The V 50 pro seems to have a better colour quality and warmer colours overall, IS this a setting or it's just how the camera is made

Hey Alex, I'm choosing between the V50X and Pro and leaning towards the Pro for the audio. On the other hand if you use the waterproof case is there still a big difference between the two?

That was about the best Camera Comparison Video I have seen. I really like the fact that you had all cameras mounted together on a frame. The comparison in various filming times of day/night was also a very fair test. Just bought a V50X and maybe should have went for the Pro...no big deal, I only need it for footage when I am over water or "action" filming. I don't want to use my Cell Phone for that ! Too expensive if it should drop. What town are you in? I am in Canada as well, Thunder Bay Ontario here. Beautiful looking town. Thanks for the video.
Stabilization on the X looked best, but the PRO had the cleanest picture and best sound.

Great comparison video - The V50 Pro still takes the cake for me even with the better EIS on the 50X. The V50 Pro just has so much more depth, sharpness and accuracy to it than the other two and the internal mic is still very decent.

I just bough a V50X for airsoft recording. The EIS is amazing and great for running around. Pity the sound sucks, but I can live with it. Thanks for this awesome comparison video.

In my opinion the v50x is the best with the lowest price among the three Akaso cameras. I will make this video a comparison before buying an action camera from Akaso which I will use for Motovlogging. Thanks, Redskull.

This video was brilliant and was crucial in helping me decide which camera I needed (as it's for night time cycling), and definitely that what's more expensive isn't always better! One thing you forgot to mention, which I think is what dictates the higher price for the Elite model is that it has voice control. Personally I'd be willing to compromised on the small quality difference between the Pro and the Elite for this function, as others may be, so may be worth a mention...
good suggestion... the voice control doesn't work that great so I didn't bother talking about it

Great review. The V50X is the best. Best dynamic range, best IS, best image quality. The Pro is too sharp. The Elite is too flat with no better dynamic range.

Very nice and brilliant review. Perfectly made. Very good examples. Here are some things I think are important to mention and a little summary might help others with the comparison:
Sound:
With the sound you should always be careful. If you have two almost identical clips the louder one (here the V50 Pro) will always sound better subjetively. If you normalize them you can really compare them. Judging from what I can hear:
1. V50X, if you make it louder there is not a lot of noise and it is the best overall sound
2. V50 Pro, quite good sound
3. V50 Elite, muffled
Image Stabilization:
1. V50X, a lot more stable, but because of that sacrificing a lot of angle
2. V50 Elite, a bit more stable than the
3. V50 Pro, has weird
Colours:
1. V50 Pro
2. V50X, a bit less vibrant and more on the red side, maybe it is accurate cause at 6:29 it is the only camera where you can see these red leaves, cherries or what ever the best.
3. V50 Elite, a lot colder than both of the others, too white
Night:
1. V50 Pro, without the night mode tolerable and sharp
2. V50 Elite, tolerable but again very cold
3. V50X, that very bright picture is just grainy and overall bad
View:
1. V50 Elite
2. V50 Pro, just a little bit narrower, but not really worth mentioning
3. V50 X a lot narrower, probably because of the good stabilization
In summary choose the V50 Pro if you have a bit more money left, and don't rely so much on image stabilization. If you do a lot of shaky stuff choose the V50X. Don't even get near the V50 Elite for that price.

I'm really sorry about what happened to you mate, but with your camera model the akaso V50x is really bad in terms in audio recording. you might want to check the V50 pro. 👍
You can increase the volume in editing. Any editing software can do that

Amazing reviews. V50x has the best stability 👍🏻
The V50X for night looks less smooth motion meaning it’s using a shutter speed slower than 1/30th of a second (slower than the frame rate) also the shimmering from the EIS is awful at night on the V50X.
The night mode looks like it does the same thing on the others but worse maybe like 1/4th or 1/8th of a second for the shutter speed meaning 4-8 FPS equivalent
So which one would you pick?
For me, the Pro version's evening filming, shows good, true to colour grass green, and stonework on buildings, but shows discolour of the tungsten lighting, showing an orange glow. Though, (for me), a choice of camera would be the one which ticks the most boxes for my needs; I.e; External, and internal mic, with good recording, or sound, preferably first without the external mic, like the Pro version you showed.
I also prefer to feel a rubberised camera covering, as opposed to a plastic one!

I bought v50x last year.. i only use it for 3 month.. and now she died.. suddently off
Is it my opinion or are the Elite footages full of noise? The video quality seems to be cropped, blurry and out of focus. I bought one several weeks ago and I returned for this reason. The voice control also warked not always. Really disappointed. I am afraid to give another chance to other akaso models.
V50X seems to be best of the 3

I prefer the V50X image quality. Elite is too soft, and Pro is WAY over-sharpened. X seems to have just enough sharpening but not too much. I even like its low light performance. Brighter than the others. I can always fix color balance in post production.

Did you install the latest software upgrades before doing your tests? I bought a V50 Pro and after installing the latest software upgrades it made a remarkable difference in picture quality, IMS and color. My only gripe with it is that the largest memory it will use is 64GB.
I agree. 64GB of storage isnt what it used to be. You can fill that card up easily.

No, the 4k60 footage looks like 1080p
EIS is better on V50Pro, unless, of course, you fancy of loosing all the details in the super-smooth blur of V50X. Watch that grass @3:11

I bought the V50 Pro and im pretty satisfied on its performance EXCEPT! when your are taking a video on a not so lit up area. Video is very dark. Well, nothings perfect. But overall! I have no regrets. Video Quality on daytime is great. Internal mic is working very well. Also the Pictures quality is really good. Good Job V50 Pro! Goodjob AKASO.

v5O pro has the sharpest and best colour, best overall picture quality but V5OX has the best image stability and the only one that can capture most light at night but its IS was getting jerky at night as if the processor couldn't keep up, with V5O pro and V5OX about the same price now, I would pick the Pro.

