I'm new to flying, but I made this mistake because I was yapping with someone while preparing to fly. I may be new, but I am very cautious and double check everything before flying - props, menus, RTH height etc. This one time I was careless and on take off which I always go slow and it "almost" flipped. Instead, it flopped to one side cracking one prop. Thank you for this video. It'll help all flyers, seasoned and newbies to double check everything before take-off. Good flying to you all!!
Thank you a million for making this video. This is my first drone I ever bought and I had no idea that there is a difference between A and B propellers. In the excitement I have opened 4 A propellers and put them on. Thank I got "propeller installation error " and I had no clue what the problem is. Thanks again man. My drone is flying now no problem. I may have missed it, if you covered it, but sharing the battery charge issue is also a good one. Having purchased the combo & being a novice I connected all the batteries to the triple charger initially. Mavic wouldn't connect & discovered that the batteries had to be individually charged using the single connector to properly wake them from hibernation.
@@SangheiliSpecOp I DO love both drones, but when it really comes down to it I'd still go with the Mavic Air 2...mainly because I find the battery life to be more reliable, in higher winds it's just more stable, and even though the Mini 2 has a lot of what the Air 2 has, I just find it to be a more reliable drone, not to mention it has some features, like 8K Hyperlapse, that it just performs better with. For those who still don't know why you can't put these props in the wrong spots.Think of a boat prop.Turn it 1 way the prop pushes the boat forward as it expels water backward.(Blow into a whirly gig from both sides and see and feel the force).Spin the prop the other direction and you get the reverse effect. These motor are not turning in the same direction as you may think on these drones.Set these 2 different props on the table and look at the curve of the blades. There's your answer. Most of us know this,i understand. Some however do not.
You are not joking, I got the shock of a life time when my Air 2's back end flicked up and the motors shut down. It was that quick, it shut down before it flicked over, Nose first. I checked and double checked and checked again. I had crossed the front props, and I still can't be-leave I had put the props on wrong. I DID!!!!
I was picking up my drone by holding each arm while installing the propellers. From now on after watching your video, I’m gonna install them while it’s sitting on a flat surface to save my arms. I'm guilty of this. I own the M2P and yesterday had my maiden flight with the Air 2. When launching the drone just wanted to flip upside down. Super quirky. I knew immediatly I made this stupid mistake. The drone's sensors do feel that you made the mistake, which is actually pretty cool. There's even a dedicated warning for that I found out :'). Stay safe guys.
@@jonathanmiller9281 Luckily I could abort before it actually flipped. I tried pushing the throttle twice but I could see the back lifting up while the front stayed down. Then I checked the props and did a proper facepalm.

Thanks for the warning! I had also assumed that they couldn't be put on incorrectly. I wonder, if someone put all 4 on wrong, would it fly upside down?
Thank you! I did In fact have two propellers on the wrong motor, oddly I opened one pack of propellers and there was only 2 without the silver ring, I had to open the other spares that came with the drone to find the other two

Hello Aldryn, thank you very much for this update. I've made sure that the correct props are on the right motors. I haven't tried to fit them on the opposite motor and will not, LOL! Regarding the MA2 not included in the lawsuit. I've heard rumors that it may be included in a proposed updated settlement agreement? Reasons I heard, the MA2 wasn't on the market at the time for the suit. It may be the reason why it still may be included in a revised ruling, but that's yet known? Again, thanks for this update AND will pass it along to friends and social media too, take care!
I totally made this mistake. I was paying attention to the colors, but absent mindedly put the propeller I knew was orange onto the black motor. It went on but was a bit hard. The clip has a slight slope so it looks like they meant to make it one way but didn't go far enough
I did this accidentally before and I believe it will give you a warning on your remote informing you to check props and that something is wrong. I know I got some sort of warning preventing me from launching. 🤙🏾🤙🏾
I did this on my mavic mini. I put them on the opposite motors. instead of flipping over it just sat their and would not take off. no matter how much throttle I gave it. pretty sure it was basically generating downward thrust instead of upward thrust the entire time
Can you modify mavic air 2 battery charging hub to simultaneously charge all 3 batteries together. ? Because it usually charges the one battery which is less depleted.
Thank you so much Great help because my Air 2s keep showing that propeller message every time I start So I called DJI and already arranged to send back and get an inspection Now I cancelled and flying with no problem at all
In Autel’s patent description, it says “The clockwise rotor blade is engageable only with the clockwise lock mechanism and the counterclockwise rotor blade is engageable only with the counterclockwise lock mechanism and cannot be engaged in the clockwise lock mechanism.” (Patent #: US9260184B2) This is why the Mavic Air 2’s propeller can be mounted on any motors. How do you control the camera , please ? I mean...I know there is a button on the left side for your fingers but how does that work ? How do you turn the camera and up and down ? Thank you.
A good thumbs up , the only down side to the video is that you could of explained and maybe shown how this is done and how to avoid butting the props on the wrong motor,s

