Let's be honest, the average person can't afford any of these vehicles anymore.
You’ll never afford it with your attitude.
Yet pickups are the best selling vehicles in America....
No more average people around
You just forgot…”without going into debt further than your parents would dream of doing for a vehicle”
@@coreysmith2774 because people are stupid and like going broke
You really needed to test stopping distance while towing. That's what's important while towing. Controlling your load.
That’s what she said
Real men control their load.
Hardly anybody tows with their trucks. Trucks are a lifestyle vehicle now. They are replacing sedans along with SUVs.
Testing panic stops while towing.....can't think of a single thing that could go wrong.
@@andyleo8418 Speak for yourself.
Cybertruck: fastest up to 60mph on an on-ramp. Also fastest to the next exit to recharge after 50 miles.
its also the fastest to get recalled and rust... and its top notch for repairs costs
Also slowest to fill the tank.
You forgot, it's also the fastest to sell. 😉
You seem to be misinformed. Stainless steel does not rust, and Tesla has FEWER recalls than the other automakers.
@@renaissanceman5847 Which is impressive considering there was a Ford in the group.
I am so glad ford has kept the Coyote V-8. Really impressed with the Ram Hurricane straight 6 performance; durability? All i can say i hope it's better than the Tundra's new turbo V-6.
of course the first itterations are going to face issues its not that hard to understand.
The first iterations don’t seem to be doing very well in the wagoneer
Chrysler merged with Fiat, the worst US quality mated to the worst European quality. What could possibly go wrong??
The HP rating is too high for the displacement on a factory engine. These motors will be lucky to make it past 100k.
It is better than the Tundras turbo V6. It’s been out over 2 years with no issues.
Let’s be honest, no one’s cross shopping these two trucks against the polygon truck 😂
That's also what Doug Demuro said. Who gives a shit about payload specs etc. etc. people are buying this because they want to look cool.
@anticarnick buying a Cyberbeast because of the tech and the things I think are cool. Could care less what others think. If I wanted to act cool I'd be like most of these turds talking crap about the refrigerator truck. Those are the peeps trying to be cool lol.

Lol you corrected his grammar on a truck youtube channel 😂😂😂@jerrymyahzcat
The market has gotten strange, nobody would have called an f150 with a coyote a classic v8 in 2014.
Or a 5-liter a big V8.
Especially when the 5.0L V8 F150 only makes 55 hp and 10 lb-ft more than the 2.7L V6 and costs practically twice as much 😂😂😂😂
And that 5.0 is far from a classic v8 with it having VVT, two cams, and MDS
The f150 with a good v8 in it is better than anything electric
@Henry.25 It's NA vs Forced induction. Turbo the 5.0 and it's ridiculous
The Cybertruck will smoke the others to 60 and then get left behind when it runs out of battery after 100 miles. Its the tortoise and the hare all over again.
Darn straight!!
and the ICE can have a bigger fuel tank to barely ever need to top for hundreds of miles.
For all those rare occasions that you tow more than 100 miles.
after it pulls over to charge it would get gapped and never be able to in the race again.

V8 all the way for longevity!
You've seen all the lifter and cam failures and oil consumption issues with the current V8's, havent you?
@@Jay-me7gwyes i want the v8s to be better. We could even make an argument for 6 cylinders in a straight because what if its easier to rebuilt the top and bottom. But the v8 is good if we dont make em junk
@@TheAnnoyingBoss They are going to make them junk though. At least in the half ton trucks where MPG's matter. The V8's are every bit as complex as the Twin Turbo 6 cylinders are now because of all the cylinder deactivation stuff.
Its 6 of one, half dozen the other in terms of reliabilty. The only way to avoid it is to buy a 3/4 ton with a classic push rod port injected V8 with no cylinder deactivation or buy an older truck like a Tundra 5.7L.
@@Jay-me7gw One interesting thing is that the hemi's cylinder deactivation is actually quite good. I'm not saying the engine is faultless, I'm saying that somehow Chrysler has the best deactivation system in the industry by far.
Straight 6 has been used in semi’s for a long time, I don’t get why truck people dump on the straight 6 so hard.
