This game has great story generation. We had our first game this week. I was Lando, wife was Han. I stole two of her bounty contacts including chewie, turning them into crew, before she could get them. She chased me around, fought me in hand to hand combat, but didn’t get them back. Meanwhile, the same planet lando is fighting Han, a patrol lands, I encounter it, and it destroys my ship, forcing me to lose my brand new chromium hull that cost 20 grand and didn’t even get used. I am defeated, for the second time. (I was previously knocked out fighting a creature in the maelstrom.) I heal up (can’t move away) then have to fight the ship again! This time I win. Han moves away. I quickly buy a card that lets me discard it to heal Lando’s 4 personal damage, as I was worried Han comes back for revenge. Seriously, this is epic. We like it a lot more than Star Wars rebellion.
Black Krrsantan works with Doctor Aphra in the comics so you both got relevant crew companions. :)
Played all four player counts and is fantastic at all player counts
Can't believe Doctor Aphra managed to complete the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs.
"Yawwwn...another board game playthrough/review channel..." That's what I thought when I first saw you both. Now 7 or 8 videos later, I find myself looking forward to the next! Keep it up, you both are great.

There is a quite a big mistake not long after Frances discards the top luxury card revealing to then purchase "A gift for Jabba." Yes, the patrol moves but she now no longer can discard or purchase anymore cards that turn. However, she continues to purchase another card from the Market Deck. You're only allowed to buy one card per turn and discard one card per turn.
I'm also pretty sure after she realised she didn't move, she skipped straight to buying the Jabba card but missed out on 2,000 credits.
Literally all while talking about "some cards being OP." Your turn was OP! 😜

Holy Cow! I just noticed Anthony's ring! Had to go back and check ... It showed up in the Etherfields playthrough and I missed it. Congrats :)

Thanks for the playthrough guys....love the vids you guys produce. One little thing other than the Ryloth job already mentioned by someone. The player that reveals the patrol movement decides the path they take as long as it moves towards the current player. Not just the shortest route.
glad you're playing this one....been on the fence about it due to replay-ability.
patrol dont have to go shortest route. but if they can reach you they must. otherwise you can go any route

Played last night with Lisa. She did the Afra thing had tons of money and built a lot of fame. I took Han and went with a fast ship to make deliveries, owned three ships and upgraded them all, got that secret cargo hold did illegals and caught up to her 7 to 7. I won with 9 points by lucking into grabbing a bounty for Maz on the planet she was at and eliminating her for my final 2. I'm not sure about OP... maybe... but I love playing in this world. The fame feels so arbitrary an ending... sometimes. Or like you said... secondary to the fun of the game. I'm not sure anyone really loses this game. It's that much fun.
Note on the Doc being OP: Just change the mechanic so that instead of choosing a skill every time, she chooses an extra skill at the beginning of the game and that's it. That still plays into her strength of being a highly skilled job completer, but without the random gain everything OP talent.

It's true what u said. I played with friends and one selected aphra. She won so easily. She always won the skill challenges and her advance in the game is insane. Is completely op the original mechanic. I erased the char after that play. Your idea is nice. Maybe i' LL restore her in future games.
Found this video and it had me really excited to try this game out. Just got it and my partner and I love it. Can't wait to grab the new expansion when it comes out in a couple months. Hope to see you guys try it out too! :)

If they add new bounties in an expansion and you get a bounty job that doesn't exist they should add a mechanic that you can drop a mission against a consequence if you think the bounty is already "deceased", or you want to abort the mission for other reasons.
Good review. My favourite play through was with Han the Bounty Hunter with Mandalorian armour and a Firespray

William Garcia I just played my first game and it is awesome! Definitely opened to expansions too. They could easily add ships and characters. Finn, and Luke, C-3PO and R2-D2 as support characters would be awesome!

Engaging play-thru despite no closeups. Interesting dice tray. How bout those X-wing minis dice. FFG got lazy on that but it works. I picked it up for free with an amazon gift card. Haven't gotten it yet but a couple TH-cam play-thrus like this helped make the decision.The game and Star Wars universe calls the dollars credits. Some people call them space bucks ; ) I might pick up Firefly next of which this is compared to.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Anthony was able to take the job on Ryloth. I believe all jobs says you can’t take them if you’re already on the planet that the jobs needs to be completed on.
Ryan Dumais I think that only applies to cargo. Jobs can be acquired and completed on the same planet.

Wouldn’t you move the patrols only if someone actually picks up the card?
either i missed it or you did not utilize the Nav Point cards, I dont want to look at them but are they similar to planet encounter cards?
I’ll have to go back and check, but we definitely play with those cards normally.

If you want to go all out, have time and money, make a larger size map and get x-wing miniature, they have all but the starting ship i think. but you will find the price steep after paying 50$ just for the falcon haha

I’m not so sure about the shift toward explaining the game so much. I’d watched for years now and what was really enjoyable about your channel is the fact you just played the game with minimal rules explanation. Peeps get the rules as you played. What was good was the play not the explanation. Also I loved the fact you played with all the rules and not just doing a run through.
you can't buy cards on the same planet as their destination.
FFG lost the German Version of the game on the boat, it should have been released in Germany over a month ago...
