£300 overpriced? Try £700 overpriced. Coming from someone with a Radeon 6800XT Red Devil which by comparison look like bargains at about £1300.

I really value an honest opinion such as you have shown here. This morning I was in the work parking lot on my phone about to start my shift and as I have so many times before and entered the newegg shuffle expecting nothing. When i went to last break @ 4:30 i saw the congratulations email and did a double take; got the asus 3080 12gb strix. I've been looking for a card for almost 2.5 years between discord groups, notification sites, the shuffle, friends, family, work etc. It finally happened granted it wasn't my first choice but at the same time it wasn't a Zotac.

I just got an 3080 12gb Gaming Z Trio for £960 new. It was £110 more than an identical 3080 10gb card but as I play at 4K, the 12gb will last me longer as games become more demanding, high res textures etc. The 3080 Ti was £1230 so I saved nearly £300 and got 97% of the performance. Beautiful.

I can see this rolling into the new gen cards as well bth, owning a pc in the future will be can you afford it and it will tear down the PC industry and then effect the games market. Greed is the main killer, I mean look at the prices of all the peripherals that has shot up in price over the last few years, aio`s £300, Keyboards £250, Cases £250 and above. Im mean were is this going to end..

Sitting on an MSI 1080 Ti myself. My plan at this point is to save up until next gen drops, and then begrudgingly pay through the nose for a 7900XT or whatever they end up calling it. Unless it ends up being ridiculously expensive, that is.

Same here but run an ultra wide 34inch so need the oomph. Upgraded my 1080ti to the Supea v2 3080 reviewed here and there's a massive difference though cost ne £1230 for the fun factor.

I don't even need to know the price to have a guess that it's going to be AU$2000 more expensive than it should be.
Prices have not been sane since 1080Ti when crypto first started to take off and prices shot up on gpu's.
980Ti days is where prices should be and used to be every gen before that, Screw the market I'll stick to old games.

    Simple.
Release a refresh with slightly better performance.
Don’t make an MSRP founders edition card.
Quietly reduce stock of the 10gb version.
Up charge the AIB lots for chips.

As no one can get their ordered 3080's and in many regions cant get hold of 3080/80Ti/90/90Ti .... and all use the GA102 die ..... I feel this gpu is a combination of all these in one product at a Nvidia reset MSRP/RRP to rip off consumers and AIB's. I understand Covid19, logistics, delivery delays, hold ups in production, resources costs of metals etc agave increased, these gpus should still be a lot cheaper than what they currently are!

Nowadays that money can't even get you a high end card!
I understand inflation but seriously my income over the last 10 years hasn't went up much, certainly not nearly enough to justify paying over £1000 for not even the top range card.

Yup, exactly! .. My guess is because Nvidia did not put it into it's founders edition line up by making a founders edition card, released it with little to no fan fare by hardly promoting it and is too close to the 3080ti in performance and real world price to be squaking about it. .. However, at the right price? I would buy it in a minute tho! Hahaha!

NVidia is a public listed company. A bunch of kids that buy a 1 card every 3 or 5 years? If I was looking to invest 2 million I'd be looking elsewhere. But the miners that buy 50-60 cards every few years? maybe. But I'd look elsewhere. I worked for a company that told potential investors that they had 50 million in stock and 10 million in debt when the truth was they had 50 million in debt and 10 million worth of stock. It's all about greed.

When all is said and done it is Nvidia's fault, they're the ones fucking everyone over by releasing a different skew, when people are still waiting to buy their original 3080, and don't think for one minute that Nvidia couldn't say to the manufacturers your charging too much for our products pull your head in or we won't give you cores, get those prices under control, but ultimately everyone's all about lets bend them over for as much as we can get away with!

@@billlam7756 more power, less power whatever. the fact is that LHR is not the gamers savior as Nvidia said. They don't care as long as they sell the GPUs.
I'm sick of it. Somebody better invent a GPU that has 0 mining value because this will never end. The demand is infinite as long as crypto market doesn't crash and burn. Diy PC market will crash in 2-3 years when all old GPUs die or become to weak to play any new games.

When the masses remember that they are the market and they are the business, Nvidia will have a problem.
The only way to reclaim your buying power is to stop buying the product.
Just three months of total Nvidia boycott will cause the bean counters to send a memo.
Like magic, the prices will come down and new and exciting deals will emerge.
75 percent of the people need to boycott and get the prices down.
As long as we keep feeding the greed, the greed will only grow.
Then who is to blame for the overpriced hardware?
Honestly, at this point it is beginning to look as though Nvidia is supplying the crypto market on purpose.
    Like cpr.
Keep breathing life into it until it can walk on it's own and then they will have a completely new market.
Just keep in mind that they are doing this from the wallets of gamers and loyal customers.
    STOP FEEDING THE GREED
Be happy with what you have for a couple of years, sit on your money and teach them a lesson.
    I dare you.
    "I double dog dare you."

    • @waveformdistortion
      @waveformdistortion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That will do absolutely nothing because it's not demand from gamers driving these stupid prices. They can get away with it because crypto miners will pay whatever the asking price is for as long as they can continue to use them as a tool to make money. Talk to your government. Put pressure on them to ban crypto mining. It's the only way to fix things.