Funny they chose to run the ford v8 instead of the ecoboost, I'd love to see the twin turbo 6's compete
Right I love v8s but the ttv6 ecoboost would dominate
They also did the cybertruck acceleration test in chill mode which is its slowest setting.. the incompetence is annoyingly consistent at tfl.
@@larryspiller15 that's impressive, the cybertruck got up to speed quick with the trailer
Actually, the new inline 6 from Ram will out do the ecoboost
@@FastTimes75 the 2.7 maybe the 3.5 ecoboost has more hp and tq and the power boost has even more so stop hyping dodge up
That Ford Coyote 5.0 will outlast all of them . Personal experience. Slap a 3.0 liter supercharger kit on that thing and its game over for the rest even the tesla.
Any V8 that is NA should
If you think an internal combustion vehicle can beat an EV vehicle in acceleration, you don't understand the engineering. There is no faster truck in the world than the Cybertruck.
@markburmeister4674 wasn't an engineering comment it was a reliability capability and longevity comment. That ev will need a battery replacement 8 to 10 years if you are lucky. Those batteries add to the overall cost of the ev and to the environmental output of the ev. You can't tell me that evs are more environmentally friendly when their carbon footprint to build and maintain far exceeds the lifespan of a modern internal combustion engine.
@@MDean25 The battery is guaranteed for 8 years. In studies, there is less than 10% degradation after ten years. I don't think you have the knowledge to comment on the environmental impact comparison.
@@MDean25 I expect a Cybertruck to last about 750k miles. What do you think?
0-60 in 6 seconds with a 3 minute refuel beats 0-60 in 3 seconds chasing charging stations to sit at.
True, but 99% of the time it is the better option. Charges at home, full tank everyday.
Most of these people can't afford anything to tow and use their truck as a daily with the thought of the odd chance to haul something one day.
To each their own though. Opinions are still like buttholes
If the can't afford anything to tow they sure can't afford a cybertruck 😂😂😂
@@possiblynickSo if you can’t afford anything to tow, why would you buy a $90,000 Cybertruck? 😂😂
you actually can just have a bigger fuel tank installed and no need to refill.
@@possiblynick unfortunately not true, not everyone has the possibility to charge at home and charging is sometimes more expensive outside.
That Ram’s exhaust noise sounds like a dying calf 😂
If you think that’s bad, what’s your opinion of the cyber trucks exhaust note? 😅
@@TheNewenglandboys the only person that will hear the ram exhaust is the one who is being passed..😖😝
What about the Ecoboost? Or Chevy 4 banger?
Ya ecoboost sounds worse
No Ecoboost or Turbomax (Chevy 2.7 I-4) in this video, so why would I comment on their particular exhaust notes? And no, they don’t sound good, either. As far as the Cybertruck goes, it sounds like what it is: an electric vehicle. I don’t particularly like it and it looks absurd, but one cannot judge the “exhaust sound” of a vehicle with no exhaust. I see the brand loyalists have come out to defend their preferred brands without taking any kind of context into consideration 😂
All three trucks did their job. That's all that matters. You buy your preference. Everything else doesn't matter.
the money matters
I tow less than 100 miles per day so range not an issue. I would just plug in and charge overnight. I would love to get one but I want pay more than $60k for any truck.
So your saying if its a work truck youre allowed to take home at night youll barely gave any range left and youll be charging it overnight every night on your own bill
@@TheAnnoyingBoss NO. I'm saying that I would have plenty of range, that's not a problem at all. ZERO concern about range. I would love to charge up for $15/week rather than the $80/week I pay now. That said, I will stick with my 17 year old RAM 1500 HEMI because its paid for. If the Cybertruck drops below $60k, I'll consider it.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss So you are saying he has to tow 12k lbs every day? The range is 300 miles without a max load.
They announced they're discontinuing the Foundation series in Q3. Also, they are building about 1100/week so the price will come down quickly over the next 12 months. If you can save $200 a month in gas/diesel you might come out ahead. Do you have areservation?
is 0-60 really that important when towing 9000lbs? maybe range is more important, or safety?
Yes, it give you an idea of on ramp acceleration. And it’s fun.
They're just using it as a proxy for accelerating with a heavy load. It's not the most important thing but people do care about keeping up with traffic. When I tow my 7k camper I'm only going 67 mph, but there's always someone going slower that I need to pass. Most people with trucks never actually tow anything.