I have seen many test videos about action cameras, but your videos are by far the best! Your test videos include everything important, such as microphone test, day and night videos and pictures, etc.

Great comparison ! The pro has the best audio and video quality, the x has the best stabilization and the Elite you could say SUCKS ! Overall the Pro is the best but you would need a gimbal... Like you mentioned before the yi 4K+ would be a better buy.. Keep up the great vids 👍

Thank you very much for the excellent review, I'm from Brazil and I was in doubt about which model to choose, for me I thought the v50 pro was much better in sound and colors
V50 Pro looks way sharper, the others look a little out of focus and it may actually be the lens. I’ve taken off the lens on my ThiEYE t5 and used other lenses.. they just screw in so it’s possible they’re not at the right distance for focus.
There was also shimmering in the background on the V50x

My own personal opinion of these cameras, the V50 elite sound is not bad but, video quality is not too good. The V50 Pro seems the best on sound & video quality & as, for the V50X waste of money VERY POOR!!! on BOTH SOUND & VIDEO!!! So, my own personal choice would be the V50 PRO I'm sure many others would agree with me. If they don't agree with me. Then I would definitely say there's something wrong with them.😳🤔
A casual comparison seems to show V50X = bad audio, V50 Pro = bad picture, V50 Elite = both ok

Do these cameras have the ability to set ISO manually? I would like a comparative test at night of these cameras with different ISO settings. The video shows that the V50X brightens the night too much and I would like to see how it works with the ISO100-200-400 settings
The V50X is very good at night time or low lighting but, image quality is let down a bit too much for my own personal opinion. ( a, bit too soft in picture quality) As I have already mentioned the microphone is SEVERELY RUBBISH!!! & Colours are a, bit washed, out compared to the V50 pro If they could definitely improve the microphone & possibly improve the colour quality a bit it could be a, GREAT camera. But, while it has those negativities it's a, definite NO on the V50X for me.

I ordered the V50X and expect to get it next week, before seeing this video. My 1st action camera and will probably end up buying a more expensive brand. At 1st I thought how great it was that I didn't see this comparison before buying it, but at this point I believe I would have chosen the V50X anyway after seeing this video, or gone with a more expensive brand.
For the price the v50x isn't bad...but like you said...if you want better quality you need to get something more expensive
The E. I. S V50X I'd say was the best ( Smoothest) not much in it from the other two fairly even ( decent) But, that poor microphone on the V50X is far too much to ignore No matter what other things that camera, is good at it would FAIL!!! due to VERY POOR!!! sound recording.
If you prefer good pic quality plus better stabilization....but dont mind about sound quality....then go for V50 X. If not the V50 Pro is the best option. Just my opinion.
Based on those samples V50pro is completelly useless camera with useless EIS and oversharpened image. Elite is just a hair better on EIS; while image is muddy, blue and soft. Thought I can't imagine what original files look like and how TH-cam take away details, it seems The X is only usable, regarding day time. Than at night it seems X have worse processor or sensor or both, since PRO and ELITE sports a vastly more resolution in low light. Also daily superb EIS on X, fails at night since shutter is too low and ghosting is visible. For night X is useless and ELITE is clear winner for resolution, colors, whiite balance and EIS. Pro have less noise visible due to more aggressive NR and smeared details. X tries to buy user back with unnatural bright image that is shot at crazy low shutter of some 1/12th os second or so which is useless for normal use. It lack contrast, blacks are have magenta cast; like any camera that is pushed too far. Night mode is only for emergency to catch thief or spot bear in the bush. It records as it seems at 1/6th of a second which is even worse than X. Since X have superior EIS than both other they could sport lower shutter, and if not walking I believe it would result quite OK image. X is already in "night mode" so to speak all the time. It is funny that even sound is the best on X model. At crosswalk shot I get idea what could be the tech. difference between those cameras: X have cheap lens and cheap sensor/procesor, but great software and mic. PRO have better sensor/processor but still cheap (plastic?) lens and basic software where they pumped some sharpness to image to make up for flaws. ELITE could be the same as Pro, but with tweaked software and much better (glass?) lens. It have the best dynamic range of the bunch, but only slightly better than Pro, slightly less noise, slightly better EIS and slighhtly better colors at night. Also Night mode because of better lens gave them higher shutter speed and so less ghosting (almost usable for walking - I imagine steady movements might produce OK image). For images It is even more obvious that ELITE is the best in all scenarios. What I would buy - solely by this review, X. If night or near night would be important, than Elite. PRO for no reason at all, it is just mi flawed camera that have nothing right and for this tiny price differences I take them as they are same price. X is teh overall best, elite is the best at night, pro is crap.

as per 1:30 in video, you named wrong title in the video. As per your speech in video & quality, rightmost should be V50 elite, not V50X.
v50 pro has best quality and good colors, v50x has better low light quality, good colors also, but also the video is zoomed in to allow more stabilization therefore it looks a lot smoother.
I would buy the v5 pro and do stabilization myself in software. If it is possible to turn off EIS on the camera, that might actually be better.
Just picked up the V50X for $80 new. A steal compared to multi generation old Go Pros for $200+

Hey...i really don’t know the answer to that question... i never used a monitor with any of them... so I can’t really say...sorry. The footage hasn’t been corrected in any way, what you saw was straight from the cameras.