Good to know and I will pay particular attention to this when mine comes.
Do not put the wrong propeller on the wrong motor...
I hit mine last week. It is awesome.
I ended up putting on the wrong propellers on the wrong motor but it didn’t let me take off. it told me to check propellers and motors
You missed big A and B letters on wings and packaging?
But it should have flipped over damit!
Your videos help me very much
Thanks for it..!!!🙏
Thanks frank
Thanks so much for this video! This mistake can be easy to overlook and this video makes the proper protocol easier to understand.
Ouch. Thanks for sharing that this is something worth noting for people to see.
Thanks for sharing. Hope all is ok and no extra pieces. Can’t imagine the thoughts you had when it happened. Thanks for sharing your “adventure”. Ouch
@@jonathanmiller9281 Luckily I could abort before it actually flipped. I tried pushing the throttle twice but I could see the back lifting up while the front stayed down. Then I checked the props and did a proper facepalm.
Good info to know man! If you been flying long enough you won't make mistake. This could be disastrous for newbies
Most definitely
Karina N be careful about saying “... you won’t make mistakes “. VERY dangerous... remember Pride goes before the fall.
Thanks for this clear explanation 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Good to know, thanks. I'm running the Pro but, my friend just got the Air 2.
Another great video.....HOPE YOUR RACKING UP BIG BUCKS FROM TH-cam BUDDY YOU DESERVE IT 😉👍
Didnt buy a mavic air 2 yet....too much money right now.
Not worried about the money. Just want quality info out there.
A very informative video thank you. My only feedback would have been to have shortened it a bit ..there are a few minutes where you continually repeat the same information ..I know you are wanting to stress the importance but personally I felt it lost something mid way through. However very appreciative of your channel ..thanks again ..keep up the good work...
Support for you. Love your videos!
wow i'm so happy to have joined such a fantastic community. So many tutorials from fantastic content creators. I just got my first drone (air 2) and it's truly amazing. Such a great hobby to get into.
Just baught one and now I'm trying to learn! Love your channel

A Very informative post. Thank You
You are welcome!
I love your content. Great stuff. Keep them drone videos coming please.
Hello, can you make a review about the flight range of mavic air 2. With high and distance.
I don’t do range tests.
Just got one of these bad boys. Easy set up. 👌
Thanks for the warning! I had also assumed that they couldn't be put on incorrectly. I wonder, if someone put all 4 on wrong, would it fly upside down?
Nukeboyt LOL.
That would be interesting to see... 🙃
How do I reduce the sound my Mavic 2 makes when its telling me there is an obstacle? Its too loud. Great channel! Thanks
i think with the new air 2S props that fit Air 2 they won't lock if you put em on the wrong one. Well Done Thumbs up,👍😀
Thank you! I did In fact have two propellers on the wrong motor, oddly I opened one pack of propellers and there was only 2 without the silver ring, I had to open the other spares that came with the drone to find the other two
Glad but not glad to hear that some people actually did put them on wrong.
Thanks for the info,, just put mine on my new mavic air2 last nite,,and I just put them on boom easy , fast and secure,,,now with my mavic you cant screw up the props they wont go on incorrectly,, but now I'm going to go look more closely at my late nite prop install and make sure they are on correctly,, I've been building these for awhile now,,tri - quad - and hexa copters by mikrokopter,,all obsolete now ,,and I know what happens when the props and or the rotation of the motors are wrong ,,,, bad things ,,
Today I bought a DJI MAVIC Air 2 drone, looks like best value for the $$$
Good choice!
Do I need to register with FAA before I fly? I live in Las Vegas
Yes
Excellent pick up Aldryn. Thanks!,
My pleasure!!
Excellent Info! Thanks for sharing.
Np thanks Richard
Hello Aldryn, thank you very much for this update. I've made sure that the correct props are on the right motors. I haven't tried to fit them on the opposite motor and will not, LOL! Regarding the MA2 not included in the lawsuit. I've heard rumors that it may be included in a proposed updated settlement agreement? Reasons I heard, the MA2 wasn't on the market at the time for the suit. It may be the reason why it still may be included in a revised ruling, but that's yet known? Again, thanks for this update AND will pass it along to friends and social media too, take care!
Such an interesting hardware change. Would definitely like to hear the reason from DJI.
@@FlytPath Yeah, me too, very interesting. Maybe this is their work around for the patient?
Saludos, can you do a comparation between 4k 60, Mavic air 2 and phantom 4 pro. Please thanks
I put them on the opposite motors. instead of flipping over it just sat their and would not take off. no matter how much throttle I gave it. pretty sure it was basically generating downward thrust instead of upward thrust the entire time
Hi aldryn can you please make a video on how to properly replace the mavic mini propellers?
Watch my basic setup video
Can you modify mavic air 2 battery charging hub to simultaneously charge all 3 batteries together. ? Because it usually charges the one battery which is less depleted.
I was laughing when you said some people will try to put the wrong one on the wrong side it was like you said feel free too be a moron...Great Video👍
Thank you so much
Great help because my Air 2s keep showing that propeller message every time I start
So I called DJI and already arranged to send back and get an inspection
Now I cancelled and flying with no problem at all
In Autel’s patent description, it says “The clockwise rotor blade is engageable only with the clockwise lock mechanism and the counterclockwise rotor blade is engageable only with the counterclockwise lock mechanism and cannot be engaged in the clockwise lock mechanism.” (Patent #: US9260184B2)
This is why the Mavic Air 2’s propeller can be mounted on any motors.

Boom 💥
Mark Zhang IMPRESSIVE!!!!! 😯
FlytPath side note: this patent is supposed to expire after 2034
How do you control the camera , please ? I mean...I know there is a button on the left side for your fingers but how does that work ? How do you turn the camera and up and down ? Thank you.
Scroll wheel on the remote
FlyPath that was a Great Safety Video ! Thanks for the Video !
Glad you enjoyed it
A good thumbs up , the only down side to the video is that you could of explained and maybe shown how this is done and how to avoid butting the props on the wrong motor,s
Do you have to open the prop before starting up or does it open itself ?
Just got mine today, brilliant that I seen this info, thanks
