I agree with you. Though he was good in TNG he never really got to show his skills as a warrior. In DS9 he is more physically active, he questions less and shows his smarts and well as his strength. I can think of several TNG shows that he could have easily overpowered those that he started a fight with
I thought I was alone in my opinion that Deep Space 9 was and IS the best of the Star Trek universe. Best story-line, best characters and The Best Actors! (Love Gul Dukat)!

At this point, Odo was transformed by the Founders into a full-fledged "solid". It was his punishment for accidently killing one of his kind, so he no longer has the properties of his species. He's not a changeling anymore.

My memory is kind of wack, but I'm pretty sure by that point that Founder wouldn't have actually killed Odo, just incapacitate him. *Because a changeling will never harm another changeling.* Of course, Odo lost that privilege after he accidently killed that guy, so, so much for that.