@@jghall00there's also literally on ramps where people won't generally slow down for you if you're going 45 mph
@@joshc606 its not fun, its just waste of energy and possibly overworking your vehicle period! we all saw the Heavy D video of the past few days against the diesel Ram 5500! the 800hp tesla go up the hill 1 minute faster but barely did 40 miles on an almost full battery, the diesel has a bigger auxiliary fuel tank and can tow that same load for days.
U don't know by now? Tesla market is literally cheap speed for average Joe's. All people car about. They are the new poor mans sports cars.
Let's be really honest here. We pretty much know the outcomes already, most of us can't really afford them, but we're all 5 years old at heart and just love BIG TRUCKS!
People who actually tow don't worry so much about zero to sixty unless they are foolish. Hour about zero to sixty after 200 miles?
I want to get up to a safe speed asap when merging on ramp so the faster the better.
Yeah your right partly because one time we got a big boulder in a family farm on one side of the country and drive it to the other as a lawn ornament and that same trip in a cybertruck is a nightmare. Like 1200 miles man each way you want to bust that outnas fast as possible
Or more like 300 miles of range and no wait time before the next 300
Ever try to merge onto the freeway?
Here's a good test suggestion. Time each truck at a gas versus charging station. One rule though, you cannot disconnect the trailer. 🤣🤣
Lol..,exactly
Why? We already have the answer to that
Tesla has pull through chargers now.
@@dennisl6198 -- Not enough. Besides, does it even matter? EV's suck at distance towing and take a long time to charge anyway.
@@dennisl6198 Scrappers are stealing the charge cables for the copper... you're likely to become stranded in the Tesla...
How about an emergency braking test? Hook up the trailer, accelerate to 30, then slam on the brakes and see how well the truck can control the load.
The trailer brakes will do most of the work......so the test is skewed by the effectiveness of the trailer brakes.
@@darknes7800 Same trailer all 3 trucks. So the test is still valid.
Good test, but I think you pretty much reaffirmed what most truck guys already knew. Now test the 2024 3.5 ecoboost max tow vs the 2024 hurricane.
t
They should do a test with the 3.5 versus the hurricane, but it should be with the HO hurricane engine
@@pathunter7003 There are HO versions of both the 3.5 eco and the hurricane. So standard vs standard or HO vs HO would be a fair test.
@grizz474 they don't offer the ho ecoboost in f150 just the raptor so not really compare rho and raptor then
And the raptor will lose as it doesn't have 540hp
Eco boost is still the best half ton imho
Range is the most important thing more important than acceleration. Especially towing.
Except for short range towing, which is a real thing
@@jamesbeaman6337 - Even short-range, you are not doing full throttle acceleration towing in most cases. That is a good way to damage what you are towing if something breaks loose, or you can break parts on the truck. In the video you saw the RAM break traction accelerating. My F150 Ecoboost will do the same. TFL has a video where the broke the driveshaft on a tuned F150 EB due to wheelspin. Acceleration tests while towing makes for fun videos, but has very little real-world application. It is best to be safe and slow when towing.
@@chiplangowski3298 well I don’t have a tuned eco so I don’t worry about breaking the driveshaft, and do have the need for acceleration with a trailer as I do use expressways
I'm not sure you can say this. Many truck owners tow within a limited area. Cross-country towing is not as common. If one is towing thousands of miles, an EV is not ideal.
@@jamesbeaman6337lmao. Yeah Spending 100k for short range towing is a great use of your money.
Ya, because I always get in drag races when towing a trailer.

Mad why? I’ve personally said before I don’t care if the cybertruck does 0-100 in 1sec I don’t use a truck for fast acceleration. The thing is hideous.
If I want to go 0-60 in 3 seconds I’ll jump on my bike. And not look like I’m driving a 4th graders science project.
So all you care about is the looks of the truck rather than performance?
@@markburmeister4674 ya. most people just want to complain about a different looking truck while not excepting any if the facts about EV's
@@markburmeister4674 really fast acceleration doesn’t mean anything to me when choosing a truck. And the looks of a vehicle are obviously important. The cybertruck looks absolutely horrible. So if you add the silly looks to the fact it doesn’t really do truck stuff well, you have a losing combo in my opinion. I’m sure they sell well to the granola California types though.
