even more than they were back then.
This is one example among many that illustrates today's merit. Without calling into question Jordan's impeccable quality of play, but good communication surpasses any super talent, because Clyde could eat Jordan whenever he wanted.
When the bulls played the trailblazers, they were up 3 games to 2 going into game 6. In game 6, the blazers were completely outplaying the bulls through three quarters and were up by 15 going into the fourth. Something that is rarely, if ever, played on youtube, is Clyde Drexler’s block of Michael Jordan’s shot in the third quarter. It seemed to exemplify that game. Phil Jackson had basically thrown in the towel when he took Jordan out of the game. They knew they were not going to win game 6 and that they would have a game 7. That’s when the referees took matters into their own hands. The first 11 possessions that the blazers had, the referees made horrendous calls against them. Even the commentators acknowledged it on multiple occasions. The bulls tied up the game during that stretch with Jordan on the bench. Then I watched as Jordan fouled Buck Williams close by the basket. Jordan hit Williams on the arm, the ball flew straight up, always a clear indication of a foul, Jordan grabbed the ball and scored. The referee was standing right there and could have made the easy call, but didn’t. That was an easy four point swing, which by the way, was the point differential at the end of that game. We will never know what would have happened had there been a game seven. Maybe the bulls win maybe they lose. However, there is no doubt in my mind that the fourth quarter of game six was fixed for the bulls to win. Don’t believe it? Watch the full game. It’s on youtube for everyone to see. During the 90s, the NBA was hyping Jordan and they couldn’t have him lose a finals to Clyde Drexler and the Portland Trailblazers. Jordan was a great player, but Drexler was right there with him. In my opinion, just as good. He just wasn’t getting the hype. Case in point, everyone who watched the 1992 all star game, considered by many to be the greatest all star game ever, observed Drexler completely take that game over, outplaying everyone including Jordan and Pippen. He should have been the mvp of that game, but instead, they gave it to Magic Johnson. He had the bigger name and was more popular. Fast forward to the NBA finals. Jordan was great, but I watched as Drexler, at times, outplayed Jordan in key moments during those 6 games. No one likes to reference that. Perhaps it’s because some fans of Jordan revere him as the greatest ever and don’t want anyone to even think that he had any equal. Indeed, many continue to view Drexler as a “poor man’s Michael Jordan”. If you watch the games that Drexler played against Jordan, you will see that was not the case. Regarding the 1992 finals, If you switch the roles of the blazers and bulls in the fourth quarter of game 6, and the bulls blow a 15 point fourth quarter lead and lose the game and series to the blazers because of 11 straight calls by the referees, bulls fans would have screamed from the rooftops that the game had been fixed and an investigation would have been formed. But because it’s just the Portland Trailblazers, nothing is said. You can’t have it both ways. The 1992 finals should have gone seven games. It didn’t. But don’t try to sell this thought that Jordan had no equals. In addition, I really do wish that the bulls had faced the rockets in the 1995 nba finals. You know, the year that Jordan came back from his first retirement. There are those that would have you believe Jordan was retired for two years. He wasn’t. He was retired for a year and a half. He came back, played great at times, but ultimately failed to get past the Orlando Magic who were swept by the rockets with, guess who, Clyde Drexler playing an integral role. Without Drexler, not only do the rockets not win that finals, but I doubt they even get there. How I wish the bulls would have faced them. The rockets would have beaten them also. Then there may have been some controversy. Who is better? Jordan or Drexler?
I hated Jordan as a child.. And I can certainly believe what you're saying. About the NBA reading certain things... But at no point did I see clyde drexler dominate jordan in any way during that series... In fact I vividly remember Drexler being reluctant to put the ball on the floor when jordan was guarding him...
Jordan was a great defender and it was not easy getting the best of him, so--for Clyde to have done it so much--tells you of his quality! I honestly think their playoff loss to Chicago could have gone their way--if they had conceded 40 or 50 pts to Jordan(guarding him man-to-man as best you can) and stopped his teammates! Houston held Jordan in check(22-35) and put the other Bulls in a vice every single time from 90-93! The thing is--it's nearly impossible for 1 man to beat you by themselves! Let's say Jordan averages 40 and never gets higher than 50. If they kept the Bulls at 30 as a group, how many games would the Bulls have won in the Finals?! That's what Houston did to em! Shame on you Adelman! They could let Jordan knock himself out, but they'd always have a chance to outscore them if they stopped the other Bulls!
