I just brought the 2021 Armada SV and was lucky to get it for $1500 under MSRP. The SUV with pearl white looks beautiful and the ride and comfort of this vehicle is just fantastic. If you are looking for a big SUV, for the best price and quality (made in Japan), look no further than the Armada (and nobody is paying me to say that, LOL).
@@trinisuprazee So far, I love the SUV. 16,000 miles so far along with pulling a boat, and no issues. Sometimes the infotainment goes out and re-boots, but I believe that is because there is a dead spot for satellite connection, but other than that it is a great truck. If you can get a good deal on the 2022 models, I would go for it. Good luck.

For people watching this video, don’t trust this clown. We just bought a 2021 Armada Platinum and we love it. At 7:15 in the video he talks about the drive mode selector…..it doesn’t feel “flimsy” at all as he said. Also he talks about the second row seats in the Armada and says they’re “hard and not as comfortable.” Also not true. Been in a new Tahoe and the Armada is much more comfortable than the Tahoe. Also, in the third row of the Armada, our Platinum seats slide back for more leg room and we have a USB port on both sides which he said there aren’t any. Sure would be nice if these car review people weren’t biased and told the truth.
I’m jealous. I have the 2022 armada platinum and my third row seats don’t slide back. I also don’t have usb for the third row. I love the armada but those two features would make it even better! I’m in North America, perhaps that’s why there is a difference ?

Nissan's V8 is an amazing engine it can last you forever. I would buy Armada without any doubt, as I have 2004 infiniti QX56 for last 10 years very pleased with it.
For the money I'd take the Armada. Almost 20k less and a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Only thing I'd change is a sliding second row. We were looking at trading in the wifes 2016 sequoia for a 2021 Armada but the lack of a sliding second row was the reason we chose to keep the sequoia. We're going to trade it for a TRD pro since were moving to our land and need 4wd (our current 16 sequoia is a 2wd)

The downside of it was the overkill of issues, anywhere from a recall, to lifter failure. I loved the tech in it. It came in $30,000 less than anything else, they weren’t selling during this time. I had previously owned a 2015 Infiniti QX80 sensory package at today’s terms, and had zero issues with it. The Nissan platinum falls short of the QX80, top tier trim definitely doesn’t match up. The Armada has an impressive engine. I have 138,000 miles no problems still strong engine. Tahoe much more expensive go with the Armada much better choice.
Test drove an Armada 2019 sl last month and bought it in Burnsville Minnesota. Loved it, only to find out it had too many problems not reported by the dealer nor carfax. I live in Superior Wisconsin so it was a long haul to find it it was not as advertised by the dealership. Happyfully I got my refund back for returning it three days later. And I thought to myself, what would I feel if I got one that was in good condition. I have a 2017 ford explorer xlt and it has too blind spot visibility. The Armada is the best and safest one I need. And the power to tow the camper, 8500 pounds, yes. Still looking for my retirement vehicle, wish me luck not a lot of Armada's for sale in Duluth Minnesota area.
Armada to the moon! Not gonna deal with GM’s active fuel management issues where it basically destroys the engine due to bending pushrods and the lifters seizing in its bore, now in ALL cylinders so GM can give the their 5.3 and 6.2 v8s the ability to run on 2 cylinders, , not just Cyl, 3,4,5,6 (middle cylinders) like before.
Great comparison, However 3 other reviews mentioned the seats in the armada were the softest they ever felt, (kinda off you mention they were hard). Either way, thanks for comparing the two giants. Easier to aid decision making.
I'm amazed at all the review talking about how luxurious the new Tahoe is. I looked at one last week, and while I agree that everything LOOKS luxurious, it doesn't feel that way when actually start touching the surfaces. it's plagued with that cheap GM plastic and flimsy switch gear. The glove compartment door feels like it'll break if you're not careful. The Armada felt more comfortable and well-built.
Price on both seemed high from this revie, sticker on our Armada was $71630, looked at Denali Yukons and HC Tahoes, stickers on those were about $11 to 13k more. I couldn't justify the extra, plus .9% with $500 and $2k loyalty helped with the decision. They might be slighty better but definitely not that much! Agree with driver seating position, but quilted leather seats are super soft and the ride is so smooth on the Armada and lots of new safety features. I might be somewhat biased but $ for $ decision was easy. BTW don't do a trade in, run appraisals from carvana, zoom and we buy any car, $2k more for trade in.