@@pryme2013 Yes, you have made your opinion about the looks clear. That is your personal opinion. It is valid FOR YOU.
@@pryme2013 You know that if the Cybertruck was a few seconds SLOWER instead of FASTER, the petrol mob here wouldn't stop screaming about it. I understand that change can be uncomfortable, but it's also inevitable, and new designs and technology will replace what we were familiar with. How many vehicles are built with a stick-shift?
Well, when I'm towing a heavy load I'm not really worried about my 0 to 60. I'm thinking about safety and milage range, and my big diesel truck handles both just fine. Also, it's really nice to refuel in 5 minutes after towing for well over 300 miles on one tank. 👍
Yeah, imagine if an ICE vehicle took 40 minutes to refuel and an EV took 4 minutes? The EV certainly would make an issue of that.
@@user-vx7vi3vq1c and in very cold weather the EV range is quite short and some stations can take hrs to charge. People around Chicago and on turnpikes found that out last winter
Another good fun test. Thx.
6.54 seconds is still really fast for a truck. But it is outshined by EVs as expected. The Cybertruck still needs work with their towing functionality such as backup assist, auto hitching, types of trailers, weight and so on. It is likely to come with an update within a year or two.
Thank you for watching and the kind words.
Per Car & Drivers testing, my 2016 Ecoboost platinum 4x4 crew cab did it in 5.8 seconds, so Ram is still eight years behind Ford!
All the things you mentioned need to be worked on is small potatoes compared to the elephant in the room: range.
@@downbytheriver501 Yes, if you tow anything beyond short distances then the current EVs are lacking - some severely.
But a vast majority of truck owners never tow or only tow short distances.
For pickup long distance towing we need to wait for battery technology to improve, alternatively put a lot of batteries in the trailer...
If I lived at high elevation like Colorado I'd opt for a turbocharged vehicle otherwise naturally aspirated V8 all the way for it's sound and simplicity.
Sounds right.
I need to see this test done at sea level. Turbocharged engines will always beat a naturally aspirated engine above sea level
I need to air out one of my pet peeves. It’s not a big deal but it’s time to mention it- the only thing “old school” about today’s V8s is that the 8 cylinder design has been around for a century. The engines themselves have direct injection, sometimes a combination of port and direct injection, etc. Today’s V8s are not the same V8s of yesteryear.
At altitude, the Coyote was screwed. The 20-30% power loss hurts. The 3.5 Ecoboost would have performed much better up there.
This is really pointless because even the slowest accelerating vehicle in this group is more than adequate to do the job . Blistering Acceleration is really not what people are looking at when buying a vehicle to tow heavy loads . Price and range and capacity is what people are looking at .
This is clown channel
No doubt! When I am towing something, how fast I get to 60mph is very far down on my priorities list.
In all the towing that I've been around in my life I've never found myself or the driver asking for more acceleration, and I honestly think it's an overrated statistic people blow out of proportion.
At 6000ft, naturally aspirated engines lose about 20% of their power(general rule of thumb)
I grew up in Pennsylvania, moved to colorado(6800-7000ft elevation) for 6 years and then back to PA.
I owned an 08 4.2L V6 f150 when I moved there and a 14 ram 5.7L hemi V8 on the move back. You can definitely tell a difference even when not towing. 0-60s are usually about 1.5 to 2 seconds slower than what they'd do at sea level.
So towing, while I dint know a tual figures, I'd double that gap. So probably at least 3-4 seconds slower depending on the amount of power the truck has.
So that f150 should be probably 15ish at sea level, probably even better than that.
Turbos don't lose much(about 3% at 6000ft general rule of thumb), and electric loses nothing.
Awesome job Alex and Andre. Great teamwork.
Thank you for the kind words.
As a farmer in Canada, I wouldn't be buying any of these until they become affordable as a farm truck gets dirty, scratches, etc.
These trucks have become a 'rich man's toy' with there pricing
at least with the tesla you don't have to worry about scratches as it buffs out and you don't have to worry about dings and dents like the Ford aluminum pop can. How much for a King Ranch these days anyways?
Buy the cheaper model or used. All u need is a farm truck.
People are ignorant
Buying a cheaper truck is not the point bud lol
@gsingh1660 It is the point. Thats why manufacturers make models that are cheaper. Omg.
