First time when there was this mexican standoff between Rusot and Garak, I was sure Damar would just choose his buddy over the good guys. I was pissed, because I was sure, they would just kill Damar of. But I was pleasently suprised by our boy
Damar, just displayed remarkable grasp of change of circumstances ( Cardassia was done as an independent empire) and political pragmatism..........Kira was more important to driving out the Dominion than his old friend Rusot, who was stuck in the past.
Little to no recoil, no need to reload and orders of magnitude higher capacity, larger injury radius, can be utilised as a tool (such as a welder), no elevation or windage to worry about, power is adjustable without changing ammunition.