My family works for GM so I got the family discount. When I was 21 I brought a brand new 2007 Tahoe. I have no kids, I just like the big body style and wanted an SUV. In 2020 I got into a terrible head on acident and my Tahoe saved my life! It was 13yrs old with 219k miles and had no major problems. I was divested to lose that truck. My rental was a 2020 Nissan Armada. That truck was awesome! Coming from a 2007 with not many bells and whistles to driving the Armada for a month 👌 I couldn't bring myself to spending all that $ on a Tahoe. In 13yrs the MSRP was about 40k more. So I down graded and got the Chevy Traverse. I never thought I would go against a Tahoe but the Armada is bad ass, comes standard with more safety features, and is cheaper. I still love and miss the look of the Tahoe but when it comes down to what you get for your $.. Armada it is
I wonder how much of GM/Chevy being the, "sales leaders in North America" have to do with fleet sales (a lot of police departments and government agencies use them) AND, traditionally, GM, Ford, and Chrysler financing was easier to get than from Japanese and European automakers? If I had the money and was looking for a condo sized vehicle, I would MOST DEFINITELY want either a Toyota Land Cruiser, Sequoia, or Nissan Armada. If I am not mistaken, the Land Cruiser and the Armada are manufactured in Japan, and, UNLIKE GM, Ford, Chrysler, all 3 are known for getting 300,000 trouble-free miles (if you maintain them)........nuff typed.
Getting away from my Tahoe. I hate it lifters cams and transmission gone at 10000 kms. I still can hear engine knocking what a disappointment. Wanted to keep it forever when I first made my decision vs Tahoe vs Armada. My loss Chevs gain😔.
Which one needs a brake controller? As the third row seats shifts back as it reclines, does the seating get any more comfortable? How much more space is added with the seat shift?
I drive a 16 suburban (about to hit 200k miles - LOTS of highway driving), and just spent 11 hours driving a 2022 armada. I would never choose this vehicle again. The climate control never stayed consistent, the power steering is really loose, the space is tall but awkward, and junky infotainment system. It certainly had great power, but I averaged 14mpg towing a small uhaul trailer. Last time I towed a trailer in my suburban I still got 19.5mpg. The safety features were cool but they didn’t seem to work together well at all (except if getting too close while parking and backing up).
I knew that suburban owner made it up after they found out the Nissan Armada 🏆 wins for 8 years 2nd and 3rd generation of Armada same engine and tranmission 2016-2024 Long years good betterment reputation than Chevy Tahoe. So he commented as a jealousy as prejudiced. 😅😊

Great looking vehicle. Whats totally missing is how the rear seats fold. I have 3 kids in car seats and I cant buy this vehicle. As you would have to take the car seat out every single time to get kid to rear seat as they only fold over and dont slide. Sad that the pathfinder has the tech to have car seat installed and access to the rear, yet the vehicle built for large families does not. Here is hoping that the redesign has this in mind. Went with GMC Denali XL
I hope the japanese armada's designers can watch this video: See how well the Tahoe's designs and arrangements for the 2nd row seats and higher/wider rooms at 3rd row seats + better screen techs, charging ports in 3rd rows.....etc
The tahoe is bigger with better interior. But I will purchase the Armada instead. The Armada drives much better on and off road, and Nissan offered better discounts.

With Armada you get more personality and certainly more exclusivity and possibly more off road ruggedness. The Tahoe is one of the most common SUVs on country roads Armada hardly has any technology even with the major update on its info system which finally gave owners who pay 70K for it-an android/apple Tahoe has everything but can be maxed out at near 100K. Maybe that's why it is the best seller? People just can't get enough of them it seems. Along with Suburbans and Escalades this will likely become the largest depreciation of car values in American history. However, your banker will still expect you to have paid up their loan. My choice would be a 50K Armada with all the latest features sigh.
Anyone who has owned a GM product knows the ENGINE WILL LAST FOREVER, but the plastic interior will last 1-2 years before it cracks, Head light last 9 months etc. Ever looked in the rear view and seen a GM with one head light, LOL all the time. I just wish GM did a better job on the injection molded plastics.
Just test drove the Armada Platinum last night and the amount of vibration on the wheel and noise in cabin is ridiculous for the sticker price. The Tahoe drove way better overall. I currentyl have a 2018 Nissan Rouge and that drives better then Armada. Also test drove the Pathfinder and that one also drove better and more functional then the Armada.