Everyone wants top of the line for base model prices..
News flash, thats not how life works.
@@rkwjunior2298no junior sir. The average brand new truck was alot less even for a higher model. And the average pay was okay.

Also the manufacturer are scum bags. They make bigger profits by selling us the luxury model rather than the average model
Hopefully that clears things up for ya.
0-60 acceleration with a trailer is cool, but do a 60-0 with the same trailer. That’s what really matters when towing.
I used to tow my race car with a 66 Ford with a 352 v-8. It was definitely slower than any of these and I never had an issue getting on an onramp. It was faster than a semi and they seem to have no issues either.
I bet almost none of the guys pointing out how a cybertruck can't tow for 200 miles without charging, ever tow anything 200 miles lol.
This may be a pointless test, because people don't slam it when towing, but most people also aren't towing their boat across multiple states.
Most trucks only tow like once or twice a year.
People keep saying that most people don’t tow that far last weekend we towed about 600 miles and didn’t even leave our state. Out here in the west 85 miles of towing distance is just enough to get you 100 miles away from the nearest charging station. I will stick to my diesel. People say this is the future. It ain’t in my future.
...yet
I look at where the best boating lake is in my county and the distance is 36 miles each way
"Nobody tows" is serious cope from Tesla stans when they found out how badly it fails at towing.
When you open the Tesla hood ...POW ...a copy of War and Peace for all the charging station delays !!
Not bad, Americans need to read more
Here in Michigan, Detroit News has an article yesterday about Automakers here in the US and overseas modifying their EV commitment numbers. Most wanted to be all in on EVs by 2030 but due to most early adopters already having EVs, the overwhelming majority of buyers are still preferring ICE vehicles. Overseas EV sales are also stagnant now.
OK, is it just me because I missed it somewhere but does the Cybertruck have a payload or even a bed you can use? Is it really a truck or a box? Furthermore, where do you get it fixed if it needs maintenance?
TFL has pointed out in other videos the payload rating. I don't recall the exact number but it is substantial, perhaps 2.5K to 3K, somewhere near there?
It has a six foot lockable bed and can haul 4 x 8 sheets of plywood. There is no regular maintenance required. Warranty repairs are done on-sight or at a Tesla service center.
i wish old top gear was still around. a fun episode would be if the three where doing a long trip accrose the US using these trucks.
If your range is 85 miles, you aren't towing anything anywhere with the Origami El Camino.

Asside from tires he hasn't spent a dime on maintenance. Charging it at home costs about 1/5 what fuel would. He doesn't need to tow. He doesn't need 0-60. One look at his setup and it's obvious his little car is definitely a very capable and functional "work truck". 90% of people who buy pickups are kidding themselves if they think they're buying them for their practicality. According to Ford's surveys of their customers, only 7% actually do any meaningful towing with their pickups. So these are obviously just for fun for most people. If doing 0-60 in a huge pickup is fun for you, then the CT is an awesome option. But to say it's not as functional for towing is completely missing the point if you think many pepe are buying these other trucks to actually tow anything ever.
Turbo charged trucks do better at elevation. Naturally aspirated trucks will not accelerate as well. Electric trucks do not care. Not mad at the test..I understand basic physics. Good to have choice right?
I've always criticized this channel because almost every test here is a elevation. Gives turbo charged engines an advantage over v8 na
Being able to get up to speed rapidly while towing is nice. You know what's even more nice? Not having to stop for an hour to recharge after every 100 miles, which effectively renders electric trucks WORTHLESS for towing.
It’s safe to say that the only people buying cybertrucks right now are either clout chasers or people who don’t need a truck to work
A lotta youtubers who can afford to bite the bullet
I looked up those weigh safe hitches, they are very expensive! The one you are using would cost me 570 before taxes and shipping😮
For towing I am going to stick with the cummins diesel. You need to stick with what your vehicle is designed for. The tesla cheese wedge is good for getting attention while sitting at a charging station for 3 hours
You don't seem to know anything about the Cybertruck. One can fully charge at home overnight, so a charge stop isn't even required for many trips, and when it is required, it can charge from 20% to 80% in about 40 minutes.
