Adobe doesn't work, once you merge them it puts the files into whatever order they want when you attempt to change the order it won't do anything unless you pay. Small PDF allowed me to choose my files, arrange them then merge, worked great. 👍
I used Adobe PDF online tool today and it does very well, I had to drag the files to change the order. I used tor browser with (medium security configuration) just in case it might limit the tool.
Love your videos Kevin but I think you should look into NAPS2. It stands for "Not Another PDF Scanner 2" but oh boy does it do a lot more than just scan. Just drag your pdf's in, arrange, rotate, maybe scan some pages into it save the whole file or just save certain pages. There is no cost and it is one of the best programs I have ever seen. I also set it up to do OCR when I scan. I even donated to the programmer which I do not do often. Highly recommended you check this program out.
HOW TO COMBINE PDFs ON MAC: 1. select all the PDFs you want to combine (by holding shift & left mouse clicking on each file). 2. right click on the highlighted group of files. 3. go to "Quick Actions" then click "Create PDF". i spent way too much time trying to figure out how to save photoshop layers as PDF pages in a single file... just do it the way i mentioned above. hopefully a similar function exists for Windows.

I installed PDF creator. By printing to it I can merge not only PDF documents but any type of documents. If all you want is merging this is the most versatile
Fabulous video! It helped me quite a bit. Before I got a new computer, the Adobe application allowed me to merge files. Now I have to upload my files to the cloud in order to merge them. I am not comfortable doing this with sensitive documents. Kevin's video provided instruction regarding downloading a free app so that I can accomplish merging docs on my computer without uploading them first. Thanks so much to Kevin for providing this information and for sharing his knowledge!
This is really helpful but there is an issue. The size of the new pdf that comes from the merged ones is too large. I mean larger than it should be. For example 4 merged pages come out with a size like more than 2 MB which is not the normal size of a pdf with 4 pages. Do you have any idea how this could be resolved?

Hi! I have 3 different pdf files that are chat exports with the same person. One file is our chat history on whatsapp, the other on facebook messenger, and the last has our chats on imessage and regular SMSes. These files are huge as the go back longer than a decade ago... What I want to do is merge all 3 in pdfs into ONE pdf file and I want the messages to automatically fall in place (be sorted) in relation to the date & time they were sent and received. **So, NOT to be able to just pick a page from one pdf, and insert it between 2 other pages of the other pdf; but to be able to select PARTS of the page from one pdf, and stick them inbetween parts of the other pdf...) I just want to end up with a final pdf file that contains all the messages from all the pdfs, but in chronological order - as if it was one single "global-chat" pdf export!! Is there a way to do this? (I'm on a Mac by the way, running Monterey)

Having a portable file format like PDF is convenient for those who work on both the electronic and paper format where the layout of the documents is preserved as they go between the two formats.

Do you know of any freesoftware that can store documents allow you categorize and organize into folder using a self hosting database on a NAS. One software I looking at is PDFkeeper. Can you reommnend any similiar to this but instead of local hosting its hosted on a NAS.
When I merge 2 pdfs to 1, there is a problem. That is the 2 pdfs in the merged pdf not the same size. One is large, one is smaller. So it looks not equal. Does anyone have the same problem as me? And how do I make the 2 pdfs in the merged pdf the same size? Anyone help me please!

Another secure work around you could use is Microsoft Word. Convert the PDF’s into docx, merge/edit as you need and convert back to PDF.
Doesn't always work effectively. Converting a graphic heavy PDF to Word is a challenge in its own.

You can also merge PDFs in Samsung Notes. I used it the other day to merge and rearrange pages.
