I bought the original a80 apeman a few years ago thanks to your review, that one had optical stabilization. I still use it on my bike sometimes, not great but just fine, and I am surprised how much better that video is compared to this new one. This new one is just garbage. Even 1080 looks way worse than the old one.
Yeah, funny how apeman didn't really improve the video quality after all this time. I said okay when they offered it thinking it would be like a great upgrade from that A80...but not so much

EIS of this camera introduces a lot of image 'wobble' and overal image quality isn't worth to write home about. From what I've seen on YT the Akaso Brave6 Plus is much better.
Is it able to hold 60fps at 4k without bursting into flames? I'm wanting it for sky surveillance ufo an stuff yano xD so stability isn't a problem. However it will need to run for a while at 60fps 4k probably plugged into mains with 256gb sd.
I am looking for an alternative to a gopro, nothing too expensive, something in the range of this camera or an Akaso....what do you recommend for capturing holiday moments and some under water recoding

This is just my opinion, the main benefits of action cameras are their durability (shock/water resistance), the ultrawide view, and their mounting system. If you DIY project doesn't involved debris/water flying around, you don't need to fit the camera into a very tight space (like inside part of the project), or if it isn't so large that you cannot fit the entire area into the frame of a regular phone camera.. I think using your phone is going to work a lot better. The majority of phones today output better 4K30p video than this (of course YMMV).

Had this camera for a day because it was on sale for $60. It claims to have 6-axis gyro for EIS...but seems SW eng don't know how to use it. Also the image/video quality is so bad...looks upconverted. Spending a little more for the Akaso Brave 6 Plus is so worth it.
I've used this camera for a while, like few months, then it started to freeze, some function cant be activated any more, then few buttons gave up and soon as I left it aka not used it for a few months, battery bulged, so all in all it was money wasted.
After watching this video I made up my mind and bought it (it was even on a lightning deal so I only paid $64.99 for it) HELLA cheaper than a goPro and just as good if not better in some ways qualitywise. THANKS this earns you a like and a subscribe from me.

I bought this camera and I regret it. You can't even see most of the license plates in daylight unless you are very close and not moving. Nighttime total disaster. I am just watching every video that someone is going to tell me miracle setting that would make the videos better but not happening :) I need to return this to Amazon but I am lazy about it.

One major flaw, if the screen gets damaged the camera will be useless because it's touchscreen.
That would be true for a GoPro too and pretty much every other action camera.
Lots of lens flare, real issue with plastic lenses