@@markburmeister4674try an hour and a half bud and theres a line you habe to wait because they take forever to charge. I csnt eben usenit for trips in my own state let alone outside of them. If i want to use it to go to denver to go to albuquerque to go to pheonix to go to san antonio its a overpriced royal pain in the ass. You can get a single cab v8 f150 a crew cab f150 for less so you spend tournsabings on gas and go farther faster. And you dont look butt ugly
@@TheAnnoyingBoss You are making things up. 40 minutes gets you from 20% to 80% charge. Plug in when you are eating lunch, and you might not even need an extra stop.
@@markburmeister4674Yeah great use of 100k for a truck that sucks at doing truck stuff compared to other trucks that cost that much.

Didn't the old Ecoboost 2.7 hit 60 in about 6 seconds?
Its hard for N/A engines at high elevation. That this is probably making about 20-30% less horsepower at that elevation
Yes, but that was more of a base truck, not a special off-road model.
Alex is a good truck presenter and this is a very entertaining video even tho anyone who buys a truck based on Zero to sixty doesn't need a truck. Thx for the content everyone.
Well if I were stupid and wanted to pay crazy inflated truck prices and pay 20k in interest over the course of my loan I would buy the v8 still… until that what should be 60k truck comes down to reality and interest rates settle back down I’m not gonna be one of the sheep who gives there’s auto manufacturers free money.
To all those saying 0-60 while towing is not important have never merged into a busy highway… taking 20s (or even 10s 30-70mph) to reach traffic speed can not just be challenging, but also dangerous. Not to mention with CT (until we get the range extender battery) you’ll need to merge more often 😅
It clearly isn’t a problem for a 80000 lb truck so therefore it shouldn’t be much of a problem for a little pickup
We knew the range would be an issue. If you want to tow with electric you would need a trailer with a battery or be traveling somewhere you can charge.
However how much time are you towing in your truck vs daily driving? The cyber truck is a daily driver truck not a tow truck.
People act like charge time is a big issue compared to gas fill up. You don’t take 3 min to fill up. You go inside. Take a leak, pick out a drink, wait on the misses who is in line. It takes me 15 more minutes to charge than it used to take to fill up at a stop. I will bet you if you count how often you fill up your truck on daily commutes vs how fast it is to plug in and charge out home. You will save more time in the long run than you will actually lose on the occasional road trip.
But again I agree. You shouldn’t buy the cyber truck as a long distance towing truck. It isn’t going to beat the range and power of gas anytime soon.
"Cybertruck is a daily driver" sounds about as wrong as when some clown tard told me its great for old people
Also if you're really towing long distance with any EV truck common sense would say slow it down to 55-65mph because it makes a big difference on your range. That 100 miles could easily become 140-150.
Do u can go the further with a full tank
Lol the ram sounded like a weedeater.
what is the point of this test ? Cybertruck is out because of the range issue when towing. So only useful test would be fuel efficiency of an I-6 turbo under load most of the time vs the V8. Who buys a truck to do performance test when towing ?
Range isn’t always a factor when towing. There’s plenty of towing done locally and the Tesla would be great for that, along with most of the other EV trucks if not charged at a supercharger.
TFL tested the f150 2.7 years ago and it snapped a high 5 seconds from 0-60. That’s significantly faster than the 2025 ram hurricane
That was with a 5star tune in it not stock
Lol storyteller
Oh ya a 300hp truck down on 120hp and 100 torque gonna be quicker what a dreamer
not that i would buy a ram with hurricane engine but just wait for the times the HO engine will produce, ill will be keeping my 2013 1500 tradesman hemi, no issues with 200000 k on the clock.
Great job, guys. You rocked it.
Thank you!
If I'm using a truck for truck stuff I'm not really worried about acceleration...kinda like a freight train doesn't worry about speed, lol. Heck, look at trucks from the past, usually a straight six in them from small trucks up to big grain trucks, you wanted the torque to haul with even if your top speed was 50.
When Andre stated the prices I did not know what to think. Manufacturers should realize that these prices are not in their favor in this economy and they are going to continue stacking up. There is a Ford dealer in my area that has been renting a property near
their dealership because they are so overrun with trucks. I never see that amount going down either as I continue to drive past it.
Those trucks are fully twice the price that my 2018 F150 XLT Ecoboost was brand new. These trucks have a few more features than my truck, but not enough to justify the doubled price.
