Your machine is a potato digger built by Johnson Engineering in March Cambridgeshire at approximately 1965 the colour was orange they was taken over by Ransom about 1970 and then they painted them there colour Ransom blue . I used to work for them in the day and also delivered them all over the country hope this helps. Michael
Oh wow really! we have had no idea of the make as the manufactures plate is missing, so it is 60 odd years old then, than you very much for this information as it will help us to locate the parts it needs easier.
Oh definitely save it and grow some spuds, you have a plough and a David Brown drill plough, drill shallow drills drop the potatos thengo between the drills only deeper, ( you don't really need a potato planter ), all you need is a rotavator, and a weeder, as for what make the potato elevator is, I think its a Johnson? Then Ransome took over the manufacturing, then Blair engineering, of Blairgowrie Scotland took over, not so sure their still on the go ? 🤔👍
Hi Calum, yes someone else had said that it is a Johnson adn later brought out by ransomes. We had got some spuds that were planted with the swedes as animal feed for the winter. I am sure that we did a video on the planting with the David Brown ridger and old seed drill.
I have the same one, single row, and use it every year for my few rows of potatoes, does the job perfect and the smallholders look for them so do not scrap it, someone will make use of it.
Got to save it, new ones are outrageous 😮
We will try our best to keep it going 😀🚜

Hopefully we can get it going again. A new belt and some new tyres will hopefully be a step forwards
Save it
We will try 😀
> laugh riot - it looked a lot more fuel efficient rusting away were it sat as part of that bramble
It might go back there yet ha ha