Ur joking right, the 2018 Rogue is a garbage vehicle compared to the new 2021 Armada. A reliable but hunger 5.6 liter v8 that’s best in class vs 3.5 rated Jd powers 2.5 liter v4. A tiny cheap infotainment system on top of a cheap and unreliable transmission (CVT). Statistically the Armada better and I have test driven one before buying the 2021 pathfinder it’s just a great at driving but a little vague in turning. Armada it is
Armada for the win no one can beat this car
My mom has a white armada platinum with a peanut butter interior and my dad has a grey Tahoe high country with a mocha interior😊
The only thing you didn't talk about was gas mileage between the two
Armada the beast
Getting away from my Tahoe. I hate it lifters cams and transmission gone at 10000 kms. I still can hear engine knocking what a disappointment. Wanted to keep it forever when I first made my decision vs Tahoe vs Armada. My loss Chevs gain😔.
I love the 2021 Tahoe but damn it’s expensive. So masculine and handsome. If it was 20k cheaper I’d get one in a heartbeat.
Suburban is disposable junk. My 2016 Infiniti (same as this Armada) has 200k miles, never had any repairs or check engine light. Built in Japan.
95k for a chevy tahoe is just insane
Is there a new 2021 cadillac escalade engine
Alhamdulillah in my experience owning nissan/infiniti, they are more reliable than the toyota/lexus. Especially when you take good care of your Nissan's vehicle with service routine with good oil, good spare parts and so on , in sya Allah they are more-more reliable. 🙂👍
Armada over ANY GM every time!
The Denali xl has sliding 2nd row?
Tahoe has a ridiculous price and is known to have a poor build quality. Neither one is perfect but the Armada's price makes it a no brainer.
@@brokeduece1691 Nice. I recently check Nissan's website, the interest rate is all at 2.99% ... quite attractive to buy. then just choose one between Armada & 2022 Pathfinder...
@@brokeduece1691 armada ie Nissan Patrol Y62 introduced in the Middle East in 2010 since that year Nissan never changed any thing in second and third row seats. I do own 2018 Nissan patrol Platinum what an amazing and reliable car coming from 2015 Gmc Yukon which problems never end from slipping transmission to bad lifters to leaking condenser. Most Yukon and tahoe owners complain from bad reliability in first 3 years i have had to drop my vehicle to the dealer 11 times 😑. Now in my Armada is my third year Zero complain.
@@zad4809 That’s a Japanese car right there
Alhamdulillah nissan armada's seats are more comfortable and thicker than the chevy tahoe.
Armada all day.
Thanks for video 📷 , this is beautiful 😍❤️❤️❤️
I WILL GO WITH THE ARMADA, JAPANESE VEHICLES ARE WAY MORE RELIABLE.
Great review! I drive both occasionally as I get a discount on rentals...
The Tahoe Is overpriced but both are nice..my comparison between a Tahoo LT and Armada sv
Price: ARMADA by far
Power- Tahoe
Ride comfort- Armada
Interior style: Tahoe (plastics feel cheap tho. Armada still kinda outdated)
Exhaust: Armada. She breathes
Exterior style: Tahoe by far.. I got a lot of looks in the Tahoe.
Fuel efficiency- Same
Sunroof: Tahoe
Cargo: Tahoe
I wish Nissan would make the titan interior like the armada the interior is still outdated with there new update
Nissan Armada is manly of truths comparison to Chevy Tahoe is manly as talkative -n- hypocrite.
There's something about push-button transmission selectors that creeps me out.
With Armada you get more personality and certainly more exclusivity and possibly more off road ruggedness. The Tahoe is one of the most common SUVs on country roads Armada hardly has any technology even with the major update on its info system which finally gave owners who pay 70K for it-an android/apple
Tahoe has everything but can be maxed out at near 100K.
The Tahoe is my favorite car of all so I hope the Tahoe wins.
You look more like a boss in a Tahoe
True. But the NISMO edition Patrol is second to none. Just doesn't sell in NA I guess
Suburban looks sooo good
Ngl the armada would have been better if it had a little more space. Hopefully the redesign is better
I hear that someone was skipping speech therapist classes at kindergarten ;)
Brand new the Armada wins on price.. But over all Tahoe wins
It's all over the Tahoe were expensively to go there 😂.