I would rather see a fuel eco test over a 300 mile trip with a trailer!!
It doesn’t fit their agenda
I would like to see your proposed towing test with the Ford Ecoboost against the new RAM Hurricane. These engines are the future, whether we like it or not. Fuel economy under load could be an issue.
just take an old diesel fill it up with used oils and free ride lol!
The 90% of the time when not towing the CT costs 1/10 the fueling costs, the largest factor in lifetime cost of ownership.
@@jdcarguy1242 that’s how yuppies think, some of us have a trailer hooked up to our trucks 90% of the time
Why did you not brake torque the hurricane ram like you did the ford when taking off with the trailer?
It already spun the tires while accelerating. They likely would have broken something if they launched it harder.
We did brake torque it.
@@chiplangowski3298 it wouldn’t break anything, the tires would have just spun more is all
I love that Coyote 5.0. It’s easy to swap into classics, and has the ability to install a blower, bumping those numbers up to nearly 800hp. I don’t think the hurricane would handle that, but we shall see once tuners get a hold of them.
Who cares!!!
0-60 towing is such an infinitesimal factor in truck performance is shouldn't even be a thing, You're doing this for Tesla because it's the only number it excels in.
Deliver a load 120 miles out and back, every truck back to the 1950's blows it out the water in time and cost.
What is lost with a lot of this debate is that a lot of people see EVs as being inconvenient. It’s only if you tow. It’s actually more convenient most of the time; when you’re not towing (which is most of the time) because you never have to stop for gas. Because you wake up everyday with a full tank. Tesla is an American success story that is pushing the envelope it’s something to be celebrated.
Agreed!
Correct. Sometimes I'm surprised by the hate. Going on long trips for most people is so rare that it shouldn't be the biggest factor. Daily driving when you own a home have a place to charge is really good. However, I would never have an EV as my only car. There still are limitations, and as long as you are aware of them, you can work around them.
man, that Ram I-6 sounds like a weedeater
Excellent video.
I don’t think most people don’t care about power. They rather take longevity over power
Pointless…. The most important part of towing is RANGE nothing else, cyber junk fails miserably at being a real truck . It’s a hideous joke and costs more to tow with in your own words.
Maybe for you. Most truck owners in my rural area rarely go out of a 50 mile radius.
Would love to know the times on the 5.7 Hemi and the 3.6 Pentastar too.
Side note-the time on that Ram is awesome. Let's hope Chrysler doesn't mess up new designs as they often do.
No more Chrysler. Stellantis now💷🤪

Um... look up Midnight performance Ford trucks.
At elevation, a turbo 4 would have been near the top of the tests as well. You've definitely proven forced induction is the key at altitude. Good video!
Needed a 1/2 ton diesel in this test too.
All these people talking smack about limited range of the cyber truck fail to realize that most consumers (people talking smack included) the average tow is only to the local boat ramp or the dump. Long as you remember to plug it in when you get home you have a full charge every morning.
Not a EV owner (actually only have v8s) but the limited range isn’t as big of a deal as everyone is portraying
I own all three of these trucks and I enjoy them but my favorite is the Twin Turbo
People sour about the Tesla discredit its 0-60. While I dont like the cybertruck, 0-60 is still important, especially while towing, because it gives insight into capability while merging and potentially what to expect while hauling a heavy load uphill. Do you always need to hit 60 in 9 seconds towing? No. But if it's 25+ that could be a problem when your local interstate traffic flows 85-90mph.
Merging onto what? The interstate that goes 650+ miles east?
Cool comparo! Also, I miss the era when people wore hats that fit. I know I'm old.
Hey, I'm just glad Alex is no longer consistently wearing his backward. Adjustable-back caps with a patch of shiny forehead showing through the opening is literally the stoopidest look on the American male in years.

Dang, I didn't realize so many hot shot drivers watch this channel. I didn't know so many people needed to drive more then 300 miles every day. Changing is rarely an issue, but it is the only thing that is talked about by the ICE owners.
This is so true. I have seen post of people claiming that they need the trucks to drive 900miles in a single day without stopping or that they take hours to charge at the super chargers. Most people just dont want to accept the facts that things change and refuse to accept something different because there too stuck in the past.