Awful, the only player to have rivaled MJ in the SG position and Clyde had no bag going left, no handles other than that in and out dribble. 90s golden era lol

Finals showed everyone the difference. There was no comparison. Clyde was good but NOT MJ Good... MJ averaged 11 points more on 52% shooting against Clyde with 43% in those Finals. Dude was no match for MJ. You guys should do some research. Making a video on this now. @@ivancollier1512
jordan is the goat on a farm
Do a video on how dwade isn't the 3rd 4th or 10th greatest shooting guard of all time please clyde would have made a mockery of the boy
@Palm Trees Could you imagine if Clyde played with Shaq?
This just in: Delusional old head can't respect greatness
Clyde very much would've punished Wade. I personally feel like Clyde is still the #2 SG oat. But Wade is within the top 10 tho.
@@benyah3390 Is Kobe a SG?
@@KK-pm7ud yep
The dunk Drexler had on Cartwright in those finals was pretty impressive too.
Clyde said Jordan never talked trash to him.
Clyde was sooooo good! Loved those years.
This was his hardest challenge ever in the Finals. He knew he was matched nearly even with clyde but the bench we had was amazing closers and sharpshooters at all positions.
Well MJ had an ACE in his sleeve, THAT DREXLER HAVE! Special Treatment from the Refs in the 4th quarter!!!
For those that didn't watch the games back then, this cannot be overstated. MJ (and his Bulls) typically got so many bad calls bailing them out it should be ambarrasing for any CHI fan.
Been watching old all-star and Dream Team games. The combo of Stockton and Drexler was deadly. Probably the best fast break I've seen.
Every great player had their moments.👏👏
But in the end, drexler received the same fate like every other great player in the 90s.
His Airness #23
Mike jus had a better team and yes mike didn’t only play 6 years in the nba
Mike was better PERIOD
his airness couldnt beat pistons lakers celtics .only when they got old airness finally got his 6 rings out of a bubble gum machine ////////////////than he went to the wizards and followed the yellow brick road to nowhere////////////if u look in dictionary for the word ballhog u will see a picture of jordan next to the word...........////////////
they embrassed each other honstley
so antman clyde dunking over jordan aint skill smh
Jordan aint wanna jump with that boy
If they chose to to market Clyde like Mike, we wouldn’t know the difference 💯
Crazy Thing: There are TONS of clips of players doing this to Jordan! Nobody ever wants to show them.
Looks like Jordan copied alot of Clyde Drexler moves
So with that being said kobey copied Drexler to
Having gone back and watched more 80's film, MJ copied a lotta guys moves.
2:55 MJ is overplaying Clyde to an absurd degree. I could have gone left and got to the rim in that situation.
Clyde always went right with his head down. Everyone knew he was going right every time, they simply couldn't stop it.
He would have won lots of championships had he played for a bigger city, the bigger of a city you play for the more breaks you get from the refs!
That is so true
So why cant Philly win for shu
Mike was just a regular guy to Clyde 🤷🏾♂️
In these clips, Jordan knew he was beat and didn't want to get postered so he stood down. There's a few posters in there still, but it was cool to see.
I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. It's matchups like these, that in REAL life basketball, when I play, if I play against a great shooter, and he scores on me, I just tell myself, "Everybody gets scored on, by a great scorer. Even great defenders like Michael Jordan or Scott Pippen."
Clyde make a one hand dunk look so much more than a one hand dunk
Clyde Drexler held his own against Michael Jordan.
Not really. Look at the 92 finals. Jordan dominated Clyde. There's a lot this video didn't show lol
@@brandocommando5878 No, Jordan did not dominate Clyde Drexler in those Finals. Clyde Drexler held his own, and I’m a Jordan fan. Jordan had more help than Drexler did. Bulls were a better team then Portland was. Put Drexler on the Bulls team & Jordan with Portland and the Bulls still win the championship.
Always did
@@jermainehaynes3457 you talking shit bruh.
Dude, being from Portland I am a Bulls and Blazers fan. Clyde, damn he was great. Look at him palm the ball better than Jordan. Love them both.
My was better overall.Clyde lacked killer assassin instinct all time head to Jordan avg. 34.9, Drexler 23.9!
Clyde really got up there on that block. His head more than just grazed the net; it was practically in the net.
Clyde could really jump..we didn't see it much he just used enough to get the job done ..but that man could fly
Funniest thing is - he was going to go right. And players knew this.
Yet, it still didn't matter.
Imagine these two on the same team!!!
Clyde is an All Time Great Player !!!!!!!!
Clyde was unstoppable when he got the chance too show it he got more Highlights real on Jordan than anyone
Clyde making Mike look like Brad Sellers.
Used to love those old matchups between Michael and Drexler. That's how competition should be. All-star vs All-star.
Clyde glides over Jordan anytime any day.