I think the Nissan is a lot nicer. And a Breath of fresh air too the overpriced domestics.
Nice SUVES CARS.
Both are built to impeccable standards. The Chevrolet built to outlast a pack of 2 minute noodles. The Nissan engineered by an elderly man.
Tahoe is WAY overpriced. Even used they are too much...
Armada!! land cruise?
Nissan is more reliable then Chevy.
Chevrolet Tahoe And Nissan Armada competes with the Ford Expedition Toyota Sequoia Dodge Durango Jeep Grand Cherokee L
Don’t compare a CVT v4 to a Reliable 7-speed Auto v8
@@deadbot61 so... not gonna mention the Tahoe huh? The one i was comparing more to the Armada. Way better overall then the Armada...
And who said i was comparing a 2021 Pathfinder CVT? I now own a 2022 Pathfinder which is a 9 Speed Auto. And still drove better then the Armada imo. Not talking about the Motor size as its still sluggish compared to the Tahoe in any trim model.
Even the dealers that i went to said the Armada was cheaply made and not as functional but wishful for the next upgrade for Armada.... 👍🏼
@@deadbot61 I thought there wasn't a 2021 Pathfinder?
At the end if looking for durability I go with the Armada. Chevy transmissions , suspension sucks
!!! SHEVY !!!
Tahoe is better b/c it’s equipped w/hands free foot activated trunk opener
@1:52 terrible engine design who the helllll puts air intake box in front of the block
Tahoe prise killing me 95000
Nissan will break your back the seat it’s very limited to adjust
95k that’s seriously a joke…. Get the Lexus LX even if you have to grab a Certified Lexus LX it is far and away better then anything GM will ever make ( I’m look’n at ya Escalade)… The Lexus LX is the Cats Meow… Good for 1/2 Million Miles.
Who in the Hell wants to tell tell friends they dumped 95k on Chevy or 75k on a Nissan .
That would would be embarrassing as hell plus if you have an HOA they should fine you for depreciating the neighborhood with those $hit Buckets
I think your blind the seats in Chevy are garbage, Nissan seats are comfortable hands down!
Just rented a 2022 Nissan Armada from Airport in Fresno. After 2 days in on my way to Yosemite National Park the dang thing over heated. Returned for a Tahoe instead. No problems.
BS
I'll take things that never happened for $1000 Alex.
The Armada by far is better than Chevy. GM is garbage, had a 2019 Tahoe, and the transmission failed at 27K... All GMs are garbage
Chevy and GMC are nothing but overpriced rust buckets! The difference between the two is, the Armada will not rust out, more reliable and you dont need Astroglide when you buy it.
Not to be rude or disrespectful, but these TH-camrs are largely the problem. No mention of reliability, service, ease of repair, etc… Ya know, the things that actually matter
Tahoe wins for me. Not today armada
I call bullcrap on people talking about GM switch gear and so called cheap plastic. All of them have plastic. It just looks like pompous Americans just have to bash either Ford or GM but love Japanese/Korean/German car companies dirty underwear.
Tahoe is not 95k .
It's 75k
They lied and strooge.
"20k less" LOL.. end of comparison.
Armada requires premium fuel. Something nobody seems to mention.
That is not true regular fuel or premium will give you 400 hp
@@letdothisman1139 per Car and Driver: “Power is supplied by a tried-and-true 400-hp 5.6-liter V-8 which, when fed premium fuel, makes 10 more horsepower and 19 more lb-ft of torque than last year’s model.”
@@jeeping2002 not required for best performance premium fuel but regular is fine
I rented a QX80 recently for a 2,000 mile trip. Didn’t tow but I only filled up with regular gas. No issues at all. Great car. Also, both the Armada and QX80 are built in Japan.
the tahoe 5.3 is a turd only thing with armada still no paniramic roof
Era Mill
Neither is appealing. Tahoe is too expensive and Armada needs a total refresh. Dated . No panoramic roof. 3rd row small for its size. Super thirsty…
Bias host....still ARMADA
First
You could tell this guy is getting paid off by a GM because I just bought my first armada five days ago and I love it and I’ve had Tahoe suburban Cadillac Escalade and let me tell you the 400 hp I got it it’s smokes the other ones with a little a few additives you know small chip exhaust in the filter I think will be screaming and it will last a hell of a lot longer and the price you can’t beat