And people have the nerve to say MJ only played against plumbers and truck drivers. A plethora of hall of fame players were terrified when they had to play against Michael Jordan.
thats why jordan didnt win shit against magic bird ........only when magic and bird left is when jordan won 6 toilet bowl rings////////
@@barry-x4v. Damn!! You hatin pretty hard ain’t you. What did MJ sleep with your man or something? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂
Clyde looked 42 years old his entire life. It’s the old azz name. He had game but was had stiff azz swag.

Wore 22 for Glyde when I was in HS, but this was definitely a case of avoiding catching fouls
It's not getting embarrassed if you know that your opponent is as good and/or almost equally as talented as you.
Clyde the glide, originally shows that human can fly
Thank you for posting this. Everyone thinks Jordan got the best of everyone Drexler was the sh#t
You’re welcome
Clyde feed MJ with the same sauce of one hand ball following with a jump in the minute 0.32 . Great game on those days!
Jordan was playing that ole defense 😂
It's not as if Clyde could guard Jordan either. Lol
@@BKNY84 he tried he just got beat 😂
@@kbanks827 like everyone else!
Look jordan against drexler jordan can do nothing to stop dtexler!
Drexler shot 40% in the Finals mainly guarded by Jordan
He did stop him haha
Drexler is my favorite all time player.
He's my second favorite player behind Larry Bird
"Clyde was a threat" The only time I ever saw MJ acknowneldge about an opposite player. Drexler was a pure menace in his Portland prime
They both embarrassed each other. There one thing i can can say that MJ was not willing to challenge Clyde on a dunk at the rim. I was thinking not only did he not want to draw a faul, but not get a facial embarrassment as well. Great players, I respect them both but the Glyde is my favorite.
Dominique gave Mike and scottie the business
Jordan said Clyde was just as good as him on the court, but Clyde didn't know how to play "The Game" which means media, marketing etc.
clyde....my forever favorite. growing up in rip city...he was the freakin man!
Clyde split Scottie and MJ @ 1:50 and the bulls bench reacted. Damn!
Brilliant call. They all said oooh
Good catch
Clyde was a phenom. Maybe just didn't get the same PR as some other players around him. But the whole league knew he was one of the absolute best playing the game at that time. Everyone respected him. Even MJ
Truth be told Mike couldn't stop him just like he couldn't stop Mike this dude was a animal was Jordan damn near equal
How many players like Clyde did MJ have to face when he played? Exactly, it was only Clyde, do ya'll know how many players with their athleticism and talent there are nowadays? At least 80% of the players from today are as athletic and talented or Even more than they were back then.
That nothing Jordan put 35 points in the first half in game one plus the champ and the MVP finals and another start don't have champ because Mike...
He didn't put 35 on Drexler. That was Robinson and Porter getting torched.
@@benyah3390 haha try again
This is one example among many that illustrates today's merit.
Without calling into question Jordan's impeccable quality of play, but good communication surpasses any super talent, because Clyde could eat Jordan whenever he wanted.
If Clyde had Scottie he probably be 6-0 too 😂
Clayde el jugador mas elegante que jamas haya visto
The game exists on youtube troll
And i/diot. The Bulls won game 6s in 93,97,98 on last second shots almost goin to a game 7. Jeez
Man you're a delusional troll
Man you're a delusional troll
I hated Jordan as a child.. And I can certainly believe what you're saying. About the NBA reading certain things... But at no point did I see clyde drexler dominate jordan in any way during that series... In fact I vividly remember Drexler being reluctant to put the ball on the floor when jordan was guarding him...
Some SHOCKINGLY HORRIBLE defense in all these clips, the footwork, the discipline, thhe effort. Just oozes mediocrity.
I didn't like bball until I saw Drexler in a video game and it made me want to play and watch bball
Clyde was my dude during the 90’s
Dose are some random plays... some random MJ sitting on the bench... common that's basketball, it's not like nobody has a good plays against Jordan. Clyde was obviously very good player.
Clyde the Glide was great. But just because he burned Jordan sometimes, it doesn't mean he's better and it's not a discredit to Jordan. All of the stars and superstars in the NBA are at such a high level that even the best defenders can get burned sometimes.
Clyde really is an underappreciated Superstar. Too bad he and Jordan were in the same era. Clyde gets overlooked.
Clyde the glide was the real deal very underrated... he won some battles against Jordan but Jordan won the war
After watching the 1992 finals I put a tittle like this in a video? Stop watching basketball, there must be other sports out there for u to watch
Even with the Bulls defeating the Trailblazers in the '92 Finals, Clyde still has prime real estate in MJ's head!
